About
Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles in this open-world RPG. Combine any two monster forms using Cassette Beasts’ Fusion System to create unique and powerful new ones!
Welcome to New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures you’ve only dreamed of, nightmares you hopefully haven’t, and a cast of brave folks who use cassette tapes to transform for battle. To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!
Faced with the constant threat of monster attacks, the residents of Harbourtown, New Wirral choose to fight fire with fire. Record a monster to tape, then play it back to take on its form for battle!
Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.
Certain monster abilities can be used in human form. You’ll need these to help you get around, solve puzzles, and locate dungeons. Glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, or turn magnetic! Take on the Gauntlet – a never-ending battle mode where you’ll face fearsome enemies for precious material and glory!

Never fight alone! Form bonds, spend time together, and help your selected partner complete personal goals to become a better team. The strength of your relationship determines how well you’re able to fuse!

This is a great creature collector game that nevr fells like "pokemon but better: it's different (and better IMO XD). I love it and 125h later I still want to play more.
Battles are fun and dynamic with its mainly 2v2 format and the type reactions, not to mention the sheer amount of customization for your moves. The game's overworld and progression feels more like a 2D Zelda than anything, so for better and worse, traversal gets a lot more fun after you've unlocked certain abilities. Your mileage will vary when it comes to the writing, especially its social commentary, but I ended up liking most of the party members and the setting's lore. That said, this is not a story-heavy game. The amazing soundtrack does a lot of the heavy lifting here. Customization of tapes is almost overwhelming, with monsters having "bootleg" variants for every type and being able to equip all kinds of moves that themselves have rarer variants with random bonuses. I personally find that it takes away from the potential for each creature to have its own identity, but I'm sure this will be perfect for certain kinds of players who want to achieve the perfect setup. Oh, and I do like a lot of the creature designs and concepts. While the postgame and going for completion can get pretty time-consuming and repetitive, I very much recommend at least playing through the main story content.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I love my husband after he gave me this game. Im gonna bombard him with gifts once more!
I fell in love with this game the moment I saw the first archangel. Went from a pretty good game to an amazing one really fast. If you want a unique creature collector game, this is for you. The battle system is also pretty interesting to play around with. Rarely a dull moment!
Loved the game but could not finish the main story, felt like a chore more than something fun in the end. Music and the monsters you get is one of the best things.
I went into this expecting it to be a turn-based strategy game like pokemon and the game sure did deliver! Brute forcing through fights does not always work out with the gimicks and types, which leads to you playing on your backfoot at times. If things got too much of a headache though, I really appreciated that there was a option to adjust the difficulty and the leveling at any time in the game. The creature designs are charming as well as the characters you meet on your adventures! I did run into a few silly bugs here and there, but nothing that truly messed with my game file. There are plenty of things to do if you are an achievement hunter and extremely helpful guides to ensure you discover every secret in the game! Overall, was a great run and I love my quirky team of weird little cassette guys. <3
Consiglio
I first played on switch when the multiplayer update dropped and have been in love since!! # Kayleigh the GOAT
