Take up your sword, channel your magic or board your Mech. Chained Echoes is a 16-bit style RPG set in a fantasy world where dragons are as common as piloted mechanical suits.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Sep 14 → 4.17/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Masterpiece!
The gameplay is great, but I didn't enjoy the mech fights as much and felt they were sort of tacked on, with the grind for resources being not the greatest to a point. The writing and story has swings of greatness to really poor, the feel of that is subjective of course, so your mileage may vary.
This game is better than the reference of pixel JRPG ; AKA : FF6. Yeah you heard me right ! + The best pixel art out of here + Around 40h for finishing the game +10/15h for getting everything done (which is great : no endless farm) + The combat system offer many option thanks to the big roaster of character + list of spell & passive + Story was more interesting than I initialy though - Some encounter can be boring when you are trying to do the 100% (mobs blocking the way) - The intro is too slow ; you change character every 30mins and they are almost all introduced together (but in their own segment) so it is kind of ... hard to start playing. The fun start after the 2 or 3hours ; when you can fully explore the first map In the end : this game was almost done by a single guy ; and his love for JRPG (FF6 ; Chrono Trigger ; Xenogears ; Suikoden etc) can be seen in the game. This was one of the best unexpected game of my life. Chained Echoes deserve more recognition !! Give it a try (but you'll have to endure a boring/slow intro)
This is my second time buying this game, because I have it on switch. Battle system is the best version of turn based I've played. Can't spam moves, have to actually think about what attacks to use in both foot battles and in mech, this keeps you engaged and doesn't turn it into an autobattle. Always had fun getting in to a fight. And also, the level up system works in conjunstion with story progress, so you're never over leveled or having to grind because a battle is too hard. I can't say enough of how these two simple choices are enough to keep an oldschool formula refreshing and yet no tedious. Don't listen to people who have said it's a clunky system, It's not. Plus, there's just enough character customization to build each into how you want them to play, allowing some experimentation in multiple playthoughs. The story was also a big pull in for me, not incredibly deep, but fantastical enough for me to continue to want to see what the resolution was, with some twists along the way. Great game, not too long a journey, pretty much one guy project, and it's not expansive. Any hate it gets is exactly that, just haters.
Better than anything Square-Enix has done for the JRPG genre in decades.
Couldn't get past the first hour of this game. The art style looked like crap and it was pretty boring as well. Too bad I couldn't get my money back with my whopping 40 minutes of play...
10/10 Haven't been engrossed in a rpg in quite some time. I'll return to finish the board and face off against the unique monsters.
