I had previously reviewed this negatively due to frequent softlocks, which have subsequently been patched out. Now, it's great.

This game is really fun. I love to explore and solve puzzles. The start is a bit slow with no sprint, which is a bit unfortunate, but once you unlock the hoverboard it isn't needed. The hoverboard makes you go really fast on water and land. You unlock it in the sewers in the first map after unlocking the hyperlink in the NeoCity looking map. USE THE HOVERBOARD!!!!! The NPC's are interesting. Love this game XOXO <3
I've been so excited for this sequel, i loved the original so much. I'm having a blast so far, haven't gotten too deep into it yet but excited for more.
If you liked the first game you'll certainly enjoy this one! Just a heads up, this game is currently undergoing patches as it has a lot of small hiccups that add up overtime, so if you don't have patience for that you might want to wait at least a few weeks before picking this up. I've beaten most of the game myself, but I'm stuck on the last big level and am waiting for a walkthrough to see whether I glitched my game or if there's a puzzle solution I'm missing.
COMPARED TO FIRST GAME: Good game, NOT AS GOOD AS FIRST, but still good. The vibes aren't there here as it was with the first, but then again it is comparing apples to oranges as 80's/90's retro is not Y2K, yet I still do get some of it that Y2K retroism. The worlds are bigger too, puzzles are good as well, but doesn't feel as smooth. The writing so far is okay, it doesn't feel as alive that made me play the first game 3 times. BUGS ON RELEASE: There are a good few, but none are game breaking so far as I experienced. Menu for quests doesn't respond well (on controller, my main way to play), a room called "The Evidence Room" is visually glitchy beyond comprehention(objects render then disappear), NPCs are clipping through objects (most evident in the mall), and some other visual glitches regarding the reflection shine in the Hub that only has happened a few times so far, it's not every time. OVERALL: It's a nice experience, I always loved the internet and imagined it to be similar to Broken Reality 1 and 2(000) as I grew up (Reboot was on TVs during that time too), so I wish for more games with this theme. Although I fell in love with the first game's aesthetics and vibes, Broken Reality 2000 is there, also not, but is still fun.
+1
This was a proper sequel to Broken Reality. We went from Vaporwave to the Y2K aesthetic and just, wow. I would gladly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the first.
