Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 364/day in the week to Jul 17 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Eastward is a beautifully detailed and charming adventure game, from Shanghai-based indie developers, Pixpil.
In the near-future, society is starting to collapse, and the human population is at an all-time low. A deadly toxic presence has spread across the land, destroying and devouring everything in its path.
Those who could escape the miasma flocked to underground villages to start a new life. But for a hardworking miner and a mysterious young girl, the hope of a thriving outside world beckons…
Escape the tyrannical clutches of Potcrock Isle's subterranean society and join Eastward’s unlikely duo on an exciting adventure to the land above! Discover beautiful yet bizarre settlements and make new friends as you travel across the world by rail.
Contains adult humour and some mature themes.
Discover the wonderfully weird world of Eastward. Climb aboard the cross-country railway which spans this decaying continent, stopping off to explore its bustling towns, curious campsites and shady forests.
Fend off peculiar monsters and ferocious bosses with John’s weapon of choice - be it a flamethrower, cog-shooter or your trusty ol’ frying pan. Feeling merciful? Try temporarily stunning them with Sam’s kinetic blast.
Switch between John and Sam to solve environmental puzzles and fight your way through formidable dungeons. Separate the duo to unlock hidden paths or stick together as you traverse a perilous landscape.
Get to know a quirky cast of characters with oodles of personality! Immerse yourself in a heartwarming story-driven adventure, packed with fun and wacky humour.
Create deliciously authentic Eastwardian cuisine using (mostly) fresh, organic ingredients from toxic forests, potcrab farms and abandoned malls. These delicacies will grant health bonuses, power boosts and secret boons.
Bop along to a wonderfully upbeat soundtrack composed by Joel Corelitz (Death Stranding, Hohokum, The Unfinished Swan), with sound design from Irish studio, Hyperduck Soundworks (Dust: An Elysian Tail, Kingdom Rush)

Eastwards my favorite game of all time. I started playing on the switch in 2022 then recently bought it again on steam. I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes games with a rich story and amazing graphics speaking of that the art in this game is stunning probably is what inspired me to keep going with drawing and progressing so I owe eastward a huge part of my life, the game really helped me through hard times I found it at my lowest and it helped me savor life and enjoy the little things. I remember when Octopia was announced I couldn't believe it that we were getting more content I was literally in tears lmao just really didn't expect it since the game doesn't have as many fans as it should so seeing the creators really did care and love their work to put more out there for a small community just gives me more of a reason to love this game. I genuinely cannot thank eastward enough, and I hope that the main game and Octopia is not the last we see of this amazing story. Thank you thank you thank you devs <3

I'm so grateful for a fast forward button. Visually the game is beautiful and has a great aesthetic, but the story leaves me with more questions than answers. I wish there was a neutral option to review. Play it if you like cute pixel games with hopeful end of the world stories, I guess, but don't expect to get heavily invested. Most of the characters are naive to the point of actual stupidity, and deliberately vague about things to the point of frustration. It doesn't feel like there's much character growth, and it's hard to feel anything for any of the side characters since their backgrounds and motivations aren't explained. And don't get me started about how long camera panning or fade to black/scene changing takes. Why are the characters just standing around wibbling for several minutes, forcing you to have to FFW? Who gave the green light to that? The combat is okay and well animated, and the music is decent. It was an overall just...mid experience I guess, but I also harbor some resentment that Starbound flopped hard so this could be made. It's about a 6/10 for me.
First half of the game is super enjoyable, even though feels unpolished. Second half... couldn't keep up with the over-mystification and the ending is super naive. Plot has some awesome ideas, but they don't fit together neither in terms of realism, nor as game simplification. Game tried both and didn't meet my expectations. Sadly there is no middle score on Steam. Experience was quite refreshing. But if I am forced to choose between like and dislike - I rather pick the latter one. Huge dynamic loss in the last quater of the game might be related to loss of creativity and rawness of mechanics. Also near the end of the game other issues caught up with me like cooking lottery, dialogs skipping themselves, clumsy controls... *** Add: I read negative reviews. Most of those authors didn't even finish the game, but already spotted many things in addition to mine observations. I disagree about dark twists - those were quite realistic and fun for me. I felt that I am playing a grown man content at those moments. Though, as other mention - poor writing. Ending ruins the experience and undermines the time you invested into the game.
I couldn’t be happier that I finally convinced myself to buy and play Eastward after it sat in my wishlist for months. With its charming pixel art, beautiful soundtrack, and a cast of charismatic characters, the game delivered a fun and immersive experience that kept me invested from start to finish. The story, while occasionally leaving a few things unexplained, ultimately provides just enough context to piece things together along the way. Combat while fairly simple throughout the game, remain consistently engaging and offers a satisfying challenge. Combined with side quests and small optional activities, it helps make the world of Eastward feel alive.
After 6 hours of playing I'm disappointed by the narrative of the game, there was so far no rpg elements to it besides upgrading weapons. The characters choices are questionable and ignoring events, which you would like to prevent as an player. The graphics are amazing, but i was looking for a story rich and exciting world. This was not the game for me.
