For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

About

Caves of Qud is a Hugo Award-winning science fantasy roguelike epic steeped in retrofuturism, deep simulation, and swathes of sentient plants. Come inhabit a living, breathing world and chisel through layers of thousand-year-old civilizations. Decide: is it a dying earth, or is it on the verge of rebirth?

Do anything and everything. Caves of Qud is a deeply simulated, biologically diverse, richly cultured world.
DEEP PHYSICAL SIMULATION — Don’t like the wall blocking your way? Dig through it with a pickaxe, or eat through it with your corrosive gas mutation, or melt it to lava. Yes, every wall has a melting point.
FULLY SIMULATED CREATURES — Every monster and NPC is as fully simulated as the player. That means they have levels, skills, equipment, faction allegiances, and body parts. So if you have a mutation that lets you, say, psionically dominate a spider, you can traipse through the world as a spider, laying webs and eating things.
DYNAMIC FACTION SYSTEM — Pursue allegiances with over 70 factions: apes, crabs, trees, robots, and highly entropic beings, just to name a few.
RICHLY DETAILED SCIENCE FANTASY SETTING — Over fifteen years of worldbuilding have led to a rich, weird, labyrinthine, one-of-a-kind storyworld, layered on top of the simulation, all for you to explore. Live and drink, friend.
TACTICAL GAMEPLAY — Turn-based, sandbox exploration and combat offers as many solutions as you and your mutations, implants, artifacts, and skills are creative enough to invent.
RPG ELEMENTS — Quests, NPCs, villages, historic sites; some dynamic and some handwritten, interwoven to produce a transportative RPG experience.
ATMOSPHERIC ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK — Over two hours of otherworldly music to delve to.

Caves of Qud has one of the most expressive character creators of all time.
Play the role of a mutant indigenous to the salt-spangled dunes and jungles of Qud, or play a true kin descendant from one of the few remaining eco-domes — the toxic arboreta of Ekuemekiyye, the ice-sheathed arcology of Ibul, or the crustal mortars of Yawningmoon.
Build your character out of:
Over 70 mutations — outfit yourself with wings, two heads, four arms, flaming hands, teleportation, the power to clone yourself…
Dozens of cybernetic implants (and more to find as treasure) — night vision, translucent skin, carbide fists, spring-loaded ankle tendons…
24 castes and kits from across the social order of Qud and beyond Moghra’yi, the Great Salt Desert
Too overwhelmed to build a character from scratch? Choose one of 9 preset characters and start your adventure right away. Then return to character creation when you are ready.

Play one of four modes:
CLASSIC — Like other traditional roguelikes, this mode has permadeath, meaning you lose your character when you die. Extremely challenging even for experts.
ROLEPLAY — Play it like an RPG. Save your progress at checkpoints located in settlements.
WANDER — Focus on exploration. Most creatures will not attack you, you don’t gain experience by killing, but you DO gain experience by discovering new locations and treating with legendary creatures.
DAILY — One chance with a fixed character and world seed. How long will you survive?

After 9 years of continuous development and frequent updates, Caves of Qud has finally reached its 1.0 release! Here are some highlights of what's been added for 1.0:
The last leg of the main quest
The new, fully graphical UI
Hundreds of visual & sound effects
Lots of polish & stability

Caves of Qud is a project of epic proportions that's been in development for over fifteen years, since 2007. It began as the science fantasy roguelike dream of co-creators Jason Grinblat and Brian Bucklew, who released the first beta in 2010. Since then, it's accrued a few more contributors who have enriched the project by helping to add visual effects, sound effects, an original soundtrack, a new UI, new game systems, new lore, and half a world of content. Caves of Qud has grown into a wild garden of emergent narrative, where a handwritten story weaves a path through rich physical, social, and historical simulations. The result is a hybrid handcrafted and procedurally-generated world that's alive in a way few games are.

