This game is so much fun, its a total gem. You can have fast-paced space combat and slow story and dice rolls all at the same time. I also have to give a lot of props to the devs, a long time ago I asked if they could help because the ship engines were so bright they hurt my eyes and the next day they pushed a patch with a brightness slider. The controls can be a little wonky to get used to but it looks amazingly good at 5K resolution. I come back and play through it about once a year and its always fun.
I wanted to like this game, it seemed perfect and all this talk about a surprisingly gripping story had me really interested. Unfortunately the voice acting ranges from "budget" to "hobo paid in ham sandwiches." This is a minor complaint to be sure, but the thing that isn't is that the prologue/tutorial forces you to use photo mode, the photo mode then bugs out and only displays xbox controls no matter the input. When I finally figured out which key maps to A and took the picture the game immediately crashed. I can't claim to know what happens in the story proper due to 42 minutes of playtime, but the "choices" that were presented in the prologue all funneled into a single outcome and choices were essentially "choose the correct option immediately, or sit through 5-10 additional seconds of hokey narrative cards that then choose the correct option for you."

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

几元入库米毛病,还有中文能掉卡可云存档,美滋滋。 202304,steam,steam掉卡掉物抵扣,它处自定义包入的本体约4元。 爱人如己,目前就这,看以后追评。
It's a fun game and if you can get it on discountt, under 20, I think its worth the money. However, I recommend having a joystick, it helps dealing with the controlling the ship.
This is a really nice space opera.
The game is ok for what it is. It's a small indie game. It's not bad, it's not excellent, but it's worth its price. The variety of ships ain't great, the missions gets repetitive quickly enough... but, at that price, it's totally acceptable. The only annoying thing, is how your ship's stats are dependent on the crew. At some point, you will loose crew members through events and storyline. Depending on how high they were, this can seriously impede your stats. The reserve crew, seems to bring no bonus at all, and any equipped medals on them, is basically useless if you remove them from the active crew... They could at least bring part of their bonuses/stats, as it makes no sense to have so much reserve doing nothing. You are, apparently, supposed to move your crew around, so you can get the best stats for research and scrapping etc when needed, but, it's awfully tedious to do, and frankly, pointless. I'd have rather if ALL the crew brought something, and there was "active/reserve" thing while on the ship, as this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Other than that, it's fine to play here and there, just don't expect an epic experience.
So far finished the prologue the game is really great and man i gotta say got watery eyes from the prologue alone such strong ending of the prologue gonna say defintley recomend this game its cheap simple and epic.
Between the Stars is an impressive blend of space simulation, action RPG mechanics, and branching storytelling that demonstrates a clear passion for the science-fiction genre. Developed and published by Isolated Games, the title places players in the captain’s chair of a starship navigating a fractured galaxy on the brink of collapse. The premise immediately establishes an engaging backdrop: civilizations are struggling to maintain order while a dangerous enemy continues to spread its influence across the stars. Rather than delivering a straightforward campaign, the game invites players to create their own tale through choices, exploration, and the gradual evolution of both their captain and vessel. At its core, Between the Stars succeeds because it understands the appeal of commanding a ship through hostile territory. Every journey across the galaxy presents new opportunities and risks, whether it involves assisting stranded travelers, negotiating with rival factions, or engaging in desperate battles against pirates and hostile fleets. The event-driven structure keeps the pace moving, offering a constant stream of decisions that can influence resources, relationships, and survival. Although some encounters eventually repeat over time, the sheer number of scenarios helps maintain a sense of unpredictability that encourages multiple playthroughs. Combat strikes a satisfying middle ground between arcade action and tactical management. Players must maneuver their ship in real time while monitoring shields, energy consumption, weapon cooldowns, and positioning. Success often depends on understanding the strengths of your current build and adapting to the challenges presented by enemy vessels. Ship customization is one of the game's greatest strengths, allowing players to experiment with various combinations of weapons, modules, and upgrades. Watching a modest ship transform into a formidable war machine over dozens of hours creates a rewarding progression loop that remains compelling throughout much of the adventure. The role-playing elements add considerable depth to the experience. Captains gain experience, unlock abilities, and develop specialties that influence gameplay. Crew members also play an important role, contributing unique bonuses and occasionally becoming central figures during narrative events. These systems work together to create a stronger connection between the player and their journey. The game often feels less like a traditional space shooter and more like an interactive science-fiction saga where every stop along the route contributes to a larger personal narrative. Visually, Between the Stars presents an attractive interpretation of deep space. Colorful nebulae, detailed ship models, and energetic weapon effects help bring its universe to life. The user interface is functional and easy to navigate despite the number of mechanics involved, making it accessible even for players who are not veterans of the genre. Complementing the presentation is an atmospheric soundtrack that reinforces the feeling of venturing into unknown territory. While it does not possess the visual spectacle of major AAA space titles, it consistently delivers a believable and immersive setting. However, the game's ambitions occasionally exceed its execution. Certain story moments lack the emotional impact needed to elevate the narrative, and some side events begin to feel familiar after extended sessions. Difficulty balancing can also fluctuate, with a handful of encounters presenting abrupt spikes in challenge. Additionally, technical issues and minor bugs can occasionally interrupt the experience, reminding players that this is an independent production operating on a smaller scale. None of these issues are severe enough to derail the game, but they do prevent it from fully realizing its considerable potential. Despite these shortcomings, Between the Stars remains an easy recommendation for fans of science fiction and starship management games. It successfully combines exploration, character progression, real-time combat, and meaningful choices into a package that consistently rewards curiosity and experimentation. Isolated Games has created a title that captures the fantasy of charting a path through an unstable galaxy while building a legend among the stars. It may not redefine the genre, but it delivers a memorable and engaging adventure that stands as one of the more ambitious independent space RPGs available on Steam. Rating: 7/10
