Reviews
If you are a gamer, you owe it to yourself to play Dark Souls. It is a classic. It is simultaneously a master piece and a disaster in terms of game design. One of my favorite games of all time. It is the dark souls of Dark souls.

This game is still good the mechanics are decent and the boss designs are great but the only issue is dodging because when you dodge with a boss or enemy you can get hit even after the attack so I will advice you to use a shield. But other than that everything is good.
Note this is my first time getting into the Fromsoft Soulslike games and did a blind playthrough for the most part. Without using a guide I felt like I was just stumbling through the game while missing basic essentials when it came to just about everything. My character build was far from perfect, I had a bunch of misunderstandings about the core mechanics of the game until the later half like Estus Flasks upgrades and everything combat related (It's not explained what exactly the hollowing/humanity mechanic does; I thought you needed humanity to kill skeletons for a while). The most painful part of DS1 is the Bonfire placements. It should not take a few minutes to run up to a boss fight that can just one shot you. The worst offender for this is the Bed of Chaos boss fight. It's not even peculiarly hard it's just gruelling running up like that for every boss fight attempt. The game would flow way better having the Bon fire placements just before boss fights. Traversing the environment normally between boss fights to find the next Bonfire is more challenging and satisfying; especially when creating shortcuts to familiar areas. It was fun figuring everything out but I would not hesitate on a well curated guide for future Soulslike games playthroughs. I do like how I did miss some cool secrets and unique Npc interactions (It's annoying If you don't know what you're doing pretty much every Npc dies). The game would be definitely way more enjoyable on subsequent playthroughs or following a decent guide. The part I enjoyed the most was the very detailed and interconnected environment that the game takes place in. It is very cool seeing other levels from the one you're currently in.
I like the big snake thing in the shrine every time i see that goofy guy he brings a smile to my face
