About

Beasts of Bermuda is a multiplayer survival game in which the player is a dinosaur or other prehistoric creature. A player can take the role of flyers, swimmers, herbivores, carnivores, and semi-aquatic creatures that fulfill different niches in the ecosystem. No matter what the player chooses to be, the objective of the game is to survive and grow up on the islands of Bermuda by using their particular creature's abilities. Predation from other players as well as intense environmental events are the antagonistic forces in the game the player must survive against.
There are currently three game modes in Beasts of Bermuda.

In Free Roam game mode the player selects a creature of choice and spawns into the world as a juvenile of that species. They must survive and gradually grow larger over time. As growth accumulates, they also earn talents, which can be spent to enhance different aspects of your creature's capabilities. In this mode growth is slower but resource management is easier.
In Life Cycle game mode the player selects a creature and spawns into the world as a juvenile of that species. You must survive and grow larger in a fast paced growth setting. As growth accumulates, you will earn talents to enhance different aspects of your creature's capabilities. After 1.32 growth you can choose to enter a stage called Gauntlet, where the difficulty of the game increases with growth in the form of food, water, and ailment management. In this mode growth is faster but resource management is harder. Compete on a monthly leaderboard to earn the top growth ranking for your species!
In Combat game mode players are pitted against one another with mechanics that are designed to reward conflict. Servers can use Deathmatch Maps which are smaller with close together spawn locations. The player spawns in as an adult creature of their choice and can accrue more talent points by killing other players and stealing their points. The game mode is endless and uses points and kill/death ratios to show who reigns supreme on the server.

I have been an avid player on Beasts of Bermuda for over several years now. I have bought multiple accounts for this game and even ended up getting a laptop so I could also run BoB if I went anywhere or use it as an alt. I also helped run a server for a couple years on this god forsaken game. So I have plenty of time and experience when I write this review. Do I recommend this game? No Why? Well if you want a game from a Dev who thinks their artists and others who help work on the game deserve nothing, if you want a game that has so much fluff but no bug fixing, a game with mediocre levels of security, a game where skins matter more than players, a game where you can sit and absolutely do nothing for hours, a game with LITERAL game breaking mechanics, a game with LITERAL ear bleeding sounds, and honestly no content for months with little sneak peaks, not to mention in 7+ years of development. Go for it! This game was great at the start of me playing. I found chill servers to be best to help me understand the game mechanics but then I never left them. So as someone who didn't even technically play the game "the right way" you should head my warning. This game may look like fun and seem like it has great content but stay away from this afk dino sim. Bugs that have been in the game for literal years have still gone unfixed and unoptimized. This game is FULL of random files that just bloat up your pc because "spaghetti code". The lead dev barely listens to any of the player base and mostly the donors and whoever fills his ear with sweet nothings. This game has so much potential and it's wasted on a person who cannot manage a team nor seem to be able to run such a small company. If you want an "indie dev" who tells you "sucks to suck" when you lose something from THEIR OWN PATCH, this is the game for you! This game has been stuck in EA since before it even hit steam, so do not be fooled into thinking "It will eventually get out of EA" because I thought that way and look where I stand today. This game needs an entire recode and a new dev who understands criticism and not someone looking for bootlickers who tell them the new patch is great. Please do not waste your money on this ♥♥♥♥ game. The dev literally does not care for the game anymore. He just goes off on vacation all the time and screws with the teams money.

