About
Dune: Awakening is an epic Open World Survival Game where you get to fully immerse yourself in one of science fiction’s most iconic worlds.
You have been chosen by the Bene Gesserit to go to Arrakis as their agent and uncover the mystery of the missing Fremen. Visit locations such as Arrakeen and Hagga Basin and meet familiar characters such as Duke Leto Atreides and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, as you unravel an epic Dune story never told before: yours.
Whether you prefer to play alone or with friends, Dune: Awakening gives you the opportunity to explore a vast, open world Arrakis brimming with secrets to discover, stories to investigate, gadgets to craft, vehicles to assemble, and bases to build. You choose which path to take as you rise from survival to greatness.
Avoid the roaming sandworms. Seek shadows to stay out of the scorching sun. Study the slow blade or learn to master the powers of the Mentat and Bene Gesserit. Build a modest home or a massive base and decorate it to reflect your character’s unique personality. Climb mountains or craft your ornithopter and take to the skies.
Dune: Awakening gives you a living, breathing Dune on a scale never seen before.
Discover a dynamic and immersive Arrakis, from the rolling sand dunes of the Deep Desert to hidden Fremen caves and the bustling city streets of Arrakeen. Climb towering mountains with the Shigawire hook and fly across sandworm-infested deserts in an ornithopter you built yourself. Escape the destructive might of the massive sandstorms towering above you as they sweep across the landscape, then take a quiet moment to witness the beauty of Arrakis when the sun is low.
In Dune: Awakening, you get to step into the books and movies and experience one of science fiction’s most incredible worlds up close. Join the Atreides or the Harkonnen and rise through their ranks as you explore their unique stories. Meet familiar characters such as Duke Leto and Feyd-Rautha, investigate the mysterious disappearance of the Fremen, and discover the truth about your own past. Unravel an epic, cinematic Dune story that asks the mind-bending question: what if Paul Atreides was never born?
Arrakis is a test that few survive. Those who do, awaken. Learn to survive the unique climate of Arrakis, chasing shade and extracting liquid from the bodies of your enemies to refine it into water. Study the teachings of the Schools of the Imperium to unlock a powerful repertoire of abilities, weapons, and tools. Wield the Trooper’s unparalleled firepower, use the Bene Gesserit voice to control your enemies, deploy the Mentat’s deceptive traps, or master the Swordmaster’s unique dance of death.
Carve out your own piece of Arrakis and build your personal base of operations. From small outposts to elaborate and towering strongholds, build everything piece-by-piece in the Atreides or Harkonnen style, or any of the other available architectural styles, and decorate it to reflect your personality. Equip it with powerful crafting machines and spice refineries and watch your power and fortune grow. Craft anything from useful desert-survival gadgets to entire vehicles such as ground cars and ornithopters.
Play alone in full single-player, multiplayer with friends on a self-hosted or rented private server, or with hundreds of other players on a public server. The full game, with all its features, content, and story, is available regardless of which mode you choose. Both single-player and private multiplayer offer extensive gameplay customization options, allowing you to scale difficulty and tune gameplay options however you like.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'll be straight up here. The CONCEPT and visuals of this game are great. Getting to experience Arrakis. Messing around with spice and experiencing house squabbles, and the survival systems are fun and engaging. This "review" ain't about that. What it IS about, is that (unless you're here primarily for the pvp only stuff) it is by and large, a PVE game. Cool! That's my type of game. However... The whole game is designed to run on servers, like a lot of games do. Should be nbd right? WRONG Since the last month or so, every single day you boot this game up and you don't have hard-lined gigabit ethernet and a supercomputer, you are going to have CONSTANT connection problems. Some minor and short lived, MANY daily, and critical. Take flying for instance. Resources are scarce, so your flying vehicles have a robust gliding system, which you use all the time. Which sounds great, until you realize that it's tied to the servers. So if your anywhere that has more than 5 people in a mile radius, your "glide" is going to violently jerk around, get heavily delayed, or as of late (at the time of writing this review) NOT WORK AT ALL. It's now a common occurence for me to be flying in the deep desert searching for spice, switching from glide to hover in a flying vehicle, and have it continue to fly straight forward against my control. I've had to grind it up against the face of a mountainside several time, just to keep it from trying to fly off into the infinite expanses of the desert. This game features a giant sandworm which, when it kills you, destroys EVERYTHING you're wearing/carrying/riding on, which is totally fun and interesting, until you aren't just running from a giant worm, but also rubber-banding infinitely on one of the legs of your flying vehicle as the worm bears down on you with the speed and ferocity of a freight train. The controls are janky. REAL JANKY. I can't prove it, but I feel like this is tied to the same issues, as it seems like coding calls getting ignored because of the time to communicate with the servers. Switching between a gun and a sword for instance. You push the button to stash a sword and pull a gun, and instantly push your "focus aim" button so you pull your gun directly into an aiming position. This will ~75-90% of the time, cause your second button push to simply go ignored. Switching between two different guns and want to start shooting ASAP when the switch finishes? You instinctively hold down your shoot button while the switching animation plays and this causes the same thing. This is a survival game WHERE EVERY WEAPON SWING, OUNCE OF FUEL, AND PEICE OF AMMUNITION MATTERS, and the game is simply not capable of allowing you to play as well as you can, because everything has to be checked with the server first. I have actual issues with the expected gameplay itself (the game swaps between extreme hand holding to telling you NOTHING about anything), but these stated above connection issues (which grow as you progress) have absolutely ruined my experience. Which after SEVERAL HUNDRED HOURS really really sucks. TLDR; If you ain't on hard-lined ethernet, do not bother. Bad server connectivity all but ensures it will just end in tears.
death penalties get too harsh makes not fun
Since the latest updates game runs terrible, crashes all the time, and just all round a horrible experience... I'd stay clear and save your money, even discounted its not worth the risk with game crashes and issues... The end game sucks and unless you like repeating the same content over and over and over again then this game isn't worth the time!
Game crashes everytime it finishes checking the shaders. Asking for a refund.
Played 200 hours, got to the endgame, noticed i could not access Landstraad, a core endgame mechanic of the game, opened a ticket asking to fix the issue and Funcom's answer was basically they couldn't do anything about it, to create a new character. That's the worst kind of support i've ever received in any game i've played till now, zero respect for a player's time invested and communication was horrible. I'm probably never going to play another game from this company as after this happened to me, i did some research and found out its a recurring trend in their games in general.
