About
Cronos: The New Dawn is a brutal third-person survival horror where you fight for the future by salvaging the past. Burn monsters before they merge. Extract souls from the living. Adapt or die.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.
In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.
You are a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts that will transport you to 1980s-era Poland.

In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal.
You can manipulate temporal Anomalies to clear a path through the desolate environment, and will have to scavenge for resources to replenish your limited ammo and supplies. Good preparation is key. Once in battle, split-second decisions can mean the difference between life
and death.
The creatures you kill won’t stay dead for long. Fallen enemies can be absorbed by others — through a grotesque process called Merging — to become faster, tougher, and far deadlier.
The only way to stop them? Burn their bodies. And do it fast.
If you don’t, you’ll face ever-evolving abominations that will push your combat skills to their limits.

Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.
But be wary: these essences have a profound impact on your journey.
The more you carry, the more haunted your suit becomes — increasing your prowess on the battlefield but also bringing with them whispers in your ear and flickers into your vision, edging you ever closer to madness.

Reviews
I'll say I made a mistake not playing the demo first and buing this on sale and not playing it within the 2 week refund window. But the gameplay is nothing new when comparing to older Resident Evil games. Getting through the first hour was fairly boring, fighting the same looking enemies like Its a game from 2012 and puzzle mechanics like "you can only carry 1 of these things that has a dispenser back 50 feet, so you either walk back or run the risk of not having it when you need it". The story was a bit too ambiguous to grab me with the unengaging gameplay. It feels a bit like Returnal in its telling, but if the game play had been as engaguing as Returnals is I would not be making this review. I give it a solid 5.5/10 and I most likely wont play anymore as it is not something that can hold my interest for more than an hour (most likely a me thing or anyone who has ADHD and needs more interactive gameplay to keep them engagued.) Was really hoping to like this, however, the horror elements were not scary enough to distract me from the simple puzzle loops and closed off environments in that first hour.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Great game. Only wish I bought it sooner
I had been meaning to try Cronos: The New Dawn for a while now, having previously thoroughly enjoyed SH2R, and... wow, color me impressed! The visuals... the atmosphere... the music... just incredible. No cheap thrills here and jump scares were legit - there were moments when I shrieked and well nigh leapt out of my skin! Just like in SH2R, and perhaps in an even better way, the Bloober team has perfected apartment horror. Also, massive props to ND-3576's voice actor, Kelly Burke, who did a phenomenal job capturing the myriad feelings of intense and palpable anguish, confusion, defeat, and anger. Now, onto the (minor) negatives. If you've played SH2R before, then you'll know that combat is fairly annoying because James is slow and sluggish - you can imagine that this problem is magnified in Cronos because of the traveler's armored suit and gear. If you are frugal and a minimalist IRL, those are great transferable skills in game because inventory and resource management is damningly hard. As for the story, well, I found it to be a bit convoluted, and just as the pieces were finally starting to fall into place, the ending left me scratching my head. You're going to have to refer to the notes, travelogs, and such multiple times to make sense of things. But then again, these are minor and for anyone who might want to try the game - it is truly incredible! I can't wait for Bloober to, hopefully, dive into this world again and create something equally spectacular.
Fantastic game. Finally a game with challenge which is sorely lacking in many modern games these days. Most of the complaints about the game that I've seen is due to people giving up too quickly. The game is tough, granted especially early on but that's the beauty of it it's meant to be tough since it's survival horror. You have to manage your health and ammo throughout, be creative with group enemy encounters. It's pathetic how so many people nowadays want a game to hold their hand throughout. Story is good, characters are also good with some impressive voice acting / dialogue. Environmental detail is top notch alongside the atmosphere - it really makes you believe that you're in some post apocalyptic setting. If you're a fan of old school Resident Evil and cats then you'll love this. Such is our calling.
This game is infatuated with the idea of having enemies attached to walls that shoot projectiles at you/grab you. Aside from that, it's pretty good and runs perfectly fine for me. Obvious Dead Space-akin game.
