Cleo is a 14 year old cynical girl, living a repetitive life with her father in a bar. She knows everything about the epic adventures of pirate legend Captain Cabeca, but in her everyday life, she is just surrounded by boring fishermen and unsuccessful pirates, hanging around at the counter.
But when Cleo finds a strange pirate-logbook and sees a ghost, who gives her a mysterious hint, her boring life is about to get turned upside down. She is thrown into a dangerous adventure and finds herself in a world of lies, deceit, greed and bad breath - the world of pirates - and most of them are looking for the same thing:
THE TREASURE OF ETERNAL MEMORY.
"Kraken Fodder" is a mini game inside the game.
It is a card and dice game, which is taken pretty seriously among fishermen and pirates. One round takes about 5 minutes and the game is about destroying your opponents card deck with canon balls. HAHAHAR!
Throughout the game, Cleo has to play this card game against a few NPCs.
The game was successfully funded on Kickstarter in 2020 and was released late 2021 with full voice acting in English and German.

Man merkt die sehr liebevolle Homage an alte adventure Klassiker. Und dennoch hatt dieses Spiel auch für sich eine eigene Seele und somit einiges zu bieten. Ein sehr schönes Adventure danke das ich Zuhörer der Geschichte sein durfte.

Visually its art style is timeless, with a beautiful atmosphere, animations, and references. Audio is masterfully produced, everything is voice acted to perfection. puzzles are all well thought out, and the story is very cute, funny and engaging. There truly isn't that many negatives aside from a few soft locks, no real replayability (aside from achievement hunting), the first puzzle will test you so you know what you've signed up for, and its fairly short which many may not like at this price. Most of the achievements are obtained by playing, with quite a few requiring a bit more effort. The coolest achievement has to be reading all the messages left in bottles (LETTER OPENER - PLATINUM), as they're all written by supporters. The hardest achievement is having to win all the kraken fodder games on your first try, throughout the entire playthrough (KRAKEN FODDER GOD). one unlucky roll and you're hard resetting the entire run (however this can be cheesed with savestates). BUT would I recommend it? well... Absolutely. While I think the dev deserves every penny to help create future bangers, zero excuse not to pick this one up on sale if you've had your eyes on it! Lovely and relatively short games of four chapters. It does remind me of the old lucasarts games which they are going for but not as taxing as the original monkey island. Still a lot of fun though.
A really good game in the vein of older point and click games, with great art and writing.
Amazing game, and worth the money. Got it on sale, which is even better. 5 hours for 100% with a little guide help for the message bottles.
Great game if you love a chill good story, and puzzle game
Cleo is an absolutely delightful point-and-click game. It is filled with whimsical characters, great art, and wonderful voice acting. I really didn't expect a small adventure game by a solo creator to be fully voice acted all the way through. It's a fun, stress-free adventure with compelling characters that is respectful of your time. I highly recommend it!
