14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Spettacolare!
I've been playing the mainline Dragon Quest since the original, but I've only briefly dabbled with this spin-off series a couple of times. I tried the demo, and it didn't really capture me. Caught this on sale for $10 on Dragon Quest Day, and decided to give it a shot. The demo doesn't really do it justice. I think I'm a little spoiled by the jumbo demo for DQ Builders 2. There are constant goals in front of you between clearing new areas, scouting and sythesizing monsters, and collecting all the treasures. The seasonal system creating paths you can't take during other seasons means you can't get through any area too quickly, and is something of a minor puzzle sometimes. The puzzles are challenging without being too bad except for the one water puzzle in the late game. I don't know how anybody solves that one without looking it up or destroying their desk by bashing their head into it. If you're a blind play purist, you're going to be trying to get through that dungeon for a while. Sythesizing new monsters is enjoyable, and if you don't want to use a guide, there are some in-game ways to see what combinations will create. You'll just need to do a lot more synthesizing if you don't know exactly what you're aiming for. It's a must, because you'll never beat the game with scouted monsters alone. Start synthesizing early. The combat is likewise enjoyable, and only gets better as you build a stronger monster team. The tactics options are lacking a balanced option where monsters don't blast everything with the strongest, most MP draining ability they have, but you always have the option of directly controlling every monster's actions anywhere except the arena battles. Fast battle speed is nice once you're familiar with how combat works, and auto battle is nice for when you're just grinding away. Music is awesome as always in a DQ game. The ambiance is very much Dragon Quest. The storyline takes place during Dragon Quest 4, and I feel as if some of the events tying it to the Hero's journey are a little weak. The brief interlude where Psaro becomes the champion of the Arena does little more than slow down your progress in my opinion. Once you reach a certain point in the story, this becomes an Elseworld story where it deviates from DQ4 and becomes its own tale. Meeting the Chosen Ones after that point is actually quite smile-inducing. Overlooking some of the minor tacked-on elements tying it to the original story prior to the turn, it's quite an enjoyable story. Achievements aren't too tedious, and mostly happen as you progress the story without going out of your way. The only one that's going to take you a while is synthesizing a rank X monster. If you get to the end of the game and you've been scouting/grabbing eggs, you should only need a few hours to pull it off with a guide. Maybe less if you've been synthesizing more, or maybe more if you're going blind. Overall, I'm glad I gave it a chance, and now I'm excited for the upcoming Monsters game with Bianca and Flora.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 5 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Perfect game, I bought it on Nintendo switch and finished it. i emulated it on my phone and finished it, then i emulated it on my laptop and finished it, and now after 1 year I am buying it in steam and I want to finish the game for the 4th time.
The game sucks don't play it. The story is the weakest worst I have ever seen. things happen and are either instantly resolved or never brought up again. your character takes the moral high ground on things like stealing is bad because his mom told him and then proceeds to commit literal genocide because someone wanted to beat the guy he wants to beat first (which is never adressed later). Your companions literally do and say nothing plot related one supposed to do something and doesn't do it and the other throws a bottle of fire as distraction once and never anything after that for the whole game. The first few maps had like a theme going on but later they just say look the bad guy must be at the one castle in the middle of the map lets go there. The arena fights are relevant for the first 3 of them and then is put to the background. The moment you unlock area damage all fights are meaningless and instantly won for the rest of the game. (kinda true for all DQ games but still). Also the game feels 20 hours to long and become repetitive. The synthesing is kinda fun trying to make good creatures but honestly don't waste your time. feels like its made by a C tier development team. The japanese voice actors seemed like they were having fun at least. Go play DQ Monster joker instead.
Brilliant little time killer to be fair, it was a pleasant play through and a good reminder of my childhood playing the first DQM on my gameboy xD Story was a nice twist from the classic go to as well, fully intend to play withered world!
