It's like a way better version of Stoneshard that actually respects your time.
Even in this unfinished state, this game is already worth the price and the time. Bravo to the creator. I went in blind and was able to figure things out intuitively as I went. I'm a notorious min-maxer/survivalist in these types of game and look for the fastest way to break things, and even after an underwhelming start as a hunter I was able to course correct within the same save without losing anything. Yes, all this time is from one playthrough where I proceeded to break everything and have a pretty fun time doing so. Regardless of how you start the game, the path to all styles and trees are (eventually) available. I soon realized archery is pretty weak, so I pivoted to 2H weaponry and proceeded to roll the rest of the game once I unlocked all the martial skill trees. I ended the run at level 57 having achieved relative martial immortality with full attunement to Nature magic. The worst part of my final build was that I did so much AoE martial damage that my pets were kind of always getting murdered by friendly fire. I mean, am I supposed to just NOT use Arcing Blade on CD? Pssha. My pets know who I am. My only gripes with the game are fairly minor, but I'll list them in case our guy sees them and somehow isn't aware of them. - Pets/NPCs who block doorways in town are sort of rage-inducing to manually path and re-path around. - It's easy to overlevel in the first area of the map by trying to complete all quests and beat all dungeons around your starter town to unlock the stores. - The roguelite aspect of my run meant I didn't even KNOW 'general' stores were a thing until like hour 30 and town 3-4. General stores are amazing and should be a primary unlock on any town. Anyone who lives in a crap town with a Dollar Tree can tell you that. - Related to my overlevel gripe, I expected to hit the desert/mountains and see enemies get a massive jump in level, but they were mostly the same difficulty as the scrubs I had trained on in the starting area. Would love to see outer areas of the map get a mid-to-endgame boost in lethality to really test those advanced builds. Overall, great work, and I look forward to revisiting this one once you get it finished!

Even in early access it is extremely fun and deep. I keep coming back and will continue to. Also played 100% on Steam Deck and it works perfectly there.
I spent 20+ hours giving it a thorough test about a year and a half ago, left it for more patches before leaving a review because it wasn't ready but had potential, fast forward to now and the unreal levels of early game tedium is something that I'm surprised is still just as awful as before and I'm not willing to push through it again. Early 2000s era ADOM herb gardening is more fun than the early game in this.
Very excited to see where this is going to go. If you like Caves of Qud, Stoneshard, DF Adventure Mode then give this a shot. The skills are deeper with things needing to be unlocked which can seem quite tedious but it's part of the game and you learn to quickly get past it. Quick tip, put points into Cooking -> Peeling so you can bake potatoes and boost your cooking skill quickly. Don't be dismayed by the rather awkward start, you just need to find a big town and a merchant with the weighing scales icon and start selling everything to them, you'll have enough gold for medical stuff and fresh new armor.
is this still in development?
