Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Sep 8 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

It's like a half-decent recreation but there's a bunch of questionable design decisions, the game is easier with no additional challenge for old fans, and feels cheapened once you start noticing the ai-generated and upscaled assets all over the place that shouldn't even be here. Just try the original for a fraction of the cost and figure out for yourself if the changes here are really worth paying 5 times as much.
♥♥♥♥ this game. An easier and much worse version of the original that completely kills the atmosphere in certain areas for like quintuple the price. Not worth it at all, and they haven't made any strides to change/patch the game to address difficulty and performance issues + bugs.
Bastardized remake of the original. The only positives I can mention are a few quality of life changes like a clothing locker, being able to speed up time and the option to suspend an infinity run and continue it later. Everything else about the game is negative. Removal of an artystyle in favor of uncanny valley "realism" graphics. A lot of characters just don't even look like the person they're based on. No returning voice actors, with the vast majority of them not fitting their characters or just straight up ruining it. Tons of censorship. AI used to upscale the graphics turning them into unrecognizable slop. Extremely overpriced, especially with all of the DLCs tacked on. I'm a huge fan of the Dead Rising series. I have 100%'d every game, including this one. I cannot recommend this game. If you want to get into the series I would recommend buying the 2016 port or DR2:OTR instead. I would urge you to avoid Dead Rising 4 and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster unless you want to experience the series at it's worst.
As other reviews have said if this is your first dead rising game maybe stop playing and switch to the original, while the graphics and updated controls i will say are quite nice the overall feeling of dead rising is lost, there is 0 challenge in this version whatsoever to the point of it being actually boring. the recast for the VAs is also ass they completely butcher the characters. the fast forward mechanic in idea is great but so many player will undoubtedly miss quests and even discourage exploring the mall during down time. while you can definitely have fun with it as a long time dead rising fan id say just go back and play 1 and 2 I guarantee youll have 2x as much fun
Without going into detail, I would just like to say that if you can get the original Dead Rising 1 with an unlocked frame rate, then you should. This version is inferior to the original, with some content cut out. I pre-ordered this game at full price, completed it once, and stuck with the original.
i wish i could refund this game, i tried so hard to get this thing to run smoothly and it just will not i even upgraded my pc for this and not even that worked, come to find out many other users were having the same problem i love dead rising and this was an absolute disappointment, i highly regret purchasing this
Played the demo and the game ran great. Awesome. Waited for a sale... The game finally goes 50% off. I buy the game buuuuut it runs like garbage. Same cutscenes as the demo... same levels too but the final version runs like trash. Even the cutscenes stutter. What even is going on with this game? Capcom, how could you butcher performance like that? Also the game crashes when you're changing settings. Doesn't matter how low you set them, it always runs terribly. I can't shrug this off. I gotta get a refund.
To put it simply, I can't recommend this whenever the original is available and better in a ton of ways. Dead Rising was a game that I have always felt was a little brother to Dead Rising 2, with 2 improving almost every aspect. Thus, DRDR was a chance for Dead Rising 1 to take part of what worked with 2 and backport it into Dead Rising 1. Instead, all that's been done here is they've made Dead Rising 1 but worse. Starting with gameplay, in terms of controls and feel it plays like the 2006 release. A real positive I can say is that skill moves are now significantly easier to pull off, leading to me using a few more of them a ton more. Another benefit of this version is that the small chainsaw got nerfed to hell, meaning I can actually use it while still having fun. There's a solid few weapons that are just worse in this version however, and I don't understand why. The shopping carts got hit the hardest, with it taking 12 years to start up, handle like ♥♥♥♥, and you move slower than Frank's default walking speed. Some weapons like the plywood are way worse now as well, since Frank weirdly takes longer to start up a swing, and thus pretty much removed them from play entirely. One other thing probably specific to the PC release, but I don't like the new controls for cars. Using mouse to accelerate instead of W just doesn't feel right, and I wish that it was like 2006. Survivors I find in this version are significantly less fun to save in this version as well. While they improved the survivor AI (not enough, they still constantly bump into each other), the reason they are less fun to save is due to the zombie AI. Zombies in this game are lobotomized, just not attacking any survivors or hell even Frank sometimes. The risk factor to saving survivors is just gone. Beyond this, zombie population is way the hell down, which for a game marketed to take advantage of the newer hardware is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ baffling. Especially in places like the maintenance tunnels, you notice that zombie just aren't there when they should be. Psychopaths are also less fun to fight in this version. This is because they lengthened the attack animations which for the most part means that all attacks are slower on a psychopath. The exception to this is Kent, who now has his forward charge last way too long. He is able to hit you when you dodge past him due to this, and when he does 2 blocks of health per attack, you will find yourself dying quickly if you aren't extremely careful. The new survivor affinity system also makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense in this game, since you can't take survivors out into the mall from the security room. There is no point to raising affinity, and it seems like a waste of development time. What I'm way more confused about is the stuff they didn't add to this version. One of my biggest problems with Dead Rising 1 is that weapons don't have enough spawn locations, leading to stuff like the golf club, excavator, and guitar getting way less use and thus you rely on stuff like the machete and small chainsaw way more. In DRDR, they change no spawn locations. You still have to go to Paradise to get a guitar and the entrance plaza to get a hockey stick. They also didn't add any of the stuff DR2 added to make this game better. I'm not referring to combo weapons, those can stay in the future entries. But why in the hell did elemental damage not make it into this game. Same with distraction items beyond the hunk of meat(which I found didn't distract half the time anyway). Why is there no handheld explosives, beyond a Molotov that you get for a total of like 6 in game hours and is useful for no bosses and not that effective against zombies? The only new weapon is a rocket launcher that is locked to overtime mode, and isn't anything special. The other things that are significantly worse is the voice acting, the censorship, and the AI art. There is a new voice cast across the board, and they are at best on par with the original, with characters like Frank and Brad being significantly worse. The censorship of this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ travesty, making Cliff a way worse story, Kent way worse, and the removal of erotica leaves Cheryl's request extremely awkward. They also didn't remove any of the shots that stayed on Jessie's or Isabella's ass or tits, so these shots as well stand out way more. Finally, a ton of the background details (boxes on shelves, etc.) now use AI to improve the texture, and as a result are now almost illegible. Somehow, because Capcom was too cheap to hire an artist, they made texture that look worse that those from 2006. While this is still a good game, I can't recommend this to anyone over the original which is regularly on sale for like 5 or 10 bucks.
