Reviews
This review comes from a huge DnD fan. This game just fails flat on everything it tries to achieve. There is 0 roleplay, the story is ok, but it's just NPCs spouting exposition at you. The game is 99 percent combat, this could be fine if the combat evolved at all. You barely grow stronger, the things you do at level 1 will be the same as max level. This is probably the only game, where i get annoyed when i level up, because all my upgrade choices are either bad, meaningless, or RNG dependent. The only piece of equipment you can have on your characters are the weapons and even they are bad and depend on RNG. The cherry on top is that the game takes every opportunity to cheat and make you feel like a bozo for playing good. This is hard to explain, it's more of thing you notice during play, but the most constant thing is that enemies have effects that are not listed, move and attack beyond their reach, and the worst offenders are the bosses, who completely ignore taunts/blocked paths move and attack however they wish multiple times a turn and summon infinite adds. It's a real shame, because the presentation of the game is great(the art style and ability animations), but there is no reason to play this instead of BG3. Update to the review: Some of the achievements are broken and do not unlock (3 did not unlock for now). Got to love playing the campaign for 10+ hours to not unlock the achievement for beating it, and the only way to attempt to unlock it again is to replay the whole thing.... amazing.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 5: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I tried to like it. But amateurish writing, (somewhat decent concept) but quickly shallow gameplay, and the poor selection of heroes is just too much to overlook. They had so much possible here, but just played it too safe and generic.
The game uis fun but the community needs scenario and map builder for custom campaigns
The critiques are reasonable, I read them all. But, the game isn't meant to be BG3. It is very fun, especially as you get to scratch the D&D itch without personally DM-ing. I hope it gets a few more adventures/campaigns, as the campaigns are somewhat short. I do think it could use some improvement, but as it is: it IS FUN, it could be MORE FUN
Very short game. Boring dialogues. Lackluster cards. Game still has lots of bugs. Lobbies are completely dead so if you dont have your own friends who paid for the game to play with, then you gonna be playing by yourself. No character creation, customizations have been nerfed a lot. No more masks or gloves. No lobby with painting room or social gathering. They pretty much took all the fun, interesting things out, and replaced it with a boring, empty filled maps with poor design and basic leveling. Bosses are again...boring. The death dice that makes you miss is SOOOO predictable and happens way too much. They could have done so much more here but instead made a game a 1st year dev student could throw together in an UE tutorial at home.
This is a nice little tactical battle game that feels a bit like a board game when playing. I enjoy it when I want a break from overly complicated RPGs. D&D is a skin, but it suits the game. D&D mechanics are not present, but the flavor of playing a D&D campaign is well done. Good voice acting.
Great game experience! Graphics and flow of game are outstanding. Combat is easy to complete except when the combat has to fight for space with the environment - eg. our party had to move the screen around to see the combat dice but it wasn't a big deal overall. Warhammer Quest (tabletop) might feel at home with this game. Leveling is on the fly so changes mid combat can impact the outcome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
I didn't play the original Demeo, but I had fun with this one. As frustrating as this game can be, dear lord this game needs an undo button. The number of time you make mistakes because of how you have to move your pieces around will have you screaming for that undo button. Also that critical miss roll comes up waaaay more then it should. These things said it was still an enjoyable game.
I recommend the game. Release was too broken for long (balance and bugs), but now it's way better. Fun both on VR and desktop. More fun when playing coop. The difficulty doesn't scale with the number of players, nor their level. You must choose the difficulty at the beginning of a campaign or mission, and can't change it during a game. It's a bit weird, because in the end the difficulty of a dungeon is based on: - The number of characters - The level of characters - The difficulty picked (between 1-4) - If enemy respawn is disabled or not - If the setting to throw two dice after a fail is enabled or not It's awkward that all of this has to be considered, and good luck to find the right difficulty for each of your game. Gameplay looks very much like Demeo, with added lore, and campaigns. Gameplay mechanisms are identical, but there's a clear difference in how we the game is played. Battlemarked is more forgiving. Numbers (damage, HP, etc) are all increased up. Demeo was very "puzzle-like", where you had to be extra careful on each turn to what to do, in what order, to stay alive. Battlemarked is way more casual, regardless the difficulty. Also, revives are infinite. It's definitely more relaxed, and might not be appealing to more hardcore gamers. Despite the superior content, the game feels less deep than Demeo. The difficulty settings were updated by the dev recently, but the game is still too easy overall. I can do a one shot dungeon with only 2 characters with difficulty 4/4 and no respawn, when the game is designed for 4-characters parties. That said. Spent 260 hours (70 hours in coop) and counting in the game. It's a bit addictive, polished, great sound design and graphics. Stills feel like "small game" because of the lack of depth. I recommend playing the game with at least a friend to see how you like it. Oh, and it was less expensive than Demeo at the release, which is also great.
Not as good as original Demeo in my opinion. Having to play through with all the narrative is annoying, especially with multiple players having to get through the narrative individually. Can take forever. We just want to play through a dungeon like in Demeo.
