I’ve got a problem: I’m broke. And Dex is paying me way too little… Luckily, I’ve already rewatched Breaking Bad five times. Now that we’ve got the knowledge, it’s time to put it into practice. That’s why we played Drug Dealer Simulator 2! This game is developed by Byterunners and published by Movie Games S.A. Here’s our Drug Dealer Simulator 2 review. [b]No Controller Support [/b] Let me just get straight to the point: what I find really odd is that there is no controller support. The release date for this game is June 20, 2024, and yet there is no controller support. I think that is weird and, honestly, outdated. “Yes, but Mike, you are playing a simulator with a mouse and keyboard, and you are on PC anyway.” Nope, that is not how it works. As a player, you should get to choose whether you want to use a mouse and keyboard or a controller. And sure, you could argue: “But the console edition will be released in 2026, then you can use a controller.” That is still a terrible argument, because I want to play it on PC. Anyway, enough negativity, let’s take a look at how the game actually plays. [b]Story[/b] You play as Eddie in the early 2000s. Your lifestyle is full of bad decisions, making you a true outlaw in search of shelter. Luckily, Isla Sombra is the perfect place for people like you. Eddie uses his skills to try and make a fortune along the way. The game takes place in an open world where you fully simulate a drug-dealing career. “Jesse, we need to cook!”. You gather ingredients and build strong relationships with your clients. As you earn more money, you can buy better furniture and equipment, customizing your hideout exactly the way you want. Good production requires proper time management and tight inventory control. Can’t handle that? Invite your best drug buddy and play in co-op mode. But as always, there are setbacks, and here too, NPCs can give you a serious beating. Avoid fights or face them head-on. Be real, earn street reputation, and get some respect. You are not here for a relaxing island getaway; there is work to be done. Already know what you will do with all your hard-earned cash? [b]Highs and Lows[/b] I have to say, the concept of the game is very well thought out. You grow your drugs, try to improve them, and truly build your own empire. As you can imagine, that does not come without challenges. However, at some point, the game starts to feel rushed, and I am not a fan of that. I also really dislike the controls and often spend way too much time figuring things out. It feels like I am playing an old game, even though it was released in 2024. Graphically, it is not strong, and the NPCs feel kind of blocky. I do not know if this was just me, but the game felt a bit empty. I was missing atmosphere and immersion. The story also ended up feeling too much like endless back-and-forth runs to deliver my goods, almost like playing a Roblox Tycoon but with a dash of cat-and-mouse gameplay.   [b]Final Thoughts[/b] In short, it feels like they had the perfect ingredients for a delicious cake but did not follow the recipe, or maybe snuck in the wrong ingredient. Personally, I think the game definitely had potential. The drug production mechanics are well executed, but from there, it feels like the game was rushed to completion. It is not a bad game by any means, but it drops the ball in several areas. If you are into the theme and can look past the clunky controls, the lack of controller support, and the somewhat empty world, you can still have fun with it. Just do not expect a masterpiece you will keep playing for weeks, this is more a fun with friends for a few sessions type of game than one you will pour your heart and soul into.
