About
CHAINSPIRE is a co-op soulslike platformer for 1-4 players in which the party is bound by a fully simulated physical chain. Combat, platforming and puzzles - all of it is built around that piece of iron.
Your friend becomes your enemy the moment they stop listening to you. The chain here is the real thing: it catches on geometry, goes taut, and drags back whoever wasn't paying attention. The difficulty climbs steadily as you go, and the bigger the party, the harder it gets for everyone in it.
Make your character your own. Customize the colors of their clothing and armor, combining different shades to create a look that stands out.
Every boss is unique and comes with its own attacks. You learn each of them separately, and nobody gets one on the first run.
Co-op is optional. If you have no one to play with, or you'd rather make the climb alone, an AI companion takes the other end of the chain. It follows your route, fights alongside you and turns up where a second pair of hands is needed. Solo is a full mode, not a concession: the chain is still there, and so are all of its rules.
Pick the class that suits you and your party: swordsman, archer, mage or special secret class. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Your job is to balance the party: on a single chain, what matters isn't only who you are, but who's holding the other end.
The way up starts in damp dungeons and runs through halls, galleries and bridges that show you exactly how far you've climbed and how long the fall would be. Nothing here lights your path: look around, climb where you probably shouldn't, and take everything you find.
Finish the main game and a new mode opens up, with the difficulty scaled several times over.
