About

Beasts of Bermuda is a multiplayer survival game in which the player is a dinosaur or other prehistoric creature. A player can take the role of flyers, swimmers, herbivores, carnivores, and semi-aquatic creatures that fulfill different niches in the ecosystem. No matter what the player chooses to be, the objective of the game is to survive and grow up on the islands of Bermuda by using their particular creature's abilities. Predation from other players as well as intense environmental events are the antagonistic forces in the game the player must survive against.
There are currently three game modes in Beasts of Bermuda.

In Free Roam game mode the player selects a creature of choice and spawns into the world as a juvenile of that species. They must survive and gradually grow larger over time. As growth accumulates, they also earn talents, which can be spent to enhance different aspects of your creature's capabilities. In this mode growth is slower but resource management is easier.
In Life Cycle game mode the player selects a creature and spawns into the world as a juvenile of that species. You must survive and grow larger in a fast paced growth setting. As growth accumulates, you will earn talents to enhance different aspects of your creature's capabilities. After 1.32 growth you can choose to enter a stage called Gauntlet, where the difficulty of the game increases with growth in the form of food, water, and ailment management. In this mode growth is faster but resource management is harder. Compete on a monthly leaderboard to earn the top growth ranking for your species!
In Combat game mode players are pitted against one another with mechanics that are designed to reward conflict. Servers can use Deathmatch Maps which are smaller with close together spawn locations. The player spawns in as an adult creature of their choice and can accrue more talent points by killing other players and stealing their points. The game mode is endless and uses points and kill/death ratios to show who reigns supreme on the server.

Great game but its so overrun by cheaters and the devs/admins/mods on official servers are doing absolutely nothing about it..... Its gotten to the point that they even closed the ability to make tickets on officials.... This game should be renamed on steam to "Cheaters of Bermuda"
Despite this game having been my lifeblood and was actively shaping up to be one of the most played games on my profile and beat the 2.5k hours on another game I have... This game is no longer a survival game. It's lost its identity in its own gameplay loop. The majority of its population plays on no PVP chill servers and just chats with everyone and grows on fed food and fresh water at their feet 24/7, and the rest plays on an Autorevive server. There is no effort to fix Gauntlet/Titania to be appealing to players (its intended core gameplay after transitioning away from previous growth loops). No more servers other than the Offical server have Gauntlet gamemodes and Titania support for server owners and saves took almost a year or more for a semi-reliable transfer option. The devs fix to the main criticism of starvation rates was to pause growth at 50%. But if you were on pause, you were virtually a walking steak for anything else that wanted to hunt you, which they could *smell* you and see you are on pause. This also made it so if you were a dino that was having issues nearing starving to begin with, you now simply could not keep yourself out of pause growth for long enough to keep yourself alive in a fight long before starvation might had otherwise been a factor. If this kicked in at closer to 20% this would have been more reasonable, but food must now always be topped up with little leeway on this game mode now. The toxicity is likely permanent to this game, and enough people have covered that in droves, so I'll leave that out of this review. I'm not interested in playing a game where its a chatroom, or there is such a massive timegated bias towards the schooling and unemployed with this half-acknowledged identity the game currently has permitted. I'll keep up with the skin unlocks in case I can come back, but otherwise the engagement and time investment of other survival games is far more respectful to me elsewhere.

