Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 16.71/day in the week to Aug 24 → 27.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Dying Light was much more fun.

The story is HALF A STORY. They stopped the story RIGHT when it was actually interesting.
I don't write many reviews, but Dead Island 2 is one of the most surprisingly fun games I've picked up in the last couple years. I had a good time with the first game, although it definitely wasn't perfect, so when I picked this game up and it was just a 100% upgrade in pretty much every area, I realized I'd just picked up a gem that would keep me entertained for a good long while. I've broken down a few of the elements of gameplay and given them a score based on my experience below. The story - 5/10: This is the weakest part of the game by far, and it has the same issue as the first game: It's predictable and fairly rote. Some of the NPCs are fun, most are either forgettable or annoying. The story beats are just "go here, do this thing for someone, and move on." Standard stuff, nothing amazing. I didn't start caring about the story at all until about 2/3rds through it, but honestly the final third of the story finally grabbed me. Gameplay - 9/10: I wouldn't have gotten far enough in the story to care about the final third if the gameplay had been even on par with the first game, which was fun but shallow. Instead, DI2's gameplay blew me away This is where the game really shines. The combat is fun in all areas, with few tedious mechanics or uninteresting ideas. The gore is great, the weapons feel unique and each support a different gameplay style that you'll discover as you go through the game. Killing zombies hasn't been this fun in ages, and while I have some gripes with the inventory system and character progression, the core combat and movement mechanics are extremely solid and make up for pretty much every gap the other areas may leave. Side quests - 7/10: The side-quests are actually just more fun than the story missions are, with some of the most memorable characters, stories, and lore reveals coming from those quests. There are some that have poorly designed boss fights or silly/repetitive challenges, but the framing of those mundane tasks is interesting and keeps them fresh enough to feel like completing them was worth it. Some of the DLC side quests are... deeply frustrating (especially SoLA), but in the same turn, they give some of the most emotionally compelling content in the game, so the inconsistency makes those pieces hard to pin down. Anyway, all things considered, this is a solid 8/10 game that is worth at least a playthrough. If you've got friends who have it, it becomes immensely more enjoyable and brings it to a solid 9/10 for the good old-fashioned zombie-killing nonsense it allows you to get up to. I highly recommend this for fans of zombie games who just want to have a great time hacking and slashing through hordes and enjoying the journey and set pieces that the game puts in front of you for what it is.
Fun as flock :D
