As a kid I was warned about sex, drugs and rock & roll. No one ever warned me about swords, dinos and heavy metal. But seriously, I generally avoid souls-likes because I'm trash at them and I like my games easy. This one drew me in with dinoswords, and kept me in with its simplicity. Solid graphics aside it feels a lot like this game would've been something released in 2001, but heavily lauded for being ahead of its time, which doesn't sound like the compliment that I intend it to be. The gameplay itself invokes a sense of nostalgia, mixed with souls-like combat and dinosaurs. This would CERTAINLY have been a "pass the PS2 controller around with your friends on a school night and create a formative memory" type of a game. While the level designs are a bit flat, the variety of assets (especially after the first level) add a lot of interest as you make your way through the game. However, the developers' skills as character designers and animators REALLY comes alive with the bosses themselves. The styracosaurus boss, Horn? Absolute peak design. The sound design is okay, but the soundtrack itself is great. The boss music is legendary, very Mick Gordon-esque with a primal flare to it. The controls aren't the greatest but they're not bad, certainly not a deal breaker. It took me 6.5 hours to beat (again, suck at souls-like. I spent about 50 or so deaths on Akai), and it was fun the whole time. Not every boss had a perfect kit (the sty may have been gorgeous, but he was also annoying), but there were more fun mechanics than frustrating ones. 11/10 ending, it's the perfect way to wrap up a game that takes its story seriously for... well, for being what it is. If you want a game where you can go in, have fun, and get out, it's worth the $20 easy. If you're looking for anything deeper than fighting dinosaurs with medieval weaponry to a sick guitar riff, this ain't it.

I'm not gonna say this game is good. There's jank, there's repetitive music, there's basic mobs that I wouldn't even describe as canon fodder, and the voice acting isn't even in the same zip code as decent. But after just that one sentence, I've already done too much thinking. I didn't get this game for polish, for story, for graphics. I didn't get this game to think, or to engage in deep lore or intricate gameplay mechanics. No, none of that. I got it because theres dinosaurs with swords. What other game allows you to play as a spinosaurus with a greatsword that is to it's body almost on par as Gut's greatsword is to his? That's right, none. What other game lets you bust out actual anime style moves as a frickin dinosaur with a frickin greatsword? Not a single one has the cahones. But this game does. That's why i got it, and that's why you should too. No complicated story, no several minute long cutscenes, no endless walking through a massive world. Just a beautiful blend of dinosaurs and swords

As is for $20 the game is not completely worth it in my opinion, the fodder dino npcs are so easy you generaly get them for free. The game still has a TON of bugs, so to be released for that price seems pretty nasty. Overall the story and creativity that went into making this game is amazing, the graphics and animations are top quality, but for the price and current bugs and playability its not worth the price.
dude i wish sex felt this awesome
I want with all of my heart to love this game, but it is so, so, so, so painfully unpolished and unfinished that it's unbearable. It seems like they took all of the wrong ideas from what made dark souls bosses "fun." Some of the attack wind up animations were so exaggerated with such a fast release window that responding was basically dumb luck. Especially considering how insanely clunky the controls feel. I was really hoping this would improve by the time the full game was released, but playing through the beginning felt absolutely no different than the demo in any capacity. You NEED to be critical of something you like in order to see it do better. I am not currently able to recommend this game to anyone until more time and effort is put into refining its features and polish the actual moment to moment traversal of the world. It feels as if the developer has had absolutely no time even playing his own game, considering that getting stuck on geometry constantly, the buggy and very low quality looking animation blending, and other various issues are immediately visible off rip. Please keep putting time and effort into this game. Quit listening to rabid fans who are too impatient and stupid to realize that them foaming at the mouth in anticipation of something does not make the end product better or arrive quicker. Take your time. Dot your I's and cross your T's. Refine animation blending, for the love of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god at least make the character models angle to match the slope they're walking on. There's no way you think that looks good, it looks "good enough" and quite frankly "good enough" simply just isn't when you're trying to stand alongside other titles in this genre. I am likely going to refund this until further notice, however if I see improvements I may consider buying it again. Don't take this as me ragging on this game, because it's not. I want to love it, but playing it feels like peeling my nails off one by one. 10/10 Concept 4/10 Execution Maybe put it back in the oven for a bit.
amazing game I changed the way I live my life now. Also I had no idea this is how the dinosaurs fought like this back in the day this is very cool and a great history lesson. Would recommend
EPIC. Is this the best gameplay ever? no. is this the best story ever written? no. But it's a Spinosaurus with a blade. Dinosaurs fighting with an epic soundtrack...do you really need more ?
I think that "Elden Ring" game and that "Dark souls" franchise copied DinoBlade. Im like 99% sure they forgot to add the Dinosaurs and swords part tho.... ⣿⣿⣿⡟⠃⠼⢽⣿⣿⠿⠻⠛⠻⢿⣿⠀⣾ ⣿⣿⣿⠁⠀⠀⠀⠙⠁⠀⠀⢠⡀⠀⢬⠃⣿ ⣿⣿⡟⠀⠀⠻⡄⠀⣇⠀⠃⠀⠘⡇⠀⠄⢿ ⣿⣿⡟⠀⠀⠀⢈⢸⡿⣦⣀⢀⣀⣴⣿⡆⢸ ⣿⣿⡇⠙⠳⠞⠁⠸⠷⠦⠈⠉⠉⠉⠀⠀⢸ ⣿⣿⣿⣦⠀⠀⠆⠀⠀⠤⠿⠂⠀⠀⠀⠀⢸ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣧⡄⠀⠀⠀⠈⣠⡼⠃⠀⠀⠀⢸ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠃⠀⠀⠀⠛⠉⠀⢀⠠⠀⠀⢸ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠠⠀⠀⠀⠀⢤⠘⠤⠁⢰⡆⢸ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠀⠀⠀⢠⠋⠤⡉⠐⡀⠀⢿⠸ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿⠀⠄⠀⠀⡘⢀⠆⠡⠀⠀⣈⠀ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⡇⠀⠀⠀⠀⡐⠈⠤⢁⠂⠀⡟⢰ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⡇⡀⠀⠀⠀⠠⠁⠂⠄⠀⣸⠁⣸ ⣿⣿⣿⣿⡇⠁⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠈⠁⢰⣿ ⣿⣿⣿⡿⢁⠆⠀⠀⠀⢀⣐⠀⠀⠀⢀⣸ ⣿⣿⡟⡁⠁⣼⡇⠀⠀⣿⣿⠀⡀⢀⣷⣿ ⣿⠏⡔⠀⣼⣿⡇⣀⠀⣿⣿⡆⣡⠘⣿⣿ ⢡⡞⢀⣾⣿⣿⣇⠀⠀⢿⣿⡇⠁⠀⣿
