Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 8.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Cultist Simulator is a game of apocalypse and yearning from Alexis Kennedy, creator of Fallen London and Sunless Sea. Play as a seeker after unholy mysteries, in a 1920s-themed setting of hidden gods and secret histories. Perhaps you're looking for knowledge, or power, or beauty, or revenge. Perhaps you just want the colours beneath the skin of the world.
In this roguelike narrative card game, what you find may transform you forever. Every choice you make, from moment to moment, doesn't just advance the narrative - it also shapes it.
Become a scholar of the unseen arts. Search your dreams for sanity-twisting rituals. Craft tools and summon spirits. Indoctrinate innocents. Seize your place as the herald of a new age.

In this 20-40 hour game, you'll:
Combine cards to tell your own story in a rich, Lovecraftian world of ambition, appetite and abomination. Corrupt your friends. Consume your enemies. There is never only one history.
Found a cult, dedicated to the Red Grail, or the Witch-and-Sister, or the Forge of Days. Recruit Believers and promote them to Disciples to serve as burglars, researchers, cat's-paws. Use your disciples to keep you fed - or feed on your disciples.
Unravel arcane, unacknowledged mysteries. Translate grimoires and glean their lore. Locate and pillage the Star Shattered Fane. Penetrate the realm of the Hours, and win a place in their service. Perhaps - if you are very cunning - you may even glimpse the Mansus.
Outwit rivals, investigators and the increasingly suspicious Authorities. Your own altered Appetites may force you to act abominably, but your Cause must not be stopped.
Transcend death with a story-driven legacy system. Perhaps your inheritors will complete the Rite of the Crucible Soul. Perhaps they'll find peace in a pleasing career. Perhaps they'll bring the Dawn.

Reviews
It's interesting in concept, but there's zero instructions. It does about nothing to help players learn or navigate the game. No helpful arrows when you pick up a card to show how it can be used. No indications of why certain things can't be used. The death states creep up on you suddenly, and if you don't have the resources already you often have a 60 seconds timer until your game is done. If there are warnings, they're poorly explained, much like the rest of the game. I'm intrigued by the concept, but it does zero fricken favors for it's players to help them to avoid wasting their time. I'll flip my recommendation if they do a usability pass, but for now.. Verdict: Infuriating Time Waster.

Preface: I only got this because reviews said it was hard to pick up and you had to learn the mechanics by trial and error. Honestly liked it more than I thought I would. The inability to do certain things frustrates me but probably because I don't have enough experience yet (I've only done 2 rounds). The lore doesn't interest me much but the writing is still good. It's also easy enough to ignore if you want to focus on the gameplay (scandalous to say about an AK game, I know) I like it but would never recommend it to someone unless I knew they would LOVE it.
어디까지나 주관적인 평가긴 한데, 텍스트 분량 ㅈㄴ 많은 주제에 턴제가 아니라 타임어택이 걸린 게임이라는 게 너무 치명적으로 힘듦...
Addictive. Use the pause button religiously.
overcomplicated but lacking depth
I've had this game for so long and put so many hours in it and yet never wrote a review so here it is. It's not a game for everyone, and the learning curve is steep. I have introduced others to it, and they all loved it as much as I did, but only one of those actually beat it like me. The others, years later, are still trying to figure it out when coming back to it. The mechanics of the game could be resumed in a single sentence. There is only one interaction. You put cards on verbs. BUT, it comes with exponential possibilities. You have to figure out what does what, and playing it kinda feels like you were trying to experiment with occult and alchemy and learn it on your own. It is rewarding when you figure out mechanics, but figuring them out is only the beginning, combining and planning for something greater is when this game becomes the most exciting. Even after years and over 400 hours in the game on Steam (I must specify, since I also bought the mobile version and have actually MORE hours on it), I feel unable to uninstall it. I still have less than 50% of achievements to go due to all of the variant endings. I feel everytime I play it, I can plan for a new objective, a new ending, and build a narrative to reach it. Every time will take me weeks to get through it with on and off game play, but it will always give me pleasure. This game is like no other. If you love it, you will look for more like it and with be met with the harsh reality that it is unique. Some games are similar, but never exactly what you are looking for. Even the actual sequel to it is a different kind of game (with its own charms). Some people argue that it is not even a card game, but the reality is that it's in a genre of its own and needed to be in a starter category, and from that category, you discover the game and learn it is much more than you expected, and discovering this is actually the main appeal of the game.
You will descend into madness both in game and in front of your computer. This is a journey full of fascination and dread in so many more ways than one. It's a great game, I recommend you buy it. I do not recommend you play it.
