Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 19 → 5.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

After thousands of hours I should share why. This is a five star transition from the tabletop game. First the negatives: Mastering the controls can pose a steep learning curve, and a rare mis-click can really mess your iron man run, but once you get things like aiming, waypoints, melee facing, and one or two more, you are good to go. The biggest gripe I have is that there is endlessly more that can still be done, but development sadly stopped. However, the mods make up for that - more shortly on this topic. The many positives: Beautiful graphics, some decent character back-stories and progression, addictive basic gaming and top-notch replayability. Getting to grips with mech design is not optional, because it allows you to exponentially increase the options and guide and choose how you want to play. An OK selection of map choices allows for several play styles. Political alliances, and the alure of piracy and black market add great ethical immersion. The official expansions and DLCs are a must, and perhaps play without for a game or two to fully appreciate Flashpoints, which layer in tremendous story, politics and immersion, heavy metal for all the good stuff therein, and Urban Warfare for great additional maps, mechs and toys. Then when you have played that for a year or two, go up a thousand percent with the BattleTech Advanced mod, which is too much and too awesome to fully justifiably describe here - go read up on BTA or RT yourself. They are like meeting the game again for the first time. They are more difficult at first, even if you have played for a while, so that is another reason to play the official versions first. The base and official DLC works well on Linux, except for that one loud voice which you can configure speakers to mitigate a little bit, but for BTA, not so much. I used Windows for that. I have a decent but ageing CPU and graphics card, neither top end, but they handle the game on higher settings. No game gets a ten out of ten from me, but this one is as close as it gets.

Great game! 9.5 out of 10. Only MAJOR drawback and completely illogical. Lack of an overhead map. Every game since Spear of Destiny has had a map. AND THIS GAME HAS SPACESHIPS!!! That can see the planet! With sensors! It baffles me why I can't press M, see an overhead of the battlefield and plot a course along completely visible planetary surface.
I'll say up front that the game has some janky mechanics which can make for occasional frustration, and I would advise getting some basic mods for improved game stability, but it is more than worth the investment to get up and running. This is a game I keep coming back to as a comfort game, and I absolutely give it a recommendation. The satisfaction of seeing a King Crab absolutely annihilate something with UAC/20's or a Marauder drop something with a clean headshot is just *chef's kiss*.
2723 hours, the vast majority of it after going through the campaign and DLCs and just playing the BTAU mod over and over again. Scratches a specific itch that only a game and mod like this can do, with interconnected tactical and strategy/management layers that provide a satisfying loop.
A gem of a Strategy game, I have sunk Hundreds of hours into this fantastic game. Captures so many of the aspects of Battletech perfectly, both the combat and mechs, and classic "Struggling mercenary going from contract to contract" feel. The dlc's are something of a neccesary purchase, but they do add wonders in terms of refreshing the map pool and adding the very exciting 'flashpoints'. And the modding community is AAA as well, with both Roguetech and BTLA being stellar examples. Can't recommend this game enough, to both people that love the rich setting already to those that have never heard the word "Kerensky" in their lives.
Highly recommend for anybody familiar with the battletech tabletop. Simplified vanilla game but you can add mods that will include everything. Game has memory leaks which means i highly reccomend restarting the game roughly every 3 hours or so regardless of your rig. One of the best battletech games and I've been playing since BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception back in the 80s/90s. Take the time to read up the mechanics outside the game and you'll reap the rewards. Good Hunting Mechwarrior.
BattleTech was exactly the game that I needed to fill the niche space in my heart. Giant Battlemechs? Tactical RPG? Unit Customization? Character Progression? Big Ka-boom? All check. While the base game is great by itself and is a great introduction to casual players, there are also mods that will fulfill us long-standing fans since the original MechWarrior. All of those beloved chassis that you had grown to love? BTA 3062. Lore A-plenty, even for individual weapons systems. A greater challenge? RogueTech. Maybe you want a balance between content and challenge? BattleTech Extended. There's something for everyone here that is a fan of the Mecha and Sci-Fi genre. It's like Game of Thrones in space with Mechs. What's not to love?
