Jonathan had spent months chasing listings that vanished overnight, landlords who never called back, and rents that seemed designed to keep people like him out.

Then, at last, he found it: a modest apartment in an old building, cheap enough to afford and decent enough to call home.

For the first time in years, Jonathan felt like life was finally giving him a break. He had a set of keys in his pocket, a roof over his head, and the chance to start over.

But some places are cheap for a reason.

And life had other plans for its newest tenant...
