Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Doom 3 is a strange game. Good at places, tedious when you know it. Still, it is certainly unique - a daring experiment to challenge those who scream at slow gameplay like being nastily exorcized with superior holywaterpower. It might be a one-playthrough-of-a-kind, but seeing what made it different still keeps the surveyors examining the misunderstood spin-off of Doom series. But this is only for the original game. Not for this port.

The remaster takes great strides to actively worsen the game that was supposed to be. Sure, you can applaud more ammo and on-armor flashlight all day, but they're not enough to offset such delighful gems as:

A complete removal of light from muzzle flashes. Mah PSX can't handle it, remove it, I don't want to feel the glowing might of weapons in the dark vastness of space!
Unskippable cutscenes: who cares about the gameplay in a Doom game, I'm all in for the story that challenges and buries Mass Effect whole! I'll make you eat the story even if you don't wanna so butter up!
No minigames for you despite being there in the original: Super Turbo Turkey Puncher is enough, you gaming lords - this is how we do on Mars and don't you dare to oppose my words!
Changed sound engine: I figured out that this plasmagun sounds way too epic and fast for you, so I made sure you'll hear every shot instead like it is played in foobar2000 on a loop! And the muffiness - you know, this game is set on MARS, I want you to feel how much less is the atmospheric pressure here than on Earth!
Much brighter levels: We are the MARS facility, we gotta output our energy sulphus somewhere! If you complain about the atmosphere of dread being gone, I'll squash you with the supreme light pressure once I get that supersolar panel from my paycheck!
Limited save slots: I'm feeling bad about your 2 TB HDD, so I'll limit the savegames for you!
And much more issues-for-life stuff that will make me feel like the ultimate encyclopedia!

If your gaming system is Steam Deck, sure, you can get this edition - you'll get the worsened but whole console experience and the original games as well, with that sweet little censorship (Red Cross, understandable though). The port-exclusive campaign isn't too good, but serviceable too.
If you have a PC though, avoid this edition.
Doom 3 and Doom 1+2 aren't that costly even without Steam sales. Mod that original Doom 3 version and have the ultimate BFG Edition at home. And having Doom 1+2 WADs launch in source ports is much more preferable than to be locked-in here, in this semi-corporate console rushjob. PS: most of the changes I've witnessed through playing the levels with the console commands on and in offline mode. The Lost campaign was done fully, however.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 9: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

When an Imp jumped out at me for the first time I sharted a little in my gaming chair
My favorite Doom-scary but easy to play. I like the darkness. It contributes to the scary atmosphere, yet the monsters are fairly easy to kill.

Doom 3: BFG Edition packages a controversial series entry with a fresh coat of paint, arriving at a time when its deviations from classic Doom feel less jarring. This edition includes the best-looking console version of Doom 3, the Resurrection of Evil expansion, a new 8-level mini-campaign, and Doom and Doom II with most of their expansions. While some frustrating technical quirks remain, the core experience shines through as a tense and atmospheric horror-shooter. The game casts you as a marine on a Mars research base where a teleportation experiment unleashes literal hell. Doom 3 excels at building dread, using superb sound design, intelligent lighting, and environmental storytelling to create a palpable sense of place before the chaos begins. The pace is slower and more deliberate than the originals, focusing on claustrophobic encounters and resource management over arena-scale chaos. Health doesn’t regenerate, and ammo is scarce, making every shot and every pickup count. Visually, the BFG Edition delivers the sharpest and smoothest version of the game to date, even if some textures and models show their age. The notorious flashlight mechanic is now a welcome toggle, freeing up a weapon slot. However, this edition introduces its own issues: long load times, intrusive auto-saves, an inability to remap controls, and a strangely stripped-down flashlight that no longer casts dynamic shadows. The included classics (Doom, Doom II) feel like an afterthought, presented with bare-bones menus and locked in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Verdict: Doom 3: BFG Edition is a solid, content-rich package that presents a compelling horror-FPS in its best light. While its gameplay remains a divisive departure from the series' roots, time has been kind to its atmospheric strengths. Technical missteps and some dated design hold it back from being the definitive edition, but for console players or those who missed it the first time, it's a worthy trip back to Mars.
