Bully: Scholarship Edition

i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game dude. watched my big brother play growing up and finally gave it a good shot by myself. absolute masterpiece non woke work of art would highly rec.

I enjoyed a lot the game, but this is still a mixed review because of how bad is the port to PC. I took the advice of getting the Silent Patch right at the start, so I don't know how terrible is it without it, but I still had a lot of crashes, some days it'd be just 1 or 2, some others it would be crashing almost non-stop. Take into account also that it doesn't have autosave, so you have to go to the saving points quite often if you get this version. That beind said, for the 3€~ that I got it, I had a lot of fun and enjoyed this somewhat small sandbox with a linear story that has quite a few customization options and plenty of minigames, was fun enough to try and go for 100% completion until I've got the most repetitive tasks and also the parts that crash the most (changing clothes for some reason). Highly recommend also to get right out of the bat the Achievements mod, since Steam doesn't have them for whatever reason. Talking still about mods, I used "Better Controls" since in general I prefer to play with keyboard and mouse, but for the tagging segments is impossible to use mouse since it doesn't read properly how to move through the lines and it takes more than 3 minutes to finish one, had to connect my controller for that. The story on its own isn't exactly a masterpiece, but bear with me. It has a lot of satire in old Rockstar fashion - which sometimes makes me roll my eyes - but the world building is really good, I understand why is beloved and even has quite a few fanfics since the lore itself is fantastic, though without making spoilers, the story focus is kind of lacking in my humble opinion. I don't know what did I expect from the ending, but the boss from the one to last chapter feels much more difficult than the final one, and the resolution of it all feel super rushed. I imagine is intended since it feels like a parody of itself, just not my jam. TL;DR: If you really want to play this version, get it under 5€, use mods, specially Achievements and Silent Patch but still expect crashes and technical issues. If you can look past that, enjoy the lore.

this is my first playthrough and it’s immediately one of my favorite underrated rockstar titles. so atmospheric. i’m not a fan of the looping background music, so i always put on some grunge rock at 20% volume when i play this. note: i can understand why some people hate the mods that try to smooth out fps and yassify the game assets, but i caved and modded mine a bit after it crashed following a kinda long mission. hopefully it fixes the occasional crashing.
