About
Several hundred years ago, a cataclysmic catastrophe nearly ripped your galaxy apart - an impassable ring of torn hyperspace fabric appeared in the center of the galaxy, which normal hyperspace engines can’t overcome.
Since this Event nobody has managed to get near the central regions of the galaxy. All you know is that the Event also spawned multiple untraversable hyperspace rifts throughout the entire galaxy and that a strange race of aliens, the Xsotan, has appeared in the center. It looks like these aliens have found a way to cross over the torn hyperspace fabric, but so far nobody has managed to establish contact with them.
There are also rumors about a strange new metal called ‘Avorion’ which has appeared in the center of the galaxy around the same time as the Xsotan have arrived. Apparently, the aliens use this material to build their ships.
Start out as a nobody at the edge and work your way to the center of a galaxy that gets more dangerous, but also more rewarding the closer you get to its core. Avorion takes sandbox aspects from games like X or Freelancer, throws in co-op multiplayer and lets you build your own ships. It features ships made of freely scalable blocks that can be procedurally generated and that break into pieces where they're hit in space fights.
Equip your ship with chainguns, lasers and other weaponry to take on your enemies and enjoy the sight of completely destructible ships breaking at the exact points where you hit them.
Defend your allies from pirates, hunt down enemies for coin or even participate in wars between entire factions. Once you’re victorious, collect loot from defeated foes which you can use to upgrade your ship: new turrets with special abilities like autofire or repair beams, or system upgrades that allow you to install even more weapons. Build hangars and command squads of fighters in your battles or destroy enemy freighters to steal their cargo.
Fly through beautiful nebulas and dense asteroid fields in search of hidden treasures and meet the many factions that populate and control their portion of the galaxy. Each faction has its own characteristics, such as peaceful, intelligent or aggressive, and its ships and stations have a distinct look.
Explore the galaxy at your own pace to find valuable goods in old ship wrecks, undiscovered asteroid fields rich in resources, gigantic asteroids which you can claim for yourself, or clues about what happened during the Event a few centuries back.
There are no limits to the size or complexity of your ship besides your resources. But there is also a creative mode where you can just build to your heart’s content. You're not bound to the standard voxel style and while building an awesome ship in Avorion you won't get lost in lots and lots of micro-management.
You can focus on building a great-looking ship, without having to worry about making it work. But always keep an eye on your ship’s maneuverability and energy requirements. Adjust your ship perfectly to its operational purpose: everything from light and agile explorers to heavily armored battleships with strong shields.
And why build only one ship? Hire captains to fly your ships for you, manage your crews, weapons, hangars and fighters and build your own fleet of spaceships!
Extend your ship with a cargo bay, find profitable deals and haul over a hundred trading goods across the galaxy to make a profit and buy your way up the food chain. Constructing a fleet of specialized transport ships with lots of cargo space will help you build up a trading corporation.
Extend your influence in the galaxy by founding asteroid mines and factories that attract NPC traders who will buy and sell their goods at your establishments. Install trading systems that detect trading routes and supply and demand over multiple sectors and become the richest commander in the galaxy!
Or maybe you're sick of being the good guy? Just raid freighters, smuggle illegal goods, or become a headhunter.
You don't have to face all of these challenges alone! Avorion features co-op multiplayer, so team up with your friends to build stations together and destroy pirates and enemy factions!
Everybody needs a copilot, and you can fly ships together, with one of you doing the steering and the other one taking care of firing weapons. Work with each other to extend your influence in the galaxy and build your own empire.
Or, you know, blow your friends apart. It's a sandbox, you can do whatever you want!
In Avorion you choose your personal playstyle. Haul cargo, find profitable trading routes and found factories. Or maybe you're sick of being the good guy? Build your own battleship, equip it with powerful weaponry and blow away your enemies. Be the aggressor that starts wars with entire factions, raid freighters, smuggle illegal goods and scavenge old wreckages. Find your way to the center of a galaxy that gets more hostile, but also more rewarding the closer you get to its core.

Игрушка суперская. Хоть и по факту здесь очень сильно можно упереться в гринд и однообразность контента, но моды могут с этим помочь. Сделайте своё приключение самым интересным для себя) И может быть даже для своих друзей!)))
Its not perfect, but for what it is - a singleplayer/co-op/multiplayer game that lets you engage with as many or as few of its primary elements as you want (ship building, the research mechanics, real time space combat, RTS style space combat, strategy based gameplay, territory fights, and more), I found all of them quite solid and enjoyable - not perfect, but for having all those as opt in in the same game that'd be a steep ask indeed. If you're looking for more content, the workshop has a variety of extra stories available, and the difficulty changes are staggering. Especially if you've got friends to play with or are willing to engage with the DLC, Steam Workshop, or just alternate play styles, replay value is certainly there, which is a bonus stop the time your first playthrough can certainly eat up. Plus, even if you amp the difficulty, you can't really brick a save - get shot back to square one, maybe, but even that's unlikely. So yeah. Extremely worth it, and I hope more people play because the current state is honestly great.

