Is it the best sports game of all time? No. Is it the best surfing game out there? Yes. Is it fun? Yes. That's kind of all you need to know.
Jogo muito bom, recomendo pra que gosta de surf!!!
I've never lived near the coast and know little about surfing, but I've been able to pick up and enjoy this game easily enough. It feels like a throwback to old school boardsport games, with real surfers and licensed music and gear. You can create a custom surfer and unlock/buy boards, wetsuits, jet skis, and skill points, giving the game an RPG element. Graphically, the game is pretty unimpressive. You won't really notice this once you're riding waves though. Generally, you're scored for your best two runs (i.e. waves), and can take on as many waves as you want within a time limit. You can't just rack up points; you have to make one or two decent runs to compete with the AI surfing alongside you. This makes each run tense, as you gain combos and rack up points while avoiding whipeouts. There's a decent tutorial, and a Freesurf mode that lets you practice in customizable conditions and explore the dozen or so locations at your leisure, which is super relaxing. There are a lot of neat little details that make up for the graphical jank, like the reactive commentary after rounds, sunbathers reacting when you bump into them, and the way competing surfers mock you when you wipe out. You can even choose the nationality of your jet ski driver, which will change their voice and language. $50 seems overpriced for a game like this these days, but Barton Lynch Pro Surfing is a rare throwback to PS2-era boardsport games with enough accessibility and progression mechanics to keep just about anyone engaged. If you're nostalgic for games like this, it may be worth full price to you. Otherwise, wait for a decent sale and give it a try.

Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.

best surf game ever , you can play with yago dora and much more profissional surfers. its great.
Unfortunately, transworld surf from 2001 has better controls, waves, and play-ability than this. It just feels off, it just doesn't flow like surfing should. I wish True Surf from android play store was refined into something like this. Glad I bought a steam key for $2 instead of dropping $50 on this.
Gameplay and physics are absolutely awful. Compared to Kelly Slater pro surfer this game feels like you have very little control over your character. Also what's up with all of the hospital bills in this game? you make a lot of cash through frustrating surf contest (the surfing is not fun at all in this game l0l) and then you gotta spend it all to recover your dudes health LMAO. Concept is great. Honestly worth MAYBE $20. Lots of issues. Just feels like it was made by Kooks or something.
Sports fans, do not miss Barton Lynch Pro Surfing. It is loaded with customisation options, exotic locations, glorious graphics, and stacks of tricks. It's the Tony Hawk of surfing games! i think it's only ok at best but they are trying and i wanna encourage em.
good
more kelly slater's than sunny garcia. its like madden for world surf league I guess. feels great to get priority and run somebody off a wave in a comp. camera needs work and the waves feel like a big quarterpipe. grab it on sale if youre absolutely itching.
