i think theres something wrong with me but i actually like this game and the shotgun is not that bad you just have to use it as a melee weapon
**In this review, I'm specifically talking about the original Doom 3, not the BFG Edition** I loved it, took me about a week to complete the main story and I loved almost every part of it. I say almost because there are some frustrating parts, what comes to mind is Caverns 1, but other than that this is a great entry in the Doom series. Coming from the previous entries, it took a while for me to get used to how the weapons function, they're a bit different from Doom and Doom II but I'm going to caulk it up as a "me problem". Ex: The shotgun has more pellet spread than Doom and Doom II's shotgun. Fair difficulty, at least in my experience as a player of few first-person shooters. My only issue is it becomes increasingly frustrating to have to redo difficult parts all over because you get killed and forgot to save before hand, always make sure to save after some encounter with demons or something. Other than those issues, it was fun shooting demons with the large arsenal of weapons, looking for secrets, and the story itself having more relevance in gameplay is an amazing addition. I'd recommend this to players who are obviously into FPSs and the Doom franchise in general, because as a Doom fan, this is a great game.

yeah this is not doom but its still a great horror fps game if you like a game like half life or fear give this a shot
Despite the fact that this game is completly diffrent from any other DooM game, opting to focus on Surrival horror instead of fast paced bullet hell run and gunning. I think this game is worth a try for any DooM fan, I like the dynamic of having to choose between proper sight and combat and having to manage my stanima for dodging. The weapons are alright, I love the soul cube I think its a fantastic super weapon and is a fun way to heal (I might also replay on nightmare considering that it revolves around it) and is one of DooMs better super weapons imo. Enemies are great and I love the hitscanner enemies. Tho I do have a few minor complaints, mainly how I was practically showered with ammo (No I was not playing on the BFG edition) and I think I only ran out of ammo once and I could mostly use the shotgun, and also dispite the fact that I love the enemy design, I don't think a lot of the encounters were that difficult and that the devs didn't try as hard to go crazy with em or do interesting ideas. Also final boss was pretty eh, but thats to be expected with doom bosses. But yeah as with the base campaign, I like it! Decent surrivial horror and nice world building and story for a doom game I must say, quite a welcome suprise (I will proably add my thoughts to the Resurrection Of Evil Expansion once I play it).
so far it's a pretty standard doom game. shoot enemies, find hidden loot, find random tidbits of lore etc etc.
My passion.
