About
Ancient Cities is a realistic, survival city builder in an immersive procedural environment. Lead the fate of your tribe through ancient times!

You will have to guide your people through generations, discovering and improving technologies, managing resources and population, building your city organically and facing other tribes in a fully simulated world and ecosystem.
Take your time to build your ancient city, step into our ancestors footsteps and get immersed in the ancient times.

In Ancient Cities you can play at any time and place of the European Stone Age. From the warm Mediterranean to cold Scandinavia and from the end of the Ice Age to the end of the Neolithic.
In each time and place you will have historically accurate forests, animals, buildings, tools, resources and knowledge of each culture that you will have to manage to survive in the harsh ancient times.

Ancient Cities reduces micromanagement through intelligent automation. Organise and build while your citizens perform the tasks that best suit their specific skills and knowledge.
In the regional game layer, you will be able to trade or attack neighbouring tribes or perhaps decide to migrate elsewhere if resources become scarce.

This is only the beginning, Ancient Cities has been designed as an ever-improving platform that supports the continuous introduction of new compatible content to explore new cultures and places throughout history.
Stay tuned for new improvements and contents!

More Like Ancient Tribes Simulator, not really a city builder. I bought into to this based on the trailer from years ago but should have waited...
A great concept, executed with decent graphics, is mired beneath horrendously unintuitive controls and UI.
GER/ENG The screenshots made me really want to play the game, but also because I love that era. But, oh boy, was I disappointed. The graphics are decent enough for a city-building sim, but that’s about it. Unfortunately, the downsides outweigh the positives here. The ambient sounds are barely noticeable, if at all. The music is okay, but there don’t seem to be many tracks. The UI is a disaster. It’s way too clunky and confusing. The design also doesn’t fit the game. People aren’t doing what they’re supposed to, despite the workgroups. There’s a workgroup of 20 builders. You assign them the task of building a house; all the materials are available, but no one is working on the house, even though there are enough workers. EDIT: I've noticed that the workers bring resources to the construction site as listed in the build menu, moving from left to right, and stop building if there aren't enough materials. They don't think to continue building another structure if there are enough materials available there. The fact that you can only assign one type of material to a storage area or warehouse is absolute nonsense. Managing and placing buildings is cumbersome and fiddly. I have no idea where my workers are getting their resources from. Why are fine raw stones so hard to find, and why can’t you just craft them from raw stones? Why do materials deteriorate so quickly, and why can’t you slow down the deterioration process by storing them indoors? There seems to be only one type of axe, and these are made from fine raw stones... Who/what/when/how you learn things is way too confusing. The performance is absolutely terrible. There’s a lot more, but I can’t think of it right now.

After a few minutes massive FPS drops, unplayable. Temperatures are fine and latest drivers. Problem only in this game.
I really want to like this game. There are some very innovative, interesting parts about it. As annoying as it was at the start, I'm intrigued by the invisible tech tree that feels far more realistic - you discover the tech based on your skills in that particular area and you really don't know at what point each new option unlocks beyond a few items that are greyed out. The worker management system is a little unique, but fairly straightforward. That said... there are a few annoyances - It's hard to see the grid accurately at times and the weird "circle things instead of click" is...oddly unnecessary (since you CAN click as well for much better control). Lack of ability to store multiple types of items in, say, a storage building, is also frustrating. But the real killer is the speed, or rather, lack thereof and the super easy game play. I've played on both Mesolithic and Neolithic starts as well as multiple levels of difficulty.... it's just too darn easy. I spend most of the game just watching the game play itself. If you are competent in setting up your workgroups well and correctly prioritizing, it just...works. There isn't much to do. Like I said, I really like the premise and some of the unique ideas for game design, but it's too boring to stick with...
Ancient Cities is one of the most immersive prehistoric city-building and survival games I've played. The graphics are beautiful, the environments are detailed, and the game runs surprisingly smoothly. It's the kind of game where you can relax, watch your people grow, and enjoy seeing your settlement slowly evolve over time. The building mechanics are excellent and feel natural. Expanding your village is satisfying, and watching your tribe construct homes and other structures really brings the world to life. The technology progression is also one of the game's strongest features. Instead of unlocking everything quickly, you gradually discover and develop new knowledge, making each advancement feel meaningful and rewarding. What I love most is the slower pace. Rather than constantly rushing, you manage resources, adapt to the seasons, care for your tribe, and watch families grow across generations. Every decision matters, which makes your settlement feel unique and personal. One tip for new players: start your settlement near water. Having access to fishing from the beginning provides a reliable food source and makes the early game much easier. If you start too far from water, you'll likely struggle with food until your settlement is more established. Overall, Ancient Cities is a fantastic game with beautiful graphics, smooth performance, excellent building mechanics, and an amazing technology system. It's a relaxing yet rewarding experience that I keep coming back to. I can't wait to see what future updates bring and how far the developers will take the game. The potential is enormous, and I'm excited to see how much further our civilizations will be able to grow.
Dawn of men joga esse jogo no lixo, cospe, queima e mija em cima.
Really love this game, the graphics are the best ever! so amazing details! thank you!
Good game, needs more time to cook, but don't let that hold you back.
Do you enjoy builder style games? Are you interested in history? This might be for you if you answered yes. It's not easy, it's not the usual builder game. Time, weather and fertility inherent to map areas affects can be a boon, or cause a need to migrate. Choosing when and where to migrate is up to you. Interesting map in relation to the time periods the game has, which is adjustable every map. From mountains to valleys, open sea coasts, to dense river valleys, great variety of plant material available, natural foods and wildlife. I have played around 150 hours as I write this. Picked it up while it was Early Access for a great price. Wasn't too sure what to expect. I have really enjoyed watching the game evolve since I purchased it, change, improve, and keep true to it's original design. Ancient Cities. Worth your coin and time.
