Before I played CyberOps Prologue, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
This is a cool game being a tactical operator support for a tactical team, although i have a few issues regarding the gameplay, first we don't have the ability to setup our own waypoints anywhere on the map to creatively approach an objective or take down enemies or threats, this present a problem for me during gameplay, second, the abilities of the tac team is too limited and seems unable to cover their own flanks during combat, perhaps the ai should be programmed with default tactical formations and tactics that ensures their survivability, having silencers, smoke grenades, frag grenades, sc gas grenades and flash bangs to create diversions should make a perfect addition , also the abilitu to heal wounded team mates is also a plus. Well i would recommend this game though, and hoping that the dev would keep on improving the game to make our experience better.
Got my chance to play this today, I've looked at walkthroughs and reviews without getting spoiled too much. I'm still seeping through the tutorial part so baring in mind I'm still at the beginning, so this impression are just my initial thoughts: Solid voice acting, great music, aesthetic and visuals, cool story as well. It's helped given me some ideas and prompts as I'm looking to write stories myself. Will decide later on if I want to get the main game once I finish the prologue. A few downsides here; the tutorial can be a bit challenging somehow, a bit confusing with some bugs even if the game is sorta finished, but could do some minor updates as well--which brings us to the language menu, as most of these are not my languages/tongues, I had to use Google translate for the Portuguese part while trying to listen to the convo the team and characters have, I'm hoping there's a fix for it. Not the best, not extremely bad either, gameplay is slightly meddling but I can see where it's coming from, 7.3/10. If you like sci fi, cyberpunk, tactical-action-y stuff etc, could be great for you.
Graphic shimmering / shaking effect I find it unbearable. Doesn't look like you can disable it in the settings? Plus, I didn't find the hacking engaging at all. Also, the tutorial was not very easy to follow. It seemed to disappear at the end of the first floor, but then reappeared on the second floor. Then disappeared again, which led me to run directly into cameras and enemies. My first look playthrough in review comments section below:
Bardzo ciekawy system i interfejs, aczkolwiek fajnie byłoby zobaczyć język polski.
Finished the tutorial mission, then played the whole thing again without the hand-holding. Pros: + solid concept, visuals and sound. + using player's attention span as a resource is clearly genius. + easy to follow hacking metaphors, no tech degree needed. + helpful QoL micro-features like audible quips when your hacking processes are in danger and access to hacking actions from several different interface elements. Devs really thought it through. Cons: - Bug: Squad moving in stealth mode would often get stuck in doors that are parallel to their route. - LoS issues. Squad don't see further than 30 ft/10 meters across and would eagerly bump into the working turret if you don't scan around religiously. That brings us to.. - Pathfinding issues. "Road traffic" metaphor is inadequate. First target, last target and detours can't even be close to waypoints and exact path plotting. Also couldn't find a way to split the squad for the pincer movement. - Squad commander, well, she don't command on the field. No tactical movement, no covering flanks, no ambushes, basically you're babysitting a bunch of guys with guns. - Enemy issues. You can unlock doors, fry their devices, get into the shootout with their friends and they will be none the wiser. They don't even find bodies on the floor while moving around. - Not enough info in menus and tooltips. You got a guy with high Tech stat, it does what? You got a gal with high sensor stat, it helps how? How to heal them after the mission (this is truly intuitive, but still)? I got a feeling that nothing really matters besides HP pool and maybe armor. Don't know if some of the negative points are offset in the full game though. Overall it's fun to play, if a bit hectic, around 7/10 if your suspension of disbelief holds.
Frankly this is really good demo. Working, fun and it does explain the game mechanics really well. The reason for the negative review is simply due to the full game having simply too many bugs. Bugs that you don't find in the demo/prologue.
