The first entry in the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles saga takes place in China, 1526, as the Ming dynasty starts to crumble. You embody Shao Jun, the last remaining Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood, returning to her homeland with a vendetta.

Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China - A Stylish Spin-Off That Doesn't Quite Reach the Main Series. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is an interesting experiment. Rather than trying to recreate the massive open worlds the series is known for, it takes the franchise in a completely different direction with a 2.5D side-scrolling stealth platformer. It's a refreshing change of pace, even if it doesn't always hit every mark. The game's strongest feature is undoubtedly its presentation. Inspired by traditional Chinese ink paintings, every level has a striking artistic style that gives the game its own identity. The environments are colourful without being overwhelming, and the historical setting during the Ming Dynasty feels distinctive compared to other entries in the franchise. Playing as Shao Jun a character introduced in Assassin's Creed: Embers is another highlight. As Ezio's last studant. She has a compelling personal motivation, and it's nice to see a protagonist who brings a different perspective to the Assassin Brotherhood. Stealth is where the game is at its best. Rather than encouraging direct combat, Chronicles: China rewards patience, observation, and careful planning. Slipping past guards unseen, using noise distractions, and navigating the layered environments captures the spirit of being an Assassin surprisingly well, despite the side-scrolling format. Unfortunately, the game is held back by several limitations. Combat feels intentionally weak which fits the stealth focus but when you're forced into a fight it can become awkward and frustrating. Enemy AI is functional but predictable, and level design occasionally relies on trial and error rather than clever problem-solving. The biggest issue is that the gameplay can become repetitive. Many levels ask you to perform similar actions with only minor variations, and because your movement is largely constrained to a 2.5D plane, exploration lacks the sense of freedom that defines the mainline Assassin's Creed games. The story is serviceable but relatively brief and never quite develops the emotional weight or intrigue seen in larger entries. It feels more like a side story than a major chapter in the franchise. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China succeeds as a compact stealth game with a unique visual identity. It understands the fantasy of being a hidden assassin, even within the limitations of a side-scrolling design. Players expecting a traditional open-world Assassin's Creed adventure will probably come away disappointed, but those willing to embrace its different approach will find a competent and occasionally excellent stealth experience. It's best viewed as an enjoyable spin-off rather than a replacement for the main series. Pros Beautiful ink-painting-inspired art style. Shao Jun is a likeable and capable protagonist. Strong emphasis on stealth over combat. Clever level design in many sections. Short enough to finish without overstaying its welcome. Cons Combat is clunky and often best avoided. Gameplay becomes repetitive over time. Limited exploration compared with the main games. Story is enjoyable but relatively slight. Some stealth sections can feel trial-and-error. Overall: 7/10 - A solid and stylish Assassin's Creed spin-off that successfully adapts the series to a 2.5D stealth format, even if it lacks the freedom, depth, and ambition of the mainline games.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Lowkey a W. Clean visuals, fun stealth, and satisfying assassinations. Don't expect a normal AC game, but if you vibe with stealth LMAFO

this game is short but fun to play
