About
Book of Travels is a serene RPG adventure that sets you adrift in a fairytale world without the restraints of linear missions and plotlines.
Book of Travels is all about the journey, not the destination. Explore the wilds and visit the cities of the Braided Shore peninsula. Wander deep into the layers of this hand-drawn world, stumble upon its hidden places or unravel its many mysteries. There is no overarching goal and no real beginning or end.

Take note: This is a game for wayfinders and wanderers and your route is not pre-destined. Instead, it will be up to you to play in your own style and to shape your own journey. Whichever way you choose to travel, you’ll soon be adding your own chapters to Book of Travels.
Roleplaying and individual playstyles
Pick one of 12 different Forms in a detailed character creation sheet that focuses on personality and identity rather than stats and classes. The game allows you to play in a style that matches your character and set your own personal goals. Are you a danger-seeking adventurer, a stoic practitioner of magic binding, or a carefree tea drinking gambler?
A narrative that won’t hold your hand
Your travels will present you with randomly occurring events making your story unique and each session different from the last. Peel back the layers of diverse plotlines and discover a deep fairytale world.

Such a beautiful experience all around. BoT had so much potential but unfortunately it's all over. Sad to see you go.
It's sad that Book of Travels is going from a tiny MMO to single player game but I can't say I'm surprised. At least when the servers get turned off in July, we'll still have *something* to play, so many dead MMOs only exist as ghosts, haunting our memories. This must be really bittersweet for the devs, they clearly were very passionate about this project but MMOs are infamously hard (and expensive) to develop. If anything I wish they'd pivoted to a single player game way earlier, maybe it wouldn't have ended as badly for them. I hope the studio can eventually get back to it's former glory.

as some other newer reviews have stated, this game has been abandoned by its developers after 6 years. this game was one of the first games i backed on kickstarter and unfortunately it was in limbo during that entire time. it barely even finished chapter 0 and last time i've played it was a buggy mess with little to no direction. if i could i would refund the $30 i spent because of how much of a disappointment this game turned out to be with the main draw (being a "tiny mmo" as they called it back then) no longer usable with the servers being taken down
- Advertised as a multiplayer game - Extremely slow development - Announced as a single player game instead years later I can forgive a lot of stuff like my character having been broken and unable to connect to for literal YEARS despite me filling tickets and waiting to be greeted by no answer. But changing the nature of the game years down the line so that I can't refund? And my character is STILL broken and unplayable despite it all? I have no good will or patience left to be honest, this is just sad to see.
Unfinished Game.... Developers scammed the people from alot of money in my opinion...
I was a Kickstarted backer for this game. I can't recommend this game even at $4.99. I'd appreciate my pledge back, but we know that won't happen. I will never back a project nor purchase a game from "Might and Delight" ever again. Honestly, this experience has totally put me off Kickstarting any game ever again. I also will be much more leery of Early Access titles.
Fully released game and some feats are "NOT YET IMPLEMENTED". When then? All quests are pointless and repeating, you can stay in the same town and do the same quest over and over again. Combat is not just bad - it is a complete garbage. Exploration is very painful due to fast draining stamina while running and walking speed is extremely slow (even with the road travelling feat). The "no currency" system is a nonsense. Every item has "value" for the reason of equal trade. Value in what? Leafs? Accorns? Author has no idea what money is why they were invented. Also no huggle and no economical factors at all in the whole world. You have to either carry random valued trash to buy something or waste valuable items for something cheaper.
Beautiful game ! I just wish i discovered it sooner, i had no idea such gem existed <3 So sad the multiplayer is canceled, would have loved to play it as a tmmo
Absolutely robbed me. I paid $26 something for this game and that was when it was on sale. Now its $4.99?! I want my money back.
