About

Aloft is a feel-good, cozy survival game set in the clouds, where you can transform any island into a flying ship and explore the vast skies.
Navigate the world, discover new islands, gather resources, build your dream home, and take care of your animals, solo or as a group of up to 8 friends.
Yet within nature’s beauty, a corruption spreads. Root it out and cure the fungi threat that devours all other life. Uncover lost knowledge, brew powerful antidotes, enrich the biodiversity of the islands, and restore balance to the airborne ecosystem.

Aloft’s feel-good survival is more about rewarding positive action than punishing mistakes.
The sky provides everything you need; cook up delicious meals for buffs, gather resources to craft tools, and explore to find new technology. Soar the open sky freely and discover ancient ruins to uncover the secrets of the past.

Soar the open skies in a vast sandbox world and turn any island into your personal skyship.
Build and customize it into your personal home. With a helm, rudder, and sails constructed, you are ready to sail the winds and explore the skies. You are the captain of your adventure!

The wind is an ever-present ally in Aloft.
Install windmills and a network of cables and pulleys to automate your machines and production. Fly into strong winds to supercharge your crafting power and sailing speed, but make sure your sails can handle it.

Each island is its own living ecosystem, vulnerable to unsustainable gathering and the fungi corruption.
Find and cure islands from corruption by defeating the mushroom creatures in combat. Craft antidotes to save animals and restore islands to a state of harmony. By restoring their biodiversity, you gain access to new special resources, and make them more resistant to the corruption.

Collect seeds and animals on your travels and bring them to your home island.
Plant various crops in your garden to cook up delicious recipes, and care for the cuddliest of animals to gain rare resources. Form a true bond by meeting all their needs, and they will even protect you.

Creativity lies at the heart of Aloft, which can be enjoyed as a peaceful solo experience or with up to 7 other players.
Bring your entire island base when you join another player’s world, and create a small village of sky explorers. Use the in-game island creator to design anything you can imagine, then share it with the community to populate their worlds.
Craft the island of your dreams, challenge the corruption, restore balance, and express your creativity in the limitless skies of Aloft.
See you in the clouds!

EDIT: Realized I never talked about the gameplay. It's still good! It's just bad performance keeps me from enjoying it and takes me out of the experience. Let's hope the performance update (which is the next early access update as far as I know) fixes these issues. I've been following this game for a long time and just decided to pick it up again on a whim. Performance has always been an issue with this game: - models aren't loaded in at game start, and the loading is not asynchronous so the game will freeze for however long it takes to load the new-to-session model, so if it's on a hard drive, that's on the order of several frames, seconds if there's lots of new-to-session models - if lots of buildables are present in an area, the game chugs a bit However, since I played last, performance is significantly worse: - if a corrupted or wasteland island is present in the render distance, regular islands textures(at least, I think it's the textures) will flicker to black for a frame or two and then turn back to normal. My drivers are updated. - in general the framerate is just a lot worse no matter where I am in game. I don't have hard numbers on this as I didn't see the need to test back then.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The game is cute, pretty chill and all. For the start I didn't see any "survival" aspect, only crafting and running around. I'd give it a shot if the performance wasn't so bad or Steam had a longer time limit for refunds. Seriously, I can run Crimson Desert on high settings with more FPS than that. The performance is soooooo bad.
Honest Review Pros: -Great game, very relaxing and has a bit of a grind to it. -A lot of ways to build your own place (unique pieces of walls, floors, roofs, etc.) -Interesting concept of moving around with your island -Puzzles are super fun to figure out Cons: (This is subject to change) -Performance is not in a great state at the moment. There is some areas that will give me 20 fps at Medium settings with a good PC. (RTX 5080 with i7 14700K and 32 GB of RAM) -Some clipping issues in some of the islands. Some items can't even be grabbed due to them being in the ground There is a launch option that can fix some of the performance issues if you have not found one yet but is very hit or miss. Add this line "-force-d3d11-no-singlethreaded" .
Steam needs to add a "Meh" recommendation option for games like this. The game is what it tries to be, but that's all it is...a basic run of the mill exploration game with no rime or reason to it other then to "be" those genre tags. The TLDR, if you are looking for something interesting to play, this isn't it. You build to build, you farm to farm, and you explore to achieve those 2 goals. That is it (from what I have seen). To start with, the game doesn't really explain much of anything. Why are you here? What happened to everything/everyone? Why are you doing what you are doing? Who knows lol. Things just are. You are slapped into the game with no explanation of anything and that doesn't just apply to the world environment either, it applies to game mechanics and resource collecting as well. Some stuff is explained with tooltips or popup icons when you look at a resource, but not everything. It took me 8 hours before I realized you need to use the "dorkips" tool to get "tuff" by stabbing the ground -_- lol The exploration is mainly resource and knowledge stone hunting, very little exists outside of that. Because of that, most islands are generic resource fillers with one or two interesting places to check out with maybe a puzzle or two to solve in each map section. I've explored through the main 4 sections of the first zone and there is nothing to motivate me to continue. The game has no storyline, no fun/exciting/cool things to unlock...and if it does it does a poor job presenting that to you. The puzzles are nice but in some cases it's just too much work for such a small reward. All in all, it feels like a crafting recipe unlock simulator and everything it tries to be is merely just a means to accomplish that. The game is indeed a cozy sim with exploration and farming/building. But in order to do most of it, you have to spend tens, if not hundreds of hours to unlock recipes and explore in order to make anything worthwhile and by the time you reach the point where you got a decent amount of things unlocked to build and decorate with...you have no reason to even play the game anymore because once you build what you like...there is literally nothing else to do. The game is neat, but I can't recommend it for anyone who want's something more then a basic building simulator.
I don't understand the amount of complaints about performance. I'm using a mid-range machine and it's playing AMAZING. I'll come back after I get some more in game time :)
This is a game about survival—but the kind of survival you experience on a sunny morning with a cup of hot chocolate in hand, as you try to enjoy the sun’s rays gently brushing your face while wearing pajama bottoms and a fluffy robe. If that’s what you’re looking for, then it’s a plus: a warm little game about being caring. I recommend it for those seeking thrills and adrenaline in a new take on a book about veganism and Winnie the Pooh. If you're here for a survival game, go somewhere else. If you want to spend a few lovely days with your niece who loves llamas and are desperately trying to rebuild your family bond with her, you've come to the right place. Early access means little content.
I played the demo a while ago and really liked it. There felt like progression and I kept finding new bits to unlock or loot to add to my base. With the most recent update, the progression feels awful and I can't build anything. I can't find new knowledge stones to unlock more, and the world feels repetitive. This might be exactly what someone is looking for so if you can get it on sale, go for it. I think the devs care about the game and it will get fixed. I think the performance also got worse, frame stutters and whatnot. I'll keep an eye on this game, but right now it needs to cook some more..
Sadly, this game runs very poorly on my PC with my current rig. I played with the lowest settings and roughly had around 45-59 fps. I refunded the game because i know it will be even more demanding as i progress further into the game.
please optimize this game i beg 😭
Unable to play atm. Too many Stutters. I'll check back after a few improvements. Edit: Just found the legacy branch(betas) A lot more stable but, it doesn't have all the latest content :(
