Welcome to New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures you’ve only dreamed of, nightmares you hopefully haven’t, and a cast of brave folks who use cassette tapes to transform for battle. To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!

Faced with the constant threat of monster attacks, the residents of Harbourtown, New Wirral choose to fight fire with fire. Record a monster to tape, then play it back to take on its form for battle!

Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.

Certain monster abilities can be used in human form. You’ll need these to help you get around, solve puzzles, and locate dungeons. Glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, or turn magnetic! Take on the Gauntlet – a never-ending battle mode where you’ll face fearsome enemies for precious material and glory!

Never fight alone! Form bonds, spend time together, and help your selected partner complete personal goals to become a better team. The strength of your relationship determines how well you’re able to fuse!

So far Absolutely adoring the game! it's cute, it's unique, it's original with so many aspects, and while i was initially disapointed by the "play next to your friends, not with them" it has grown on me having more freedom to do my own thing while still hanging out with my friends. However a suggestion for the Devs if they ever see this, i know why it was impossible to add the multiplayer in a way that we can do the campaign together, but what if in a DLC, you make it where its actually encouraged to, use the same invite to battle system that's in place for Fusions and add it as a option for all fights, but ofc make the challenge to match.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Just beat carriage 150 of the Gauntlet, so leaving a review. (Note: I don't have DLC) Disappointment with the stagnancy of Pokemon has led me to the indie scene of monster tamers, and Cassette Beasts impressed me. The element system granting buffs/debuffs added a new layer to combat besides "number go up/down". Double battles being the standard was also nice, made support units more useful. Movesets are easy to modify using the sticker system. Levels are locked to the character, not the beast, so not much individual grinding. Overall the combat was an improvement over what I have been used to. Story is ok. Ending feels a bit rushed. Postgame makes for a better canon ending but requires you to beat the game to unlock it, so some minor ludo-narrative dissonance there. The villainous team analog basically being hyper-capitalist landlords and real-estate types was a chuckle. I found the characters charming. Extra dialogue/conversations run out and loop if you play long enough, which somewhat dampened my appreciation of them. Romance is available. Queer friendly. I like the music. Sprite art is nice. As for cons, animations can get lengthy and you can't really skip them. This does get irritating especially with some automated combo type passives and/or psuedo-infinite combos. Overworld is a bit clunky earlygame until you get more movement passives. Sticker/moveset management gets annoying lategame as you can't search by attribute. Overall I think this is worth the asking price. My complaints are outweighed by my enjoyment. Gamefreak take notes.
This is one of my favorite games, which I did not expect. I never really got deep into pokemon mechanics, just the cards, but this adds whatever was missing for me (probably the cosmic horror elements). The soundtrack is also amazing (I usually don't like game tracks, tbh), and I have the vocal versions of the songs saved on my everyday playlists. I would love to see more hype for this game and I'm shocked it isn't huge!
