Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Started game. Completely lost. Don't have time for multiple hour youtubes. Considered returning. Found "Let's Learn Distant Worlds 2" by "Example of Play" about post-patch game play. Now ready to dominate the galaxy with the Atuuks. I never thought I'd find a space simulator where the economy felt slightly believable and, a bit like Victoria, conflict feels realistic in that it advantages economic attrition and technical superiority more than micro tactics.
There's something here, there really is, but whatever that thing is, the devs don't know what it is, and they don't know how to make that thing feel good to play. Is this a 4X? Grand Strategy? Simulator? An Idler-Civilization Builder? Whatever it is, I want to like it, but the UI, clunkiness of gameplay, and a weird hollowness in a seemingly large game, will make you forget this is somehow a sequel. Genuinely best of luck because there's something here, I'm just not sure what that is. CodeForce have been supporting the game, and do offer mod support, so that's an indication that they're trying.

Only 70% positive? Seems awesome to me. One of the best 4X games out there, and certainly the most unique in the way you can automate as much or as little as you like. I rarely finish a Stellaris game because it becomes a pain later game, but with the automation tools here I don't see why I wouldn't finish DW2 games. So far no bugs. Still learning but that's all part of the fun. *Finished multiple games. Looking forward to some Shakturi in the next one.
I honestly don't know where to begin with all the things wrong with this game. if i can muster the effort to list everything in the future i will. Suffice to say, this game as massive potential, but i dont think the developers ever did a full play through with people who didnt know the game inside out. Everything is vague, ship auto names make no sense. Attack an under contruction enemy spaceport? nope, got to wait till its fully build. I've litterally sat here with a fleet in orbit of an enemy planet, with weapons that shoul work for bombardment. can i get them to do anything? nah, they just sit here like f*cking pixie dust
I want to love this game but its so broken. Fleets wont refuel despite having tankers, Mining outposts are completely fuel and freighters just hang out at stations. Resource shortages prevent building yet there is a massive amount of resources in the mining stations (and even if you wait and wait and wait no ship goes to get them.) I love the idea, I do and I keep hoping a new playthrough will change things but sadly it always seems to end the same way.
Great concept, but very poorly designed. Not even a rough gem - genuinely a bad game given its problems. Most notoriously, it is necessary for the AI to manage fuel supplies but it is completely inept at doing so - leaving fleets stranded in space most of the time. The UI is its main failing; navigating the map and (attempting to) manage message alerts is a constant fight, there is a lack of fine grain options particularly for fleet/ship logic, and many options are left opaque due to insufficient hyperlinks/galactopedia entries. The sound effects are ear-splittingly poor too. I would stay away - Galciv and Stellaris ultimately offer similar complexity but are playable.
Many good ideas let down by godawful execution. When your automated ship designer thinks your most basic weapon type is better then your most heavily researched type and insists on sticking it every where you know you failed at even the most basic of tasks. This sort of flaw with the automation, a key game feature, is endemic throughout the automation system. Can you simply turn off the bad automation and do those parts manually? Yes, but you'll soon rip your hair out in frustration at the tedium. Ship design, fleet creation, fleet control, all important automation systems that never seem to work properly. God help you if you want a fleet to fight off pirates because they will never seem to do anything. And all this is of course not helped by a miserable UI experience. Poor clarity for icons, terrible contrast for some empire colors, immense visual clutter as your empire scales up. It's just a messy experience. Even basic controls are iffy. The number of times I've tried to order a ship or fleet to do something and the game unselects what ever unit I was controlling when I try to move the camera to where I need them to go is just unreasonable. This is something so fundamental it shouldn't be an issue!
I have deeply enjoyed this game, it has so much stuff to explore and choices to make... i found the computer AI manager helpful to running your empire is your first few times playing, it will likely cost you the game in my opinion... but it makes a lot of good decisions and takes a lot of things off your shoulders while still giving you the feel of some control as you learn about cause and effects of decisions. the area that i recommend learning for yourself early on is ship design, the computer is using a similar design as your opponents, this means your ships are mostly designed to be generalist ships and not really focused on your empires specific needs or skills. i have had a lot of fun designing my specialized ships both for military and civilian purposes... i have found that its truely a pleasure to watch my fleets encounter large AI fleets that out weigh my fleets in strength yet my ships punch above their weight and break their backs with good tactics and preperation. i hope that many of you experience this and find the same joy i did... especially when its the annoying pirates turn to be raided lol... i have tried my hand at diplomacy and its a rich area in the game but the end game threats ae brutal and if i am going to be at war and fighting to survive in my galaxy i prefer to be the end game threat and laugh when they show up threatening me with war.... whats one more lol. i love this game and recommend it highly but i will be honest i think it has a lot of room for growth. hope you enjoy it.
