Detective Grimoire

Petite enquête de meurtre avec en suspect une créature mystérieuse, quoi de plus normal. Les personnages aux traits et aux animations très cartoon avec des paysages aquarelle marchent super bien. J'adore le mélange des styles. Entièrement doublé, ce qui est agréable. Chapeau aux acteurs. Un très léger "reproche" (mais vraiment c'est pour pinailler), c'est que lors de moments "cinématiques" les dialogues défilent tout seuls, on ne peut pas les passer nous-mêmes comme le reste du jeu. Le jeu n'ayant pas de traduction française, ayez un bon niveau. Il n'est pas verbeux mais il vaut mieux bien saisir tout ce que l'on vous dit puisqu'il faudra remettre de l'ordre dans les indices et formuler des questions.

Good music, artstyle and vibe. Is pretty much exactly what you expect it to be, pretty pleasant experience with low complexity.

Très sympa, très amusant, j'aime beaucoup le style graphique du jeu. J'ai vu qu'il y a une suite et je compte y jouer prochainement. Ce jeu est très bonne surprise.

I played this after the sequel 'Tangled Tower'. It's quite short and not as polished, but all of the ingredients that make 'Tangled Tower' great are already present: Excellent artwork and animation, great music and voice acting, and an intriguing story. If I had one complaint, it's that the puzzles are way too easy. 'Tangled Tower' did this much better, and the puzzles there were also more original. I'm even more hyped for the third installment, now!

Cute little game, though not a lot of substance to it. The visuals are cute, the music does feel like it belongs in a murder mystery game; in fact, the whole game isn't very murder mysteryy. It's by all means not a bad game, just don't have your expectation set high if you are interested in actual mystery and puzzle solving games. The plot is quite bland and uninspiring, I don't know how we ended up with the final verdict, the lines are kind of cliche, and I don't understand why half of the suspects are even present. Other negative reviews have pretty detailed lists of pros and cons, I mainly wrote the negative review because I bought the whole trilogy full price and I'd advise any potential buyers to wait for a sale; since it is overwhelmingly positively reviewed, one negative isn't gonna hurt it. Type Help is free while this game is like two and half hour of simple visual novel, definitely a cute little game to play when on sale, not necessarily worth the full price.

Fun little detective game that I enjoyed, reminded me almost of a quaint mix of Scooby Doo and Gravity Falls esque cryptid mystery. The art is quite nice, I enjoyed the designs of the characters and the voice acting overall was well done. There's just enough mystery and intrigue between the suspects to keep you engaged in wanting to find the next piece of evidence. Not the longest title, I recommend using a guide if you're stuck since finding certain pieces of evidence can be a bit tricky. The interactive puzzles sometimes left something to be desired, some of them seeming far too easy and others being slightly mechanically confusing. For the selling price of $7 there's a reasonable 3-6 hours of fun to be had depending on how good you are at deduction and puzzles, and on sale for $1.39 I absolutely recommend it if you want a charming short mystery game that sets up the groundwork of a larger story.
