Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The story and world is great and original. But the first one sucks until you use guides on the internet to understand the battle system, luckily when you get to the second one, you know it sucks until you understand the battle system so you look up the battle system on the internet. The games do a poor job of explaining imo..

Genuinely some of my new favourite games. I bought the switch release then double dipped on steam, they're just that good! 💙💚
Only about 10 hours in but this is a really good game. The dialogue can be a little campy so far but the combat is solid. You have to get the mod for english voiceovers off nexus but it was worth the few minutes it took to do that. This game is like Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia and Slay the Spire adopted a baby. Its just that good.
J'ai réalisé une traduction française complète et gratuite (fantrad) d'Origins, compatible Linux comme Windows. game is good, unique playstyle for an rpg. but dear lord this shi is slooowwwwwwwwwwww like battle are sooo slow and the fact that i gotta use cards in the correct order to make a better version is pretty nice... but then again i gotta basically farm that specific order and some times that doesnt happen cause u dont draw the cards. so u just WASTE time on fights and once again, the fights are slooowwww but then if u speed them up. u may screw up.... idk mixed feeling about it
If you have the same nostalgia for Baten Kaitos that I do, I can whole heartedly recommend this remaster. The only thing "bad" about it is that they changed the names of some alcohol related items, and leaving the game is through the main menu, but that's about it. It looks great for a 2004 game and they even added a menu to change the speed at which the game plays, sort of like increasing the emulation speed.. very handy! I could even play the game on my phone through GameNative, so it's perfect when traveling! I've yet to play the Origins, but I guess its going to be of the same quality
It is one such reminder of the good old days. And definitely contrasting current times where everything is hell bent on subtracting by constantly adding. Buy, play, move on - presto.
Developed by logicalbeat Co., Ltd. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster revives two beloved Japanese role-playing games in a single collection that successfully blends nostalgia with meaningful modernization. Featuring both Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and its prequel, Baten Kaitos Origins, this package introduces an unforgettable fantasy universe where civilizations flourish on floating islands suspended above an abandoned world. Rather than simply preserving the original releases, the remaster enhances them with updated visuals and a wealth of convenience features that make these lengthy adventures far more accessible to modern players while respecting what made the originals so memorable. The stories remain among the strongest aspects of the collection. Both games deliver expansive narratives filled with political conflicts, ancient legends, unexpected betrayals, and emotional character development. Although they share the same world, each title presents a unique perspective with its own cast and central themes, giving players two complete adventures that complement one another. The series also distinguishes itself through its unusual storytelling approach, placing players in the role of a guardian spirit who influences events rather than simply acting as the main hero. This creative narrative device strengthens the connection between the player and the characters while adding a refreshing twist to the traditional JRPG formula. Combat continues to be one of the franchise's defining achievements thanks to its inventive Magnus card system. Nearly every weapon, spell, consumable, and special ability exists as a collectible card that serves multiple purposes during exploration and battle. Victory depends not only on character progression but also on constructing effective decks and making smart tactical decisions during encounters. The original game emphasizes careful planning and strategic resource management, while Baten Kaitos Origins evolves the formula with a faster, combo-driven combat system that rewards quick thinking and fluid execution. Together, the two games showcase different interpretations of the same core mechanics, preventing the collection from ever feeling repetitive. Outside of combat, exploration is equally rewarding. Every floating continent introduces its own architecture, customs, wildlife, and history, creating a world that feels vibrant and distinct. Hidden treasures, optional quests, collectible Magnus cards, and memorable NPC interactions encourage players to thoroughly explore every location instead of rushing through the main storyline. The imaginative environmental design consistently reinforces the feeling of embarking on a grand adventure, with breathtaking landscapes, mysterious ruins, enchanted forests, and bustling towns contributing to one of the more distinctive fantasy settings in the genre. The remaster introduces numerous improvements that greatly enhance the overall experience. High-definition visuals sharpen environments and character models while preserving the original artistic style. More importantly, the added quality-of-life options significantly reduce many of the frustrations associated with older role-playing games. Adjustable game speed, auto-battle, encounter management options, instant victory settings, autosaves, New Game Plus features, and cutscene skipping allow players to customize the pace according to their preferences. These additions make the games much easier to revisit without removing the strategic depth available for those who wish to experience them in a more traditional manner. Audio remains another standout element throughout the collection. Motoi Sakuraba's orchestral soundtrack perfectly captures the emotional highs and dramatic moments of both adventures, delivering memorable battle themes alongside beautiful compositions for exploration and storytelling. The music consistently enhances the atmosphere of the floating world and remains one of the series' greatest strengths. Combined with the original Japanese voice performances and improved presentation, the remaster successfully preserves the charm that longtime fans remember while introducing it to a new audience. Despite its impressive restoration, the collection still reveals some traces of its age. Certain gameplay systems, menu navigation, and pacing reflect design philosophies from an earlier generation of RPGs, and some story sequences can feel lengthy by modern standards. The card mechanics also require patience before their full strategic potential becomes clear, which may initially overwhelm players unfamiliar with deck-building systems. Fortunately, the extensive accessibility options allow most of these issues to be minimized, making the learning curve considerably smoother than it was in the original releases. Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster stands as an excellent example of how a classic collection should be handled. Rather than dramatically altering the games, it carefully preserves their unique identity while introducing practical improvements that respect both veteran fans and newcomers. Between its imaginative world, compelling storytelling, innovative combat mechanics, memorable soundtrack, and thoughtful modern enhancements, the collection remains one of the more distinctive JRPG experiences available today. It successfully demonstrates why these titles have maintained a devoted following for years and proves that their creativity still holds up remarkably well. Rating: 8/10
