About
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Aliens universe. This is not a rescue mission – it’s a fight for survival. Xenomorphs stalk the corridors, ambush from the shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers. Every room could be your last. Coordinate with your fireteam, leverage each class’s unique abilities, and adapt on the fly as encounters escalate from tense standoffs to all-out war. With deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class, AFE2 delivers the definitive co-op Aliens experience.

Expanding from three to four players, AFE2 introduces deeper team-based mechanics that reward coordination and strategic class composition. New and improved classes each bring distinct playstyles and tactical abilities to the fight, making every squad combination feel different.
The iconic xenomorphs are more ferocious than ever before. AFE2's massive variety of new xenomorphs will force players to stay mobile, maintain situational awareness, and use every tool at their disposal. From stun batons for up close melee action in those most desperate moments, to pyro and electric ammo to whittle down the unrelenting xenomorph front before they overrun you and your squad, the battle can shift from calculated tension to desperate last stand in seconds.
Beyond expanded weapon and gear customization, AFE2 introduces the Specialist – a fully customizable class that lets players mix and match major and minor abilities from every available class. Build a loadout tailored to your exact playstyle and fill whatever role your squad needs.
AFE2 launches with multiple dedicated Horde maps that push squads to their limits. Battle through escalating waves of xenomorphs and other deadly enemies, earning increasingly valuable rewards as you survive deeper into the onslaught. This is where teamwork and skill are tested at their absolute peak.

it's great fun
Really rough, both mechanically and graphically for the asking price- but has heart. Not unlike the first title at launch, it's best to give this one several weeks in the oven before playing proper. I do enjoy both games, but don't expect a polished piece right away; and wait for a sale.
Edit: Only just now discovered the premium anniversary packs... How delightful... General score: 6.5/10 This will be a LONG review in at least two sections. TL;DRs at the end of each, The Positives: Gunplay feels great. Is it the most robust gunplay system? No, but enjoyers of the first game should enjoy what you get here. It feels very similar, with a few updates and changed mechanics. Several weapons now have features like alternate fire modes/rates, and the augment system allows for fun little tweaks to your play. Gun models are beautiful, though this is from an amateur gun nut. They can be a bit quirky, especially when you look into the details (such as an SMG with a MEDIUM size magazine) but all in all, I haven't yet found a design I dislike. Customization is great from an outfit/armor angle. They do break it down into five simplified categories of what you can equip, but the variety feels expanded compared to what you could access in the base game of the original. Add to that the fact that all of what you get isn't held behind paywall DLCs, and it feels refreshing to have some drip to acquire. The classes and their spec system has returned, and it's just as detailed as the last game. Find your loadout and tweak your class how you want it, and this should make your playtime much more enjoyable. TL:DR; Guns are fun, customization of class and armor are top. The Negatives: The story feels... jumbled. While there is a basic, linear plot to the game, there are times when certain plot points and story elements don't line up. Naturally, progressing through different areas of a locale logically can give you different information (depending on where that location falls in relation to the backstory/reason for the game), there are moments when reactions to the information gleaned by the players and their allies doesn't feel appropriate or relevant to what is being revealed. On that topic, sometimes the voice lines feel out of place. I don't mean voice acting here; while the performances aren't top tier acting, they fill their roles well enough. What I am referring to are the moments where what is said feels like it belongs somewhere else in the story or, as above, it isn't relevant to what was happening in the story/lore. Some plot points also feel one off, like they're supposed to be important but aren't ever touched on again, or were even replaced with some other idea? As though the game is trying to write the story as you go, but it's of course already published. For example (without huge spoilers) a character claims they used their own body in experiments, but it's later revealed that their condition is actually because of an accident? Continuing with the story, the cutscenes are.., Mediocre. It's nice to have some exposition for the game, but these feel shoehorned in. The framerate shift between the cutscenes and gameplay is JARRING, and it takes you out of the moment. Add to this that all cutscenes are unskippable, and it just feels... rough. Character models are next. It's nice that during conversations, the characters actually move and talk, compared to the "psychic stoicism" of the previous game. But the models feel like they have too much teeth in their mouths, or their faces aren't quite right. It's very Uncanny Valley. Lastly, there are still a number of bugs in the game. I play on Mouse and Keyboard, and as far as I can tell, there is now "Press _ to walk" button. Yet in the main hub, I cross over some random points on the floor, and suddenly my character is walking. The "can't reload" glitch still exists in the hub, as well as the "Can't pick up items until you swap weapons" glitch. TL;DR: Bugs (not the Xenos) are still prevalent, some designs/functions are iffy and/or intrusive to the game, and story/dialogue is weird. General TL;DR: I like the game, but it could've been better. Take that as you will.

