About

Cronos: The New Dawn is a brutal third-person survival horror where you fight for the future by salvaging the past. Burn monsters before they merge. Extract souls from the living. Adapt or die.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.
In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.
You are a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts that will transport you to 1980s-era Poland.

In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal.
You can manipulate temporal Anomalies to clear a path through the desolate environment, and will have to scavenge for resources to replenish your limited ammo and supplies. Good preparation is key. Once in battle, split-second decisions can mean the difference between life
and death.

The creatures you kill won’t stay dead for long. Fallen enemies can be absorbed by others — through a grotesque process called Merging — to become faster, tougher, and far deadlier.
The only way to stop them? Burn their bodies. And do it fast.
If you don’t, you’ll face ever-evolving abominations that will push your combat skills to their limits.

Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.
But be wary: these essences have a profound impact on your journey.
The more you carry, the more haunted your suit becomes — increasing your prowess on the battlefield but also bringing with them whispers in your ear and flickers into your vision, edging you ever closer to madness.
Every Bullet Matters
Cronos doesn't do anything revolutionary or particularly new. You can clearly see Dead Space, Resident Evil and Silent Hill in its DNA. But somehow it still feels different enough to stand on its own.
Gameplay
The best part of the game is easily its gameplay loop. This might be the only action survival horror game where I actually had to think before every fight. Every bullet matters, every healing item matters, and using the environment is often the smartest way to deal with enemies. I really liked this approach. Unlike many "survival" games where you're swimming in resources after a few hours, Cronos keeps the pressure on until the end. The enemies do get repetitive very fast. You start seeing the same ones over and over again. But honestly, I didn't mind it that much because the gameplay loop itself stayed fun throughout the game. The lack of a map is annoying though. Navigation can sometimes become confusing when you're trying to remember where to go. It did kill the fun a little bit for me. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3785725353
Story and Atmosphere
The story and characters are definitely the weakest part of the game. They are just there, and I never really cared about what was happening. The game also throws in a few cheap jump scares here and there. Feels really lame.
Final Thoughts
Cronos is simply a fun survival horror game. It doesn't try to reinvent the genre, but it has its own identity thanks to its resource management and combat. Even with the repetitive enemies, weak story and lack of a map, I had a really good time. It may not be an amazing game, but I think it should get more recognition. If you enjoy survival horror games, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. 14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Cronos The New Dawn feels like Dead Space and time travel got mixed together in the weirdest way possible and smh it turned out to be really good You play as a Traveler jumping between a ruined future and the past trying to collect essences from people and other travelers before everything goes completely wrong These essences aren't just things you pick up either, they're basically souls chilling inside your suit or head (idk) giving you buffs talking to you and sometimes making you wonder if you're seeing things or slowly losing it The atmosphere is easily one of the best parts of the game Every place feels creepy uncomfortable and full of danger Combat is built around one main rule Don't let the enemies merge If you do they turn into bigger stronger and uglier versions of themselves Watchin an enemy become a whole new problem because you looked away for three seconds is a lesson you only need to learn once The guns feel good to use and stay useful for the whole game which is something a lot of games struggle with The story was also a pleasant surprise Instead of making you read a hundred notes about cool things that already happened the game actually lets you see parts of those events yourself It keeps things interesting for most of the journey, the only time it gets messy is near the end when the time travel starts doing what time travel usually does and makes your brain go overtime And of course there are cats, smh in a world full of monsters and the end of humanity there are still cats walking around completely unbothered Honestly they might be the smartest characters in the whole game The biggest problem for me was the boss fights Some are fun but a few get reused a little too much After a while I started feeling like I was fighting the same guy wearing a different shirt There are also some stutters frame drops and small bugs here and there but nothing that completely ruined the experience What I appreciate most is that Bloober Team made something that feels like its own thing They didn't need an old franchise to carry it They created their own world their own story and their own identity and they absolutely delivered It's nice seeing a studio take a chance on a new idea and actually make it work Overall Cronos The New Dawn is a really good survival horror game with great atmosphere fun combat and a world that stays in your head long after you're done playing It has a few rough spots but the good stuff easily wins SUCH IS OUR CALLING Story 8.5/10 Combat 8/10 Atmosphere 9.5/10 Boss Fights 7/10 Performance 7.5/10 Overall 8.5/10
Peak. Nah, but to put an actual review of this game out there: Pros: -Beautiful, agonizing story that's drip-fed to the player through both the primary narrative and through exploration. Very reminiscent of Silent Hill's approach where things don't completely come together unless one thoroughly combs the environment for documents, looks at the walls, bloodstains, positions of corpses, etc. Attention to detail in the environment creates many smaller narratives within the primary, and it's beautifully done. -Combat feels good once you acquire a few weapons, they all have a purpose and can all feel rewarding (even the carbine!) if resources are put into them. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed weapon types I saw others online dismiss. There's a good number of options, but the player can also choose to upgrade one or two primary weapons and be completely fine. -Environmental variety. At first, I actually didn't think this was the case, as the first few instances really try to hammer in the living-in-hopeless-world-of-meat vibe, but jumping back and forth between time periods where the world state is very different was a nice juxtaposition that I feel they did a great job with. Especially the last few levels. Cons: -Repetition. This game's combat and exploration can feel very repetitive, the loop for keeping yourself safe and fully checking environs for resources never really changes (aside from one feature that allows you to more effectively scope out the "danger" in an area, the mechanisms of which I don't really want to spoil). The game suffers from this quite a bit in the middle of the story, but improves with the introduction of different level designs in the latter portion of the game. I love this game, but man, the steelworks was a SLOG. -Performance. Holy hell, this game has some crazy performance issues. I'm running a 4080 with a pretty decent CPU, and even playing on an SSD the performance was pretty damn poor in a lot of areas. Frame generation helped a ton. But not everyone has access to that, and even with frame generation there were some insanely bad audio stuttering issues in the more open and expansive areas of the game that made my ears want to bleed. This is by far the worst issue of the game, imo. -Padding. There's some padding that isn't egregious, but doesn't add much to the game overall I would say. The second power-up-this-thing area is the best example of that. It is functionally the same as the first instance of doing the exact same thing, but with a different looping level design. Lots of good little lore bits thrown in there, but I am personally of the opinion that most of them could have been transplanted elsewhere in the game (such as the first area that we did this, which is just a different wing of the exact same location!). Overall, I highly, highly recommend this game to anyone who is a patient player that enjoys horror and a long stay within the confines of the game's world. Cons seem longer than the pros, but I'm not very good at articulating just how gripped this game had me, nor the impact of some of the emotional beats like the amazingly illustrated changes that the protagonist exhibits through conversation and mannerism throughout the game. It's a rewarding game, please give it a try!
Se for para fazer um ranking de survival horrors modernos pelo meu gosto vai ficar assim: 1 - Resident Evil 2 Remake 2 - Silent Hill 2 Remake 3 - Dead Space Remake 4 - Cronos:The New Dawn 5 - Resto Sendo que nesse resto abaixo do Cronos estão inclusos Resident Evil 4 Remake, 7, Village, Requiem, The Callisto Protocol, The Evil Within 1 e 2, Silent Hill F, Alone in the Dark entre outros.
Didn't expect the game to be this deep - it got some vibe to it for sure. I wish the performance was a bit better, I have to rely on framegen for some decent frames.
Best survival horror game I've played in YEARS. Played through the game 3 separate times to get each ending and never once felt bored. Absolute peak sound design and immersive world building as well.
