A little buggy and linear, but the plot is interesting enough to keep you hooked. NWN1 was better tho
TLDR : Aucun problème de bugs. La nostalgie ne vaut pas la souffrance, même pour un "classique". Un let's play fait aussi bien l'affaire. J'avais un souvenir nostalgique du jeu original et n'ayant jamais fait l'extension MOTB je me suis dit pourquoi pas. Bon sang que ce jeu a mal vieilli ! La campagne de base a une écriture insipide et si reste du jeu avait été correct ce ne serait pas un souci. Mais là ... Pour illuster, juste l'interface : à partir de l'acte 2 j'ai arrêté de m'occuper de l'inventaire et me suis juste mis à tout vendre aux marchands. Il est plus simple, malgré la lourdeur du système, de fabriquer son propre matériel que de se fader la lecture des fiches de l'équipement (sans compte que ça permet aussi d'avoir un meilleur matériel). Le combat quant a lui a été clairement conçu pour du tour par tour (le jeu est basé sur DnD3.5 après tout) mais forcé en un pseudo temps réel. Du coup au lieu de contrôler proprement son équipe, on se retrouve à se battre avec une IA qui fait sa vie. Heureusement que la campagne de base est ridiculement facile. Après avoir subi la deuxième moitié du jeu pour "refaire un classique", j'ai jeté l'éponge au début de l'extension. Clairement elle est mieux écrite et il y a une ambiance intéressante, mais ça ne sauve pas le gamplay. A noter que je n'ai eu à déplorer aucun des bugs mentionnés par les autres avis. Coup de bol ou effet Linux ? Par contre je vous recommande chaudement la vidéo Youtube de Jaden Kor sur le jeu !

"I was there, Frodo... 10,000 years ago when they first released Baldur's Gate." I've played pretty much every classic CRPG since I first got my hands on Baldur's Gate back in what feels like 1917, and I've been hooked ever since. There's just something timeless about a proper D&D party-based RPG. Building your companions, min-maxing your party, crawling through dungeons, scraping through brutal encounters with a tank, a healer and a mix of ranged and melee damage dealers... it never gets old. Modern games have incredible graphics, but somewhere along the way many forgot that story is what keeps people coming back. The classics built worlds that felt alive and let the setting speak for itself. That's why they're still replayable decades later. Neverwinter Nights 2 is one of those games. If you're younger and loved Baldur's Gate 3, do yourself a favour and play this and Baldur's Gate II. They're part of the foundation the modern CRPG renaissance was built on. As for the Enhanced Edition, it's definitely easier on the eyes than the original. The visual improvements are welcome and it still captures everything that made the game great. Unfortunately, there are some fairly major issues at the moment. The game occasionally locks up when pausing, forcing a full restart. It's happened to me often enough that it's become genuinely frustrating. The loading screen saying "Save early, save often" isn't just nostalgia anymore—it's survival advice. The party AI also feels noticeably worse than I remember. Your companions behave like a pack of suicidal Catherine wheels that someone's forgotten to nail to a board. They'll sprint across the battlefield, constantly switch targets, ignore obvious threats and generally do everything except what you'd expect a seasoned adventuring party to do. It can turn otherwise enjoyable encounters into exercises in frustration. Despite those issues, this is still an absolute masterpiece and one of the finest RPGs ever made. If the developers iron out the crashes and improve the AI, it'll be an easy recommendation. And if they don't... there's every chance the community will. Neverwinter Nights 2 has an absolutely gargantuan modding scene, and if history is anything to go by, the fans will probably fix what the developers don't.