tl;dr take STD's into account before cloning yourself 40+ times Played a winged chimera with a stupid amount of AOE, "death from above" kind of build + a mutation that allowed me to summon 6 clones for a limited number of turns. Then I figured that the only thing better than having 6 temporary clones of myself… is to have multiple *permanent* clones of myself, each with an access to the said ability to summon 6 clones. I created 7 clones, 7x6+1(me)=43 of us on the same square when we all used Temporal fugue. A rather delighted mayhem ensued. Deaths to AOE were plenty, but so were our victories, and the artifacts we secured together and subsequently traded for valuable goods. And though we all looked the same which might have been a tad offputting, our little brotherhood felt like a real family. We grew close. Came up with new recipes together, laughed together, cloned Ichor merchants together, completed story quest lines together. And then… I began to notice. I became sick more often. Always itchy. Always a new disease popping up. Okay, weird, but whatever - I would always cure it, and carry on. Didn't think much of it. I figured - surely my companions couldn't catch diseases like I could, right? Wrong. WRONG. They were all disease ridden, head to toe. The worst of the infections, by far, was Waxflab. I don't know which of us contracted it first. Could have been me, could have been one of the 7, or perhaps one of our Temporal fugue clones, even. Waxflab does a bunch of things. Looks nasty, for starters. Shifts your stats around a little bit. But the most noticeable effect is.. the constant oozing. Of wax. Everywhere we went. All 8 of us. Sometimes 20+ or us, or even 40+ of us. The more of us contracted it, the worse it got. Joppa, the friendly village which we frequently recoiled back to? Completely covered in the disgusting, putrid ooze of our waxy disease. I didn't realize just how bad it was, until it was too late. I somehow assumed that the liquid was just whatever mess we were covered in by the time we recoiled back. But no. It was all us. It was all me. All 8 of disgusting, diseased me. It was absolutely everywhere, every place we frequented. The villages we recoiled to the most; the stores of our favourite merchants. Those ichor merchants we cloned together? Their tent full of the nasty wax that dripped from our orifices. And what's even worse - all of my clones had between 3-6 diseases each. Infections which removed their armor, weapons and tools and replaced them with putrid oozing flesh and fungi. This couldn't continue. Struck by shame and guilt, I decided to get rid of my sentient, living, breathing,... diseased clones, once and for all. The only problem was - they were pretty damn strong and at a high level, and I didn't know where to take them to have them killed in battle.. while I myself survived. I didn't wanna just leave them in the middle of the desert, either. Figured that would have been pretty anticlimactic. That's when I remembered Golgotha. Yes, the map with deadly conveyor belts that will inevitably drag you to your doom, if you don't step off - something companions aren't smart enough to do. I set my plan in motion. "Just another small mission" for them. We jumped in, and there we were, between the crustatians, the eels, and the conveyor belts with long deadly shafts leading straight down at the very end. I commenced the fight with Clarvoyance, and then I hid and waited while they fought atop the conveyor belts. 1 turn. 5 turns. 10 turns "Your companion, an oozing salty sludgy clone of Mr. Wings, has fallen down the slimy shaft to the southwest!" More waiting "Your companion, an oozing salty sludgy clone of Mr. Wings, has fallen down the slimy shaft to the southwest!" "Your companion, an oozing salty sludgy clone of Mr. Wings, has fallen down the slimy shaft to the southwest!" "Your companion, an oozing salty sludgy clone of Mr. Wings, has fallen down the slimy shaft to the southwest!" Even more waiting "Your companion, an oozing salty sludgy clone of Mr. Wings, has fallen down the slimy shaft to the southwest!" "Your companion, an oozing salty sludgy clone of Mr. Wings, has fallen down the slimy shaft to the southwest!" "Your companion, an oozing salty sludgy clone of Mr. Wings, has fallen down the slimy shaft to the southwest!" And just like that, it was over. I exited my hideout. They were gone. I peered into the shaft, but only darkness stared back at me. My hands were trembling, I felt sick. I realized.. maybe the Templars weren't so bad after all. Maybe beings like me deserved to be persecuted, punished for their very existence. Anyway.. I went back to Joppa, alone, pretending like nothing happened and with my bare hands and began scooping the ooze and filling as many waterskins with it as possible, so I could try to sell it. To my dissapointment, our ooze proved to be essentially worthless. It was all for nothing. Then my legs began to weaken and I got sick with Fickle gill which I had managed to contract from one of my clones, before they departed this mortal plane. A lovely parting gift. One which I will cure tomorrow by devouring a fresh corpse of a large worm. 10/10

游戏是好游戏!就是文本里太大了赶紧把官中端上来吧🤡民间汉化对于剧情党很多没翻译的有点儿不全🎮
Caves of Qud é VICIANTE! (CUIDADO!) HAHAHA!!! Live and drink!
Yeah I probably shouldn't have bought this game. I'm approaching 100 hours. It took me probably 50 to realize there was a story. I think I've now partially completed the third quest in that line? I still don't know what I'm doing but I can't stop thinking about this game, I'm so obsessed. It's clean, deep, rich, all the good things. I noticed I didn't **enjoy** in terms of "I'd want to listen to this later" the main fighting theme from literally the single clip I watched, so figured I didn't need to bother to buy the soundtrack. Big mistake. I wake up with the songs for Dulep and Grit Gate's enclave or whatever in my head. I was so distressed and confused by the time I got there, when that music kicked in, I could cry. I haven't heard any of the other songs, really, so I am excited to hear more! Related - I jumped into this after watching the trailer, at which point I was like "yeah when I have cash and there's a sale, I'm here." I'm not GOOD at games, but I can get into playing games pretty easily. I *struggled* with this one. I think mostly it was that I've never played this kind of game on a Deck before, so just a learning curve. I haven't played Dwarf Fortress or the other games folks were saying were similar to this one, though, so maybe it was just getting used to the style? Or re-used to it? On Mac, a lot of the keys you'll need will not be there, so you'll have to do a lot of manual mapping. Otherwise, yeah, fantastic game. I will easily be clearing a hundred hours on this one. I thought it might not be worth the price based on the very limited pixel graphics, but this one definitely has a "still waters run deep" kind of vibe. I'm playing on roleplay because I like enjoying my games and I do not enjoy misery while I learn, which is great. I think I'll probably try the one-life mode at some point, but I really do just want to enjoy the story for now!
I would rather recommend Crown Trick.
it's like australia but real
Incredibly deep rogue-like exploration experience for softcore and hardcore gamers alike. The Caves of Qud has deep detail in its visual style. Play 80's game with up to date standards. The game is served with immersive quality soundtrack (could spare more tracks surely, the game is vast and "only" a bit over 2 hours of it in 32 tracks). Super gameplay mechanics, I grew up with turn-based games and thought there would be no meaningful new experinces available. What a dreaful start after two decades of modern RTS and FPS gaming, a lot of keyboard controls to remember and enjoy the input system. HOWEVER, the game supports mouse gaming 100% Imho, getting familiar with the title caused anxiety and nausea, urge to stop playing it and refund. I'm sure others with most experience on modern style games will feel same in the beginning. I got over it in about 2-3 hours and now I consider Caves of Qud a pinnacle of gaming in '20s, offering a cult position for the title. And oh boy, there is workshop support. Can't wait to see what best enthusiasts plot for the future. The game engine and the lore seems to unlock unlimited possibilities. Live and Drink
This is honestly one of the coolest games of all time. Truly impressive.