I've been playing the game before all of its DLC devs of the game is insane honestly it is almost nothing like I've played the first time universe itself feels alive now good %100 try if you like open world games like this one
I started out mining and doing little jobs. I've since created lore for an entire fleet of ships and the story of their journey to the center of the galaxy. The found a Star Destroyer at one point (Steam Workshop builds are insane). This game will pull you in like a black hole if you let it. Fleet management, space battles, RTS mode, faction dynamics, galaxy-wide economy, the list goes on.
I actually have closer to 3,000 hours in this game. Are you the rare jack of all trades that finds equal pleasure in killing, building, trading, exploring, crafting, etc? Do you find your friends all specializing in certain things and you can't help but do everything? This is the game for you. I've played it with small groups of friends (2-3) and inevitably I end up having to do everything just so I don't have to wait a day or two for someone to log on. I do NOT play this game appropriately. None of my friends do either. Remember 20 years ago when people giggled because ♥♥♥♥♥ were everywhere on minecraft? Well, now they can fly. Lots of them. Oh, and they all have fighter bays. On the tip. So... ♥♥♥♥♥ that shoot out other, tinier ♥♥♥♥♥. I made little white squiggly ships as my fighters first but my friends started calling me Harry ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥ Zues because my squiggly fighters looked like white lightning bolts and not coomies :( People are so judgemental these days when you're trying to be immature. My friend Debbie made a hot pink vagina ship and a docking clamp on the clit so I could casually and totally non sexually dock my ♥♥♥♥ ship on her clit clamp. Huh, there's a sentence that's fun to say. I find it ENDLESSLY ENTERTAINING going to dock on the clit clamp and missing on purpose, crashing into her ship or just missing entirely and then saying 'Not sure how this is supposed to work sorry am very innocent.' I tried to make a tit ship that was just a pair of huge boobs with the gun placements on the nipples and I dunno how to make rounded stuff very well and my friends started calling my ship Spongetit Squarenips and this offended me coz I tried to make them round lol. Game is for ages 10 to 5,000 year old boomer lich lord. Group of us 40+ year olds sure giggle a lot playing it. My server name is usually 'Pls Don't Be Immature' coz ya know, we always are at all times. Anyways, off to fly my giant capitol marijuana leaf ship the 'HAHA WEED BRO'. Yeah, you can spend 250 hours designing gigantic capitol ships shaped like pot leaves if you want. What idiot would do that though. This one. F steam if it doesn't like my review because that's too damn bad. This review was very mature. All the mature.
Well I didn't expect this at all. Avorion is a space game in which you forge your own destiny, in the tradition of Freelancer. That is, a 3rd person game set in space where you're always controlling your spaceship rather than the pilot themselves. The biggest difference up front is ship building; Rather than a selection of premade models, the player has access to procedurally generated ships built by NPC factions, player made ships on the workshop, or they can make their own from the materials found in game. Ship building is easy to learn and hard to master. You can just slap the blocks together in any order and the ship will go. You can have thrusters blocked by armour, solar panels covered by thrusters, and everything will still function, and early on it's quite forviging with whatever configurations you may find. But as you venture towards the center of the galaxy, enemies will be a higher calibre, and your ship configuration will be forcibly optimized in a crucible of combat. Combat comes as often as you want it, sometimes a bit more, and is pretty decent. Individual parts of ships can be damaged and destroyed, so it's possible to ram a weakened point in a thin ship and cut it in half. Turret placement and weapon groups become increasingly important. After a certain point you'll have access to hangars and fighers which becomes a huge source of damage in combat, allowing you to board and capture enemy vessels, and granting faster mining and salvaging. At some point you'll hire a captain for your ship and realize that not only can you control it in the local map like an RTS game, you can also send it off for long missions of various types on the galaxy maps, and you will be left in your drone again. This is where the game opens up, as you build/aquire another ship, and then another, then get some specialist miners and scrappers, maybe some torpedo frigates, a capital ship, then a bigger capital ship, then.... It's not just ships either. You can colonize empty sectors of space by making a space station. Space stations can produce a variety of goods to sell in the dynamic economy, or they can produce fighters or turrets or even ships. They will come under attack by pirates, aliens, and any enemies you've made, so it's a good thing you can make them gargantuan walls of hitpoints, bristling with guns and surrounded by a swarm of fighters. Speaking of enemies, there is a diplomacy system with a decent amount of depth, small actions and mistakes can build to bad relations, even war, so try not to crash into other people's stuff too much. On the other hand, trade and genreally helping out will make you well liked, eventually resulting in the possibility of an alliance. And war isn't all that bad, after all. It means you can ravage and scrap your enemies for sweet loot. There is a story and quests that drive the game forward but you can go off adventuring at any time, as nothing is time critical. Finally there is multiplayer, but I haven't really engaged with that much. I can see how playing this with a few people on a PVE server would be a fairly excellent experience. Because of power differentials between beginner and endgame ships, open PVP servers might tend towards the rough side of things. All in all this was the space game I never knew I needed to play.
Exactly what you think it is. The amount of freedom and styles in gameplay gives you many different reasons to play. Great for the cost as well.
Way better now than it was before. Can not believe I refunded this game at one time. I love being wrong. Its like EvE online and X4:Foundations but multiplayer.