Fun if you only play communities but those suck because of well..the community. Officials are awful and a waste of time, and god forbid you expect bugs to not kill you or you get ganged by the group of people who sit in discord 20 man strong ready to ruin yer day. Do not buy
Used to love the game, then the owner: -Stole 2k from a ex-model maker -Used someone's Code AND model for the Snake playable, which he DID NOT show any credit or allow the original creator to ask for a "donator skin" like most others -Literally banned hundreds of ppl that asked for clarification of WHAT WAS HAPPENING in the official server -asked the dev team to "sign" an official document VIA MS PAINT (Yes you read that right) -Repeatedly told players he was "too poor" to afford more ppl to help him code, but suddenly hes able to go on a vacation to Peru -Made a fake apology and deleted it weeks later, which, caused another ban wave on the server on ppl that asked why he deleted it The list goes on, the game has cool ideas, but a bad owner, xoxo
I've picked up this game sometime back in 2019-2020 solely on the fact that I could grow a Pteranodon to a huge size and had pure freedom with skin customization. Looking back now at the time I truly wished I spent my time elsewhere. It all went downhill ever since the size nerf update for me, when my once towering Ptera was reduced to a such a pitiful state, that many, myself included, were disheartened by the nerf. And I cannot forget the many A+ PR nightmare Lead Dev comments towards the community. Considering all this and the recent stealing and server shutdown kerfuffle, it's safe to say I regret ever touching this game and highly encourage you to find your business elsewhere.
I will say one thing, may edit my review to add details if I am silenced further. The developers react to any criticism like the Dai Li in Avatar. If you say anything negative even if it's worded kindly or attempt to spread the truth of any allegations against the lead developer or his favorites, they silence you. They ban you. They even reach out to developers of other dinosaur games to have you banned from their games too. There is no war in Beasts of Bermuda.
Used to love this game, and even moderated for it on this account, but I would not recommend this game purely due to developers' negligence (whether intentional or not) of handling issues being reported and not listening to valid feedback in their official spaces that I've experienced from both sides of the community. I've uninstalled this game permanently and recommend others to form their own opinion on the game and how the developers treat the community or handle even basic things like updates before doing the same. Hopeful things may change, but they won't because there is no accountability or try to change with the same people time and time again, and this seems to be a pattern. Wish the best for the game regardless because the love invested by those who do care. Noticed I had yet to put a review, and I wanted to put into brief words based on my experience overall why I will not touch this game again despite the nostalgia it once held because Steam required something more than a brief departure.
This game literally won't let me play as it says 'login failed' despite my internet clearly working. Literally can't play the game, and judging from some guides from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2021, that means its an issue known for over 4 years. Actual madness that this hasnt been fixed, what the ♥♥♥♥?
Before you buy this game join the Offical Discord and look at the state of their General chat and that’ll tell you all you need to know about the Lead Dev. He’s recently cleaned house on his already dying game by removing anyone who doesn’t agree with his constant pings about individual drama he has with his own players. Between a data leak, questionable staff allegations and the volatile way he decides to talk to his players who give him any kind of feedback other than “it’s good!”. Save yourself the movie and just go to The Isle or wait for the next dinosaur prodigy game.
This game was fun but it has always been inundated with hackers, glitches, and bugs that could only be mitigated by UNPAID moderators. The lead Dev (Predatoria) has allegedly been involved in tax fraud, misleading past employees on their status as volunteers, mishandling opportunities with executives from bigger studios, actively **refusing** to invest in better server hosting because using Soals doing it is "cheaper." In turn, Predatoria has taken the most lazy route in every decision he makes, only choosing what will maximize his own profits. The most recent downturn has been one of his paid admins (Zunaria) FORGETTING that the person they tried hiring had previously raped a current employee of theirs. This rapist has not been banned from the main discord, and both Pred and Zun directly ban anyone who makes mention of this. Including Pre-Steam donators and longtime active community members. Their ONLY PR person had stepped down, and other ex employees have spoken out about this. Pred had also been found to be a eugenicist towards autistic people. The apology for which had been silently deleted. Being banned from the main discord practically makes the game unplayable, due to the sheer amount of hackers and bugs that they refuse to actually fix or hire someone to fix. For years now. The devteam now labels anyone who had gotten banned due to asking for clarity on these situations as hackers, and some people had even been preemptively banned from the Path of Titans discord and game due to Matt (their dev) making brain dead decisions. This game has been in a state of limbo for years, and only being held up by unpaid moderators. The team had actively refused to take steps in growing the game the various times population has boosted via new playables/maps. Now they had just targeted a variety of their active playerbase to protect a rape apologist loser.