First game was great this one completely terrible. Woke dei slop full of nothing but girl boss characters. Haven't even loaded into a mission and i could already tell based off the first cinematic. Main character nps is lesbian and so are most of the other women on board the ship. NO THANKS. This is what happens when a black guy and a woman are in charge of game development.
Super fun , decent amount of options and easy to swap classes and weapons.
If you’re a fan of the Alien universe and love co op horde shooters, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is a game you really shouldn’t overlook. I know the game has received some negative reviews, but personally, I think a lot of those reviews miss what makes this game so much fun. This isn’t trying to be a deep single-player horror experience it’s all about teaming up with other Marines, grabbing your favorite weapons, choosing your class, and blasting through waves of Xenomorphs. What I especially like is how much there is to unlock and experiment with. You can level up your different classes, improve your weapons, unlock new perks, and create builds that fit the way you want to play. The perk system gives you plenty of freedom to customize your character, and as you progress, your perk board becomes larger, allowing for more interesting combinations. The class system is another big highlight. Each class has its own role, abilities, weapons, and playstyle, so your team actually feels like a proper Fireteam. You can focus on heavy damage, support, crowd control, precision attacks, or keeping your teammates alive. There is also a Specialist class that gives players even more freedom to create a customized build. And then there are the weapons. This is where the game really feels like Aliens. Pulse rifles, smart guns, shotguns, flamethrowers and other heavy weapons make fighting through a swarm incredibly satisfying. The sound and feel of the weapons are a huge part of the experience, especially when you're standing with your squad and hundreds of Xenomorphs start rushing toward you. Another thing I really enjoy is the variety of enemies. You aren't simply shooting the same basic Xenomorph over and over again. Different enemy types force you to react differently, and having a team with complementary classes becomes much more important as the difficulty increases. Of course, the game isn't perfect. The story and dialogue aren't going to win any awards, and the campaign can feel fairly straightforward. Some missions can also become repetitive, especially if you're playing for long sessions. But honestly, I don't think that's the main reason to play Fireteam Elite 2 anyway. The real fun comes from leveling your Marines, experimenting with builds, unlocking better weapons and playing increasingly difficult missions with friends. For me, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is a great co op horde shooter, and an even better game if you're already an Alien fan. If you love the Alien movies, enjoy fighting huge waves of enemies, and like progression systems with classes, perks, weapons and different builds, I think you can get a lot of fun out of this game. Don't let the negative reviews immediately put you off. If you know what kind of game this is and you're looking for an action-heavy co-op Alien experience rather than a traditional survival-horror game, there's a lot to enjoy here. My verdict: 8.5/10 – A fantastic choice for Alien fans and anyone who loves co-op horde shooters.
AMAZING BUT NEEDS SMALL IMPROVEMENTS!
I am a big fan of the first game, had fun with it and enjoyed it. After 5 years, they release this... with no innovation at all. PROS: decent story line graphics is the only thing that got better from the first game CONS: horrible sound design retarded character movement cover to cover system does not work awfull gameplay no horror atmosphere bad music weapons sounds are not like in the movies Alien AI is completely stupid, they just run by you and do not attack - WTF? bullets, rockets etc. have no impact on Xenos body, no effects, acid splash nothing (only on kill) and there is much much more...
