A phenomenal and beautifully crafted game with good music all about trains doing tricks with amazing boss fights. I heavily recommend this game. Also it has Rin Penrose in it so ++ :}

Denshattack has commonly been described as "Tony Hawk” with trains but I dont think that does this game justice. The art style definitely is Jet Set Radio but the gameplay is faster and dont get me started when you build enough meter for the rainbow tracks where the gameplay and visuals are 100% bonkers. Most levels are linear with achievements and scores like a Tony Hawk level (i.e. the linear ones like in Downhill Jam or the Mall level in Tony Hawk 1) but also ranks based on time, when you crash you go back to a checkpoint and only lose your current combo and the clock keeps ticking. The achievements are usually collecting items in the level, doing tricks in certain parts of the track and also finishing a track without crashing once. You will need to do all of them to get the gold medal for the level. There are also levels that are races, open ended mission based and boss fights. The boss fights are crazy good and personally the highlight of the game. The boss designs are so incredible and make good use of the mechanics. The first boss fight I could only describe as “train Voltron Barbie”, something you would expect Suda51 to come up with. The races Im not sure add that much given you are already racing against the clock to get the gold medals, the mission levels are open ended areas but learning the layout is an extra step if you want to get all 3 missions done in a decent amount of time and too easy to get lost at the start but once you get it, they are alot of fun too. Total recommend, I haven't had this much fun playing a game since Hi-Fi Rush and will likely be a top 10 all time game for me.
