Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Beautiful cozy alchemy game with all charming character !! This is the first of the mysterious trilogy so its nice at starting point especially for newcomer the character story is heartwarming and the interaction is funny also makes you sad sometimes. in my opinion the main story is a bit short but there is plenty side char interaction. also if you already beat the main story and credit rolls keep going there is some mission to transition smoothly if you want play the next mysterious series, atelier firis!. the alchemy in this series is good, easy to learn but hard to master especially keep transfering trait from one item to another and make it loop until you achieve the highest possible quality will take time. the combat is also fun, enemy is challenging. there is enemy can smash your butt even on easy difficult if you not prepare enough XD. i beat this game on despair difficult defeat any boss that require you to create the best equipment with the best trait. im looking forward to play atelier firis next!

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I love the game story but the grind is endless and doesn't stop also you need crazy amount of materials and steps just to make decent gear.
Staring in the cauldron simulator.
Atelier Sophie is really fun. The game has a lot of charming characters and a great, chill vibe. While the story is a bit basic, what you really play Atelier Sophie for is the wonderful character interactions and the incredibly addictive Synthesis mechanics. However, there are a few design flaws that might frustrate you or even turn you off. Consider these informational warnings before you dive in:
1. No Auto-Saves & Crashing
The game can crash, and there are absolutely no auto-saves (which is wild for a DX release). I got my first crash after 15 hours, and it crashed about 3 or 4 times across my 70-hour playthrough. Tip: Save your game every single time you head back to the atelier, and never interact with the cauldron until after you've saved.
2. Tedious Character Event Tracking
I wish the mini-map had (!) icons next to character faces when they had new dialogue. You have to constantly run around and talk to everybody, every single weekend, just to progress the supporting cast's sub-stories. It gets pretty annoying and tedious.
3. Highly Unbalanced Combat
It is not uncommon to get into fights way above your capability where enemies deal massive AoE damage and your party drops like flies. There is no way to see how dangerous an encounter is before engaging (no level or color indicators like in Xenoblade or MMOs).

🛠️ How to Trivialize the Balance Issue (Trait Tips)
The game gives you ways to overpower enemies, but it requires hours of crafting and merging Tier 3 traits—something the game doesn't explain well without a guide. Traits do 99% of the heavy lifting. Equipment tier matters way less than what's on it. If you want to turn the game from "impossible" to "completely trivial," aim to get these trait combinations onto your Neutralizers (preferably red) and transfer them over: - Weapons: (Power of Gods OR Increase Aggression) / Skill Savings / Well-Rounded Power - Armor: Dragonscale Defense / Well-Rounded Power / (HPMP Super Enhance OR Power of Life) - Accessories: Speed of Light / Well-Rounded Power / (HPMP Super Enhance OR Power of Life) - Attack Items: One Hit Kill / Ultimate Destruction / Cost Bonus - Recovery Items: Ultimate Recovery / Cost Bonus / (Multiply OR Super Enhance Recovery) Note: There are 999 Quality loops and even better traits in the post-game dungeons, but the list above is more than enough to roll the credits.
Final Verdict
Despite these flaws, I still thoroughly enjoyed my time with Atelier Sophie. If you love charming characters and deep crafting systems, it is absolutely worth your time—just be prepared to save often and look up a trait guide!
Im definetly not the target for this game. I liked a lot the VN components and doing chores for the ppl in the village, but combat is just stupidly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. At the beginning i just thought that since i wasnt using consumables, which is the main point of alchemy, i was having a tough time even with top tier equips, traits and full leveled characters. But ooooh, ofc not. I made a build that worked for most people with consumables, that helped me deal with light spirit and demon lord, which i couldnt beat just having top tier equiped and full lvld characters (which i find pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ too, but well) but DLC Luard... is the biggest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss ive ever found in a video game. Literally decreased all his stats 13 times in a fight and he still deletes you with 2 attacks, literally nerfing stats on enemies is useless. And after searching even for japanese forums about strats and tips to beat him, the only reliable thing i found is "Equip hourglass on the 4 characters and pray for RNG to smile on you" seriously, the only reliable strat is RNG? so sad that combat is so poorly designed, i really enjoyed the rest fo the game, but combat just fckd it.
This is my first Atelier game. It took a bit for this game to click, but once it did boy was it addicting. The emphasis on crafting makes for such a unique JRPG experience. It's so addicting to chain synthesize and build gear that quadruples your stats etc. There isn't much of a story but Sophie is a cutie pie and the townsfolk are likeable. Also special shoutout to the OST it's legit mindblowing.
I've played seven other Atelier games (all 3 Dusk and Ryza games + Yumia) at least most of the way through , and this is easily the worst of the bunch. I decided to give it another go because of the positive Steam reviews even though I bounced off it at release, but I dislike it even more now if anything. Sophie offers mindless combat, paper-thin characters, and a plethora of tiny gathering areas with barely anything distinguishing them from one another. There's so little effort in the plot that I really don't think you can even call it a story. A book asked you to help it get its memories back, so you do. Many of the positive reviews say this is the first Atelier game, and I can believe that the novelty of the crafting system is enough to carry the experience if this is your first go of the series. I would strongly recommend playing Ryza or the Dusk games instead to get a deeper crafting system, a real story, and worthwhile combat, but this system is fine. You basically add tetronimos to a grid and can earn bonuses based on how you did so. It's not as deep as earlier games, but it's miles ahead of Yumia's inane version. The one nice thing I have to say about Sophie, other than that the character designs are mostly solid, is that the recipe unlock system was a good idea. I like that you find new recipes by completing little quests that are vaguely related to the item in question, but they didn't go far enough with this system. In practice, you're locked to a linear progression and have a couple of basic tasks you must do to progress rather than anything that really encourages exploration or experimentation. If all you want is a low-pressure game with cute characters that you can play without having to think about it, Sophie is probably worthwhile. For everyone else, I wouldn't bother unless you're dying for more Atelier and have exhausted rest of the billion games in the series.
