Very fun game. Perfect for runs between classes or other commitments, and itches the Balatro number building itch and city building itch.
This game isn't for everyone, but I love the game. Play the demo, and you might get hooked!
The best way to describe this is it's like Balatro and Slay the Spire, but with a pixel-art aesthetic in a town-builder wrapper. Really enjoying it so far. Each run you pick two guilds, which set's what kinds of 'cards' you see each run. This makes for a lot of interesting combos, as there's like 7 or 8 guilds.

After 100 percenting the game I have decided this game deserves a review and a glowing recommendation. For 10 dollars this game is an absolute gem. I've gotten about 80 hours of solid play out of it. This is not a city builder in the traditional sense like Cities or Simcity. The game has these little one and done runs where you choose two "guilds"(this determines what cards you get among other things) and then your objective is to reach certain score thresholds before each milestone in order to advance. This is where the comboing part of Combolands comes in. Buildings interact with the environment and each other in interesting ways, and you can produce some wacky combinations in order to "combo" and get a high score each round. The gameplay loop is simple but deceptively complex and very satisfying. This has quickly become one of my favorite games to just chill out with after a long day and relax with. The only thing I can really say negatively about this game is that after reaching 100 percent there isn't much to do. You can choose, after winning a run, to continue going in Endless mode to see how far you can go if you like. Ultimately this doesn't have a point(outside of your enjoyment of the game of course). I usually don't care for this kind of mechanic but this game feels like a natural fit for leaderboards/daily runs. Having said all that I am eagerly anticipating whatever happens with this game next. Really hoping for DLC.
Extremely fun game
Great game! I've played a lot of placement rogue-like city builders but this one is more accessible, more strategic and there's a lot more game-breaking combos and synergies!
Incredibly fun roguelike - the different guilds give an incredible amount of combinations and synergies which boosts replayability, and the art style is charming and works with the gameplay very well. It's very satisfying to get a good run going, and the endless mode is actually fun given how much of a delight it is to keep building out the map. Easy recommend if you like roguelikes of any stripe.
well this is way more fun than i could possibly imagine holy ♥♥♥♥
Fun little game that does exactly what it says on the tin. Each round you draft and place one of three buidlings, with an emphasis on adjaceny bonuses and triggers. Each game combines two decks, so there's good run-to-run variety.
Oh no! Where has my spare time gone?!? 10/10! This game is incredibly fun.
