Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 24: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 5/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

not feeling it
Im little shocked this has so many good reviews. Theres so many glaring issues. The story, characters, and world are beautiful and simple but the issue mostly lies in the combat, inventory, and annoyingly long animations. Cons: Combat-Why cant we see what the enemys weakness and strengths are? Most enemies die quickly from melee anyways so I cant find a reason for them to not include this addition. It the main reason I refuse to use veronica because its basically just use whatever has highest damage potential rather then using fire against an enemy weak against fire. Most people are going to say well you need to experiment and figure it out. So you like your time wasted for no reason, great. Inventory-Having limited character space is fine, but why does everything not unequip into the bag. It so annoying that the auto transfer from character to bag trips almost all your items away with the gear you want to move, forcing you to move things 1 at a time. Animation speed- Forging animation on an successful attempt is so annoying long. If you ever want to batch upgrade, prepare to be there for 30 minutes. Its actually the worst part of this game IMO and the reason my run is NoUpgrading at all. Again, wasting the players time for no reason. They probably wanted the player to feel good but it does the opposite. Also picking up anything without a mount, takes about double the time. Idk why it cant be instant for everything. Again its all these little things that just test your patience over a couple hours. Pros: Everything else. The world is beautiful. The combat is okay outside of information being hidden from you, making everything feel pointless outside of this does more damage then this. Characters are great. Voice acting is great. Story has been good so far. Not completely done yet, but Im close to the end. Id give it a 7/10. Worth 1 playthrough. The game is designed to be simple but it acts like a double edge sword most of the time. No real challenge even with hard mode on. Im enjoying it with a few mods to make it bearable, but i wont be replaying it anytime soon.
怀念那些强闯民宅砸罐子,翻箱倒柜,去赌场彻夜不归,在野外屠杀小动物,找小姐啪敷的日子了
Took a while to finish but it was a fun experience. also probably the easiest 100% of my life, added with a pinch of cheddar 🤏
My 2nd step in the DQ franchise (I felt a sour taste after DQ3 remake) and I must say this is a great game! I have to point out some things I didn't like but still I have enjoyed this adventure very much. So let's go through what I did not like: - traversing the 'open' world, so 1st things first these are more like glorified corridors rather than open zones, but that's not a big deal, game is streamlined and paced properly so no harm there, what annoyed me though is the inconsistency... on one hand You can jump down from cliffs and do some light jump parkouring but on the other sometimes falling through stairs to make a shortcut is blocked by invisible walls and jumping through a tiny fence is too much for our hero... it's just annoying inconsistency really - if You go for the more challenging encounters You have to grind which is typical for any jrpg really, but having to farm mats to craft something... I don't know...my MMO PTSD kicked in there (from the tens of thousands of hours lost there), again no big deal I guess (especially since it's fully optional) but still it's a strange design choice for a single player game - story, hard to describe without spoilers but let's just say that You actually have 2 games here (3 if You count the fantastic 2D), Act1 + 2 is a classic fantasy story which I loved, while Act3...I was not a fan of how it has been set up. Again no big deal but
the going back in time mechanic is just lazy...it cheapens the challenges and sacrifices that have been performed i.e. Veronica, or saving/fighting Your father twice...meh
Still, this is a fantastic game. I loved the companions and how they have been portrayed, the voice acting is great (compared to DQ3 remake it's leagues better), music is enjoyable (highly recommend switching the world music to DQ8 as available in the menu), the leveling system, the party management (the ease of switching members, 'builds', party leveling etc.). A very solid modern take on a classical jrpg format. A solid 8,5/10
勇者傳說的起源 回憶的開始
(These segments were part of a longer review that I scrapped most of for brevity, and while I write a better one, that I'll slot in after killing the final boss) I love dragon quest, and jumped at the chance to play the demo, I was happy most of the Late Great Akira Toriyama's designs worked as well as they did in 3d, the story was pretty good at the start, and some of the stories it tells are genuinely heart breaking, such as the mermaid story you kinda stumble on as you're going. Game is seven, maybe six out of ten, looks like it'd take about 30 hours to beat, I have 57 cause I always tend to over level in these types of games, The game is inconsistent, it'll hit you with a devistating scene after you time travelled delivering key info that should've made the half of the first part of the game never happen, most of the characters are bland, the game doesn't allow you to change a weapon you forge into one you can use if you decided to pick great swords at the start of the game, despite being able to use a forge to make your own weapons, armour and accessories for most of the game, the skill tree system is restrictive, the 2d mode made to call back to the series roots is inferior to the old games, And just realised I forgot about Tockington, but that's alright, so did everyone else. Edit: Something that is going in the review is the Church Symbols(very nerdy pls skip if you don't care about immersion) In game most of the churches serve Dragon Quest's Goddess, but there's two that don't, but in their churches they have the Goddess' Symbols in them, leave the icon on the minimap, that's for the player and why would you waste time making an icon that'll only end up confusing players, but the Idol's themselves can't be the same if they worship something else entirely.
