Reviews
just the best mapmaking tool that feels like a game, using it for cool cutscenes as well
Ótima ferramenta para criação de maps <3 tem minha recomendação!
This is a great map making client. I have used a few others and this one has such a smooth feel. It is very intuitive in comparison to the others I have used. It has also helped me cut down on my map production time a ton. Thanks to the devs who put all the hard work into developing this incredible application

Have you ever sat down to make a map for a combat or dungeon and realized you have a great room design that's essentially empty? Did you ever wish you didn't have to specifically put in all the chairs, bookcases, chandeliers, etc? This program is fantastic for that and geared for you! Absolutely one of the best tools out there for detail work. The way that I use it is to auto-generate multiple rooms and the overall shape of the structure or dungeon to get me started. It's incredibly easy to whip out a dozen rooms and connecting hallways really fast. Then I go back in to tweak them, using the Gen-AI tools to populate furnishings and match each room to a purpose, and then do things like make the hallways and walls consistent with the area. It's easy to quickly get something going, and if you want to spend an hour tweaking exactly how that stack of books sits on that table, it's amazing. The one thing to keep in mind, I think, is that if you're planning on exporting to an image file or a .VTT, the players won't be able to see as much of the detail. Just keep that in mind when you're working, because I've spent a lot of time on things I realized later just weren't visible from the top-down view most TTRPGs use. Program is awesome though, and they're continuing to expand and add features constantly. Every time I come back to make a new big dungeon they've got something going on. Nwe updates are bringing multiple level rooms, underground stuff, more objects, and people constantly add stuff through the steam workshop. It's the best hi-res mapmaking program I've ever used, and the Gen-AI features to toss in the small knick-knacks and little touches really makes things look good.
Ease of map making.
Really nice map making program for games like D&D or Pathfinder. There are a lot of components, and it works well for outdoor maps as well. There are export options for Virtual table top programs like roll20, which I've only used a little, but it works well in my experience so far.
Big Nerd Tings Innit.
Great for the campaign i'm making. Love how easy it is to prep with this.
Love this. I actually use it as a stand alone program for face to face Dnd Sessions. Put in the 1st person view and exploration becomes totally immersive and we get to benefit from all the glory of 3d Maps!
Dungeon Alchemist is an outstanding map-making tool with continuous QOL and asset updates since launch. There are some UX hiccups—large maps can freeze, object scaling gets tricky, and the cinematic camera isn’t the most intuitive—but the amount of customization and creative freedom easily outweigh them. Between the built-in features and a growing community asset library, it’s great for highly detailed TTRPG maps or dioramas on top of quick builds. I admit, I don't really use the procedural generation. Though it's a great feature, I am far more fun starting from scratch in my sandbox :D