there is a lot i could say however i think the basics are the game has issues, encluding bugs that havnt been fixed in a long time. a really big issue is skin guarding, like holy moly the enviroment for exclusive skins has been fostered to rot, the devs have put such a high value on thease skins and made them so hard to get people are literally loosing their minds over the skins, there has been harassment all over the place because of the value they attached to the skins. they just did an update that instead of fixing issues that have been around for years that litteraly kills your dino they fixed an issue where the exclusive skins where able to be used or somthing, they fixed it so fast that its shown the priority is keeping skins exclusive and not making sure the game works and you dont have your dino die because of say charcoal not working when your dino is sick as an example.
After playing for nearly 400 hours, I can firmly say I would not at all recommend this to other people. It feels very unpolished with a '3 miles wide, 1 inch deep" vibe to it, and there's a lot of jank that makes it bordering on unplayable. If you want a dinosaur survival game, go play Path of Titans or something. not this though.
This game needs bots so this doesn't feel like a sleeping/walking simulator.
I remember having a lot of fun on this game a few years ago but the transparency and prioritisation of the devs have become a huge problem. They blame the miscommunication on a toxic community, and while yes there are a lot of frustrations that players are loudly vocalising, it's not a new thing but a result of the devs ignoring game-breaking bugs for literal months if not years. The pot was bound to boil over. Recently, there was a leaked file that released 'exclusive skins' which were labelled as 'gifts' officially to avoid trouble with Steam. In under three days, the head dev released a patch to 'fix' the leak however it only ended up breaking and removing many players rare skins (and skins are the main appeal of bob which is why it was taken so negatively). This bug was not warned about, was not apologised for and the official servers were not rolled back a few hours to reverse the damage done. Instead, the head dev replied to everyone "Sucks, but it is what it is." Besides completely disregarding the upset of the players, a big problem with this is prioritisation. There are other skin files that make glitched bios or true black skins but these have been ignored and even USED by the devs, but the second 'exclusive' skins are threatened, the file leak is patched. The devs clearly prioritise extinct skins for a failed kickstarter over active players; as they were able to make this patch in days while game-breaking bugs have been ignored consistently. These bugs consist of but most certainly aren't limited to: - Double-Biting, a problem where players could use an animation transition to do double damage. (This bug was around for so long that people started to assume it was a mechanic). - Getting stuck in trees, unable to move or get /unstuck. - Teleporting under the map and drowning. - Some baby dinos getting teleported under the map and drowning. - Babies glitching out when being carried by their parents and drowning. - An issue where if a snake suffers Tendon Tear while coiled, it crashes everyone within render distance. - If a snake takes knockback from a pachy, their camera starts shaking violently. - Bunny-Hopping, where if a player times their jumping frame-perfect, they can continue moving at a speed gained from darting/running down a hill which makes them impossible to escape. - When a baby holds an object, that object grows with them. When that object is dropped, another baby can pick it up to continue growing the object. This results in lag for everyone nearby. - A severe memory leak that resulted in some players getting up to 150+ GB of useless files in their game file. - Healing Flowers have lost their texture. - The blue tint over Titania during night-time that causes players sore eyes and extreme migraines when playing, which also severely impacts visually impaired users (specifically those suffering visual snow). - A menu screen bug where entering a server causes a loading screen loop that only ends when that server eventually detects the anti-cheat. - Double tapping the interact key while drinking will cause the eating animation to play instead. - Drag Biting. - The block list doesn't work correctly to hide players. - If your dino dies too close to a restart or crash, it permanently deletes said dino. - Dino calls becoming deafeningly loud, especially on larger species, if a call is done while the emote wheel is open - potentially damaging speakers. There is a massive problem with transparency, as we are told that these bugs are being fixed on but are never shown evidence for it, yet a problem that affects extinct 'exclusive' skins gets fixed in a few hours - and in a way that results in negatively impacting a majority of players without warning or apology, only a "sucks to suck" message from the Head Dev in the game's main discord.
This game used to be so much better and filled with players but now its just dead with barley a few servers staying up, auto revive had ruined the game and the developers are bums and dont know how to keep the game good, its sad to see this game in such a bad state now when i used to play this game 24/7 and loved playing it
I'll change my review once the devs fix the game, but at the moment the billion game-breaking bugs that have been around for years aren't their priority. Edit: They've begun to fix some bugs, but only after enlisting the help of a known, alleged pedo in the community did they manage to get anything done. Not only that, but if you bring up ANY problematic issue to do with BoB in the Discord you will get banned; No matter if it's purely innocent curiosity or not, Pred and the staff team are actively silencing and snuffing out their own community rather than addressing concerns. Furthermore, the only apology (Only mentioning minor issues) that Predatoria has put out was deleted. When simply asked about it, people were again banned. To me, this shows that he isn't at all regretful for the numerous blunders made by himself and his staff. I will no longer recommend the game to friends, nor would I ever put my trust in the BoB team again.
Having played this game for 100 hours, the isle for about 900 and path of titans for about 800+ I can say that I don’t plan on stopping BoB anytime soon. I came in unaware of any past or ongoing drama and can say that the graphics are great and mechanics are a breath of fresh air. No collecting acorns to grow and no ridiculous pin mechanic. You grow until you die which keeps me interested in playing. The skill tree mixed with dynamic play styles is incredible, the community is helpful and has as much conflict as any other game with a chatbox. Don’t let the negative reviews keep you from playing this it’s a masterpiece and deserves more players. The official servers can go down at times but they come back online quickly and u can get back into the action
Too many hackers. Balance is bad, lots of bugs/issues that have existed for years but seems devs simply move on to the next thing. Official server performance pales compared to community ran, however auto-revive was added to the game and is basically a default on for community servers... making it absolutely not a survival game. It is a fun and addicting game. I'd like to see it succeed but the pro automatic revival community basically run the game forcing devs to go against their own vision for the game to satisfy half the population. In turn the other half of the population left the game due to this flip flop behavior on keeping auto-revive in the game. Server player numbers are incredibly low anymore.
