Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 3.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 9: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Goes for a Horror approach, which I appreciate, but it also plays slower than I'd like for a DOOM game. Most guns sound weak and lack impact, especially the Shotgun. The story is meh. So far, it just feels like a glorified tech demo meant to show off the (at the time) fancy shadows, set-pieces, real-time lighting, etc.
This game is very charming in it's presentation. It plays like a suspense shooter. There are little jump scares, and the combat stays fresh with the additional of new enemies often. If you'd played the later entries, there are actually some formative feelings here. If Doom 2016 is run and gun, Doom Eternal is jump and shoot, and Doom TDA is stand and fight, Doom 3 is look behind and shoot! There are many moments in this game the game hits you from different directions, right when you think you're 'safe'. It is the closest to horror FPS Doom has come. That said, it's not very difficult, even on the hardest difficulty, and the campaign is kinda short. For $10 or less, I say it's a big thumbs up and a good time
This is not as bad as people think. Its just something different.
I tried to enjoy this game, I really did. Doom 3 has a lot of good ideas, but it just doesn't feel good for me to play, and isn't what I personally look for in a FPS game, much less a doom game. Guns feel weak and function strange, the shotgun is basically ineffective outside of kissing distance, the game is REALLY dark which leads to more frustration than actual horror for me. I can see elements of a good game here, but it just didn't come together in a way I personally vibed with. For me, I'd rather play classic DOOM or Halo or something over this, because those games feel more fun for my preferred playstyle. Main theme is VERY good tho, the game is definitely worth it for that alone!
# DOOM 3: BFG Edition Review — 3/10 ## “They Added More Content, Improved the Flashlight… Still Forgot the Doom Part” **Rating: 3/10** Listen up, Marine. You thought the original **DOOM 3** was a slow, flashlight-powered horror expedition through Mars? Good news. The **BFG Edition** is here to solve the biggest problem nobody asked to be solved: “What if DOOM 3 had a better flashlight?” That’s right. The ultimate demon-fighting upgrade has arrived. Humanity’s greatest technological achievement: a flashlight that doesn’t require you to choose between seeing the monster and shooting the monster. The demons of Hell trembled. The Doom Marine finally got… a flashlight strap. This is the kind of innovation that makes you wonder if the UAC was actually researching teleportation technology or just trying to invent the world’s most expensive camping equipment. You were promised **DOOM**. You were promised a space marine who enters Hell’s backyard, kicks the door open, and turns demons into a tax write-off. Instead, **DOOM 3: BFG Edition** gives you a cinematic horror experience where the toughest man in the galaxy spends half his mission walking through abandoned hallways wondering: “Was that noise a demon?” “Was that noise a zombie?” “Was that noise just another identical room?” Congratulations, Mars. You have invented the world’s most dangerous office building. Now, to be fair, BFG Edition does bring improvements. The lighting is cleaner, the flashlight is more convenient, and the package includes extra content like Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil and the new The Lost Mission campaign. But polishing a slow-paced shooter does not magically turn it into the demon massacre machine people expected. You can put racing stripes on a tank. It’s still not a race car. The biggest problem remains: **DOOM 3 forgot why DOOM was DOOM.** Classic DOOM was pure violence. You weren’t some helpless survivor creeping through the dark. You were the reason demons needed backup plans. Then came Doom 64, which proved that DOOM could be darker and more atmospheric while still making you feel powerful. It was creepy, mysterious, and unsettling — but when enemies showed up, you brought the apocalypse with you. Modern DOOM took that lesson and injected it with rocket fuel. Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal looked at the Doom Marine and said: “What if Hell is terrified of him?” BFG Edition looked at him and said: “What if he had slightly better battery management?” The atmosphere is still excellent. The demons still look fantastic. The sound design still makes every corridor feel like it was designed by Satan’s interior decorator. But gameplay-wise? It’s a haunted house with a military budget. Want actual horror combined with elite combat? Play F.E.A.R.. Those enemies don’t wait behind doors for a dramatic reveal. They coordinate, flank, and make you feel hunted. Want maximum demon-slaying insanity? Play Painkiller. It’s what happens when someone gives a shotgun to a metal album cover and tells it to commit crimes against Hell. Want the old-school FPS speed and aggression? Play DUSK or Selaco. They understand that shooters are supposed to make you feel like a weapon, not a guy doing night patrol at a haunted Costco. Want a sci-fi shooter with actual atmosphere and storytelling? Half-Life already showed that research facilities can have personality. Gordon Freeman walked through Black Mesa and somehow encountered more memorable moments than a Mars base full of possessed scientists. Want a darker military sci-fi experience? Quake 4 is not flawless, but at least it remembers that a space marine should occasionally feel like a walking weapon instead of an employee investigating workplace hazards. And if you want classic DOOM turned into an absolute war crime simulator? Load up Classic DOOM with Brutal Doom or Project Brutality. Those mods take the Doom Marine and restore him to his natural habitat: **Being a problem that Hell has to solve.** Even DOOM 3 map mods with classic DOOM gameplay or Brutal DOOM mechanics prove the issue was never the Mars facility. The issue was making the player feel like they were visiting Mars instead of conquering it. DOOM 3: BFG Edition is not a bad game. It is a confused one. It is a beautifully crafted horror shooter wearing a DOOM costume while constantly checking the mirror to make sure the costume is still on. It has: ✅ Better flashlight ✅ Extra content ✅ Great atmosphere ✅ Excellent visual design But it also has: ❌ The pacing of a space documentary ❌ More hallway tourism than demon warfare ❌ A Doom Marine who sometimes feels like he needs a hall pass before firing a weapon **Final Verdict: 3/10** Recommended? No. Play Classic DOOM. Play DOOM 64. Play Modern DOOM. Play Brutal DOOM. Play Project Brutality. Play F.E.A.R., Painkiller, DUSK, Selaco, Half-Life, or Quake 4. Because the real horror of DOOM 3: BFG Edition isn’t the demons. It’s realizing that after all the upgrades, all the improvements, and all the extra content… **The flashlight got a buff. The demons got new victims. But the Doom Marine still forgot to bring the DOOM.**
Less run and gun Doom, more creeping horror with surprise gun battles Doom, but still an authentic Doom experience with demons, weapons, and digital gore galore. Love it, even in 2025. BFG Edition runs great on a modern rig with mid level specs. Rip & Tear!
GOAT 3: GREAT GAME EDITION.
7/10. The BFG Edition is a weird package that leaves me with a constant love/hate relationship. On one hand, it's highly convenient. It includes the Resurrection of Evil expansion, the Lost Mission, and makes the game incredibly easy to run on modern systems right out of the box. On the other hand, it makes several changes that actively ruin the tension of the original game—most notably, the flashlight. In the original Doom 3, you had to actively switch between holding your weapon or holding your flashlight, which made the pitch-black corridors terrifying. The BFG Edition mounts the flashlight to your armor, making the game significantly brighter and stripping away a huge chunk of the survival horror atmosphere. Along with changes to ammo counts and reduced mod support, it's a solid remaster but a compromised version of a classic. Pros: + Features the Lost Mission and comes packaged with the base game and DLC in one neat launcher. + Runs incredibly smoothly on modern displays and handhelds. Cons: - The armor-mounted flashlight completely ruins the horror atmosphere and tension of the original. - Simplified difficulty and reduced physics jank take away some of the game's unique charm.
