American Theft 80s ist gewiss kein fehlerfreies Meisterwerk und leidet ab und an unter einer etwas sturen KI und den typischen Sandbox-Macken. Wer jedoch über den Mangel an technischem Hochglanz hinwegsehen kann und das unbeschwerte Gefühl alter, etwas rauerer PC-Spiele vermisst, bekommt eine herrlich diebische Sandbox mit grandioser Atmosphäre. Die Texturen sind zweckmäßig, und manche Charakteranimationen wirken so steif wie eine Überdosis Haarspray aus besagter Ära. Aber für uns ältere Semester entfaltet das Spiel genau dadurch einen ganz eigenen, fast schon rührenden Retro-Charme. Es hat eine ungemein wohlige Anziehungskraft, nachts durch die Vorgärten zu schleichen, durch die Fenster klobige Röhrenfernseher zu erspähen oder einen klobigen VHS-Videorekorder mitgehen zu lassen. Wenn man dann eine fette Mikrowelle aus dem ersten Stock direkt in den Kofferraum seines kantigen Oldtimers verlädt, verzeiht man der angestaubten Technik so einiges.

Hay mecánicas y cosas que me gustaron del juego, pero lo de que cada 2x3 te esten pillando,que otras cosas sean un poco cutres, que el seguimiento de las misiones este bug y muchas veces se repita o no sepas a donde tienes que ir con el minimapa y finalmente que al vender objetos antes de terminar una misión resulte que también te deje vender los que son clave para terminarla y no poder continuar porque solo me hizo en casi 3h de juego 1 o 2 autoguardados 2 horas antes ha sido lo que me ha hecho reembolsarlo. Para entretenerte y si solucionasen estas cosas y por menos de 2€ no esta tan mal pero hay juegos mejores. Si vais a jugarlo guardar partida antes de cada misión manualmente por si acaso y no vendáis nada hasta que terminéis cada mision...
A fun and unique throwback to classic crime games. American Theft 80s delivers a surprisingly enjoyable mix of stealth, exploration, and old-school crime gameplay. Set in a colorful 1980s-inspired world, it has a lot of charm and creates a fun atmosphere that makes every job feel like an adventure. The freedom to plan your own approach is one of the game's biggest strengths. Sneaking into houses, stealing valuable items, and figuring out the best way to complete a job is satisfying, especially when everything goes according to plan. The world has a lot of personality, with plenty of little details that make exploring worthwhile. The progression system also gives you a reason to keep improving your skills and taking on bigger challenges. It may have some rough edges, but the overall experience is fun and different from the usual open-world games. If you enjoy stealth, crime simulators, and games where you can take your time exploring and planning, American Theft 80s is definitely worth checking out.

When I started playing American Theft 80s, I had already completed Thief Simulator 1 and 2, and so I knew pretty well what to do. To my big surprise I almost thought about refunding this game, because it was so much worse looking than the two other games, and I was also stuck at the very first quest in the caravan camp. The quest didn't progress, until I actually stole something and levelled up. After that I had as much fun as I had with the two games. Now, even though this is a very entertaining game, there are so many small annoyances, and you think that the devs outright troll you on purpose. I get it, if you get caught you're screwed, but sometimes you feel that people that shouldn't know where you are do infact know where you are, even if you ran from them and hid. I also think that after playing so much Hitman, that at least the disguises you use should have worked better. If I so much as touch the run button, every single person, guards AND workers come at you with their fists. I even got beaten up by being outside my car in a specific outfit. I need to say this, because it's one of the biggest differences from Thief Simulaor 1 and 2, and that is how the NPCs react. Sure, they react to sound right, but in this game, when an NPC is in their bedroom and supposedly are asleep, they will randomly just wake up and walk around randomly in the room. I tried multiple times sneaking into the room of a sleeping person, going as quietly as I could, but no...they wake up every single time! In TS 1,2 one of the funniest things is to pickpocket people that are asleep, and rob them blind while they are asleep. This is impossible in American Theft 80s, and it's a bit sad :(! If you load your game, because you caught, it takes 20 seconds before you're back playing, and even though the game loads the entire towns, it lags so much that you often end up running into things with your car. Single player games shouldn't really lag at all! Anyway, to sum up. Time flies when I play games like these, and I do have fun, and it wouldn't be fair if I didn't recommend the game, because I really do. I enjoy these games because they are goaldriven, and as you go, your skill level will increase, and you get more options to earn more money, which can take you even further! Regardless of some frustrations here and there regarding things, it's pretty decent made, all though Thief Simulator 1 and 2 are a bit more polished and can offer much more!
