I would not recommend this at full price. While the writing and voice-work is up to standards, there is a game play problem. There are unlockable skills in the campaign which require you to do something on a timer. The first time you play that scenario, especially if you are not familiar with all your units/rooms/research and need to read about them (which you CAN'T do while paused, you must read unit/research descriptions in real time) is going to be difficult. You likely won't be able to discern what, exactly you need to do in which order to achieve the objective in time to get your skill unlocked. Therefore you will need to play the scenario again (took me 1.5 hours to finish, now I need to go do it again). Once you know where the diamond is, which forces you need to fight first, which faction you should focus on, then you can play to win. I didn't want to buy a puzzle game that I have to do the same thing multiple times. Is there any reason I should expect to win the first time, every time? Well, no. But I shouldn't have to play the same thing over and over just because I didn't win the right way. Your way. Ever heard of railroading? So that's my review. The game campaign is kinda railroady.

I like it! Like the fact it is easy enough for me to play, Being I am old. It is a challenge at times but I like that too. I am not a fast moving person lol And it seems you do much better if you are quick. I have Dungeons 2 and 3.... to me 3 was much easier to play than 2 and this one is like it is both together. Though I like the looks of the the horde, demons and undead in 2 the best. I like that you have the choice of easy, normal and difficult :) Being an old lady, of course I picked the easy lol but I hope to go to normal after playing a while.
본인은 던전키퍼라이크 게임을 해 본적이 없었고, 단순 던전 관리 형식 게임이 흥미로워서 본 게임을 해봤는데 시뮬겜을 좋아하던 본인의 취향에 맞아서 매우 만족스러웠다. 지하에서 땅을 파며 금맥을 찾아 골드를 확보하고, 지상으로 크리쳐들을 출격시켜 영웅들을 물리치거나 건물을 박살내 연구 자원을 모으고, 지하에서 파낸 땅에 방을 만들어 고용한 크리쳐들의 후생복지를 만족시키고, 지상에서 내려오는 영웅들을 물리칠 함정 통로를 만드는 등 게임 일시정지가 없는 실시간 게임 주제에 꽤나 할게 많아 아스퍼거력을 보유한 플레이어들에게 좋은 게임이었다. 게임디자인과 별개로 비꼬는 나레이터와 그에 반박하는 캐릭터 등 양키식 유머가 아주 마음에 들기도 했다. 던전키퍼라이크 게임은 던전스4가 처음이라 이에 비교할 만한 게임이 떠오르지 않지만, 나름 전략시뮬겜을 좋아하거나, 트로피코6(개발사가 같다)같은 유머 코드를 좋아하는 사람들에게도 추천할만 하다.
I love Dungeon games, love the gameplay, and the humour omg the humour i swear i almost blew my stomach lauching!!! graphics and art direction is perfect and the game is well optimized sound effects are nice and the music is AWESOME, writing and voice acting is also top level! its only downside is that there is not enough of it, ahh Dungeons 5 cant come too soon!

Great game! Easily the best Dungeons game. Great levels, a lot of variety of creatures and stuff to do and feels very good to play.
honestly, just a good as the last one, perhaps I might be biased but i've always enjoyed Dungeons series so to get a different but familiar twist on it is very cool, I think the changes overall are great, it would be nice to see workshop support however, I feel that way about any game on steam, hehe. TLDR: if you liked Dungeons 3, you'll enjoy it. if you didn't like elements of Dungeons 3, still worth checking out this one.
evilness is need to upgrade anything, gotta kill things on the overworld to do that, leads to a feedback loop unless you get up there with speed leaving you undefended just sort of worse then the 3rd one
As a fan from the Dungeon Keeper series, I was initially a bit hesitating to try this game. But it really captured the dungeon keeper vibe in a good way. The overworld needed a bit getting used to from my part, but once you get the hang of it, it is a fun game. Story wise it isn't really that special. But honestly, you don't play these kind of games for the story to begin with. The commentator and Thalya conversations make up for it. It had me actually laughing out loud multiple times.
