About

you got yourself an apartment, and secured a temp data entry job- just to keep you afloat till something better comes along. YOUR OFFICIAL TITLE IS A DATA CONVERSION OPERATOR, but you're really more like a warm body who types up all the junk computers still can't read.

you go to work & process the images displayed on your terminal, and type up whatever random text is in front of you. Whatever can be made out, that is.
Sometimes the mail you receive is a little strange- letters and lost mail, some mangled and twisted, that have travelled from place to place with nowhere else to go.
Sometimes, it feels like it's talking to you directly through the screen...

USE YOUR KEYBOARD to type in various prompts, and attempt to decipher damaged images
MULTIPLE ENDINGS & buried secrets to uncover
NO TWO PLAYTHROUGHS are exactly the same (Estimated playtime: 120min per run)
A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF MAIL to voyeur through, and catch glimpses into other lives
ATMOSPHERIC HORROR MOOD with rich sound designed to crawl under your skin
Key re-binding is available, but a keyboard with Function Keys and Control Keys (Insert, Page Up/Page Down) is strongly recommended.

Good spooky time. More atmospheric even if it feels like it's constantly setting you up for a jump scare. Dev is easy to root for.
1oo% serious when I say I cried from stress twice while playing this game. Absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loved it, first game I've ever put the effort into getting all the achievements
DEAD LETTER DEPT. IS an fantastic, immersive and disturbing work simulator indie-horror game, that also contains an hard hitting emotional theme, with an unsettling, cold and isolating world design. Played it for 4 hours and it kept me focused onto playing it and in the attempt to solve my task. only got one out of many endings for now

I LOVE IT
Hi You, I'm writing to let you know that I'm making ends meet and
WHY DID YOU READ THIS?
. I just picked up this new [strike]game[/strike] job as I'm new to this place and I [strike]kinda[/strike] really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything up at that previous one. I've switched keyboards, multiple times, and ended up with the one I'm most comfortable with for typing and editing all sorts of weird
entries
that I should be annotating. Still, I ultimately feel like I can't control what I'm writing, rather I'm just writing what I'm told
or what my body tells me to
. I wish I could explain it better. Or at least tell you that the pay is decent, but at this point all this is probably just a form of masochism. There is repetition that might steer others off, but at this point, it makes sense to me. I might change my mind later, or just exhaust myself. I cannot, in good faith, recommend any of this to anyone. But the game is good. Real good, if you're into typing, mystery, and finding out what's in the next entry that's presented to you. Don't do it. Sincerely, You
I love work simulators and I'm easily scared. This was basically tailor-made for me.
good game broh. 9/10
Finished my first playthrough just now, and genuinely quite impressed. The atmosphere is quite creepy, and it manages to genuinely be a good typing game on top of a good horror game. There were a few times during the walking portions that felt a little slow and the lighting was so dark i was sort of fumbling around, but that also felt intentional to what the game is trying to tell. I look forward to trying to get a few different endings, and was quite pleased by what was able to spring forth from this passion project.
Everything about this game is finely crafted to make you uncomfortable, so if that's your thing, this is an easy recommend. It goes so far beyond the classic flickering lights or cheap jump scares. The gritty, unclear art style, the bleak walk into work, even the hard to read letters that force you to focus up, zoom in and maybe get closer to the monitor while the off-putting sounds permeate your senses. The mundane, almost boring task you need to undertake is a stroke of genius. While your reality falls apart, you're stuck deciphering a 6-year old writing to his grandma, which makes everything so much more grating. I have a hard time thinking about anything negative to say about it. Maybe the work days can get a bit long at times? But I've only played it once and I was focused on doing the job properly (or almost), so maybe that's on me.

Only played through once, but will revisit this review once I have a few more runs under my belt. Moody, creepy, completely engrossing. Soundtrack is perfect, art style is nostalgic while always being somehow wrong (in a good way). Some awesome social commentary on the nature of automation and wage labor under a dying capitalist empire. This thing, whatever it is is worth your time, check it out.
