Reviews
A shameless cash grab that is overpriced and under offers. Lack luster UI and a garbage art style, the literal free verison of this game made by the community provides more replay value and a better experience.
If you like Axis and Allies just download the Free version called TripleA. Sure the graphics/UI are a little worse but you get access to all versions of Axis and allies instead of just one version. You also get access to tech! You can also use a better Random number generator rather than whatever biased engine this game uses. Literally the only useful thing in this game is the auto matchmaking system.

RNG is totally biased towards AI, Played many many rounds, AI always comes out on top. Played the CD version and it seemed to be neutral when rolling the dice. Another issue when human played Bombards island during amfib attack, AI gets to fire back, where when AI bombards human player pieces are removed immediately with no chance to fire back. Lastly transports are not allowed to take hits when in a fleet, all hits go to the fleet, and transports are gone, except when AI is defending then transports can take hits before the fleet if they are empty. This game needs a lot of work, before it can call itself close to the board game. Save your money until the bugs are fixed!
Do not get this game!!! The original version was amazing with customizable rules, unit strengths and cost with interesting dynamics that can make this game more challenging depending on what you're looking for... this game is a cheap knockoff. I feel like I'm playing someone else's game mode that hates playing any other way. No jet power, super subs, or custom options that made the old game super fun. Just take the old game and copy it into Steam and boom, people will buy it and play it. I anyone has played the game "Ambition: World at War" on ISO then you know what a good remake can look like. That game was decent and had so many customizable functions and like 4 maps you could play. The zoom on this game to see the map is trash and the units look terrible. You'll be super disappointed if you buy this game. This game was given no love and is basically just a name bait from iconic game. Most games developed now (like this one) are a slap job with little to no effort on the small details or functions that makes a game great. I miss the old days before 2010 app slap job games started coming out. This game is clunky and the developers should be fired!
the game itself is great, but this version of it is terribly implemented. it feels very incomplete. so many obvious features that are missing. examples: - email notifications contain no useful information. why not include a map? or attack power data? or brief summary of combat/ - combat summaries do not indicate what units were involved, include IPC loss information, or list surviving units. it only tells you what units were lost - game history is totally wiped after a short time - cannot view profile of opponent while in a match. have to wait until the match is over when that info is far less useful - does not allow communication between players - the in-game battle calculator is broken and unreliable - on defense you can't choose which units are killed, even if you're playing synchronous. defense profile changes do not save in real-time - black screen issues, even with modern GPUs, forcing players to lower in-game resolution The devs have abandoned this game too. I do not recommend buying.
Does a good job at adapting the board game into an online experience. My main criticism would be how jumbled the screen gets when moving troops. You may accidentally forget your land troops when trying to invade America and entirely lose the battle. There's certainly some visual elements that need tweaking to make the experience better.
Should you buy this game: yes, absolutely. If you enjoyed playing A&A 1942 first or second edition (I was a first edition guy), then you will love this game. I have put in countless hours playing both casual and ranked and its a blast (99% of the time its great - sometimes the dice just dont go your way, but thats life). If you are looking for an all-encompassing A&A game (1940 global, 1941, etc.) then this game doesnt have it. Really, thats my biggest critique - it just gives you 2 modes to choose from: the OG 1942 second ed set up and the Larry Harris improvement. If there was an expansion to include global or some of the other variants I would probably buy it, if there was an update to include the other versions automatically then I wouldnt stop recommending it. TL;DR: great game, I'd recommend (unless you are expecting the entire A&A lineup and will only buy it on that condition).
Whatever AI is controlling the computer play is not good enough. Whether you're playing the axis or the allies, the opponent (AI/system) has no idea how to properly utilize their navy. Makes the game too easy to win.
There's no research. They add the extra units of cruisers and artillery but no Italy or China. Can't recommend this when the free version is better. https://triplea-game.org/
This review is for singleplayer only. not multiplayer. The bot is very limited and does not adapt. Once it gets blockaded, either by an enemy fleet or by air power it will not try to break the blockade. it will not adapt strategies. it will spawn the exact same ships every turn, and let them die, every turn. This makes Bot controlled allies largely useless. It also means if you control your entire faction, you can pick and choose whom to fight, and when
